For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I took Angeliq for 2 1/2 years. It was great. All of a sudden, I became numb on the left side of my face, left arm, and sometimes my left leg. My left ear started ringing, and my head was buzzing. I also started having memory loss and confusion. I went to my gynecologist and told him the warning on the medicine was exactly what I was feeling, and he didn't seem to understand. He had my blood drawn for estradiol and Lyden Factor. I finally started bleeding vaginally. I immediately stopped the Angeliq. In a few days, all the symptoms were gone except the ringing and buzzing in my ears. At the same time I was sick from all this, my thyroid became overactive, and my cholesterol went up 40 points (all in 2 months). I still have loud buzzing in my head."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I have been menopausal for 3 years, and for the last 2 years, I’ve experienced almost every symptom going! Doctor recommended Angeliq due to having a uterus. I’m only on day 3 of taking Angeliq 1:1. I can already notice my anxiety is less when having a hot flash, and I seem to be having less hot flashes, so that’s a positive. I’m not having any side effects at all. It’s too soon to tell how this is going to go, but I’m hopeful. I will report back in a month!"

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "Where it helped with mood, no weight gain, I found it created other problems for me: dizziness, feeling sick, stabbing head pain, feeling very cold, loss of appetite. Blood tests showed kidney function problems. I aren't sure it's through the medication, but I stopped taking them and most symptoms are gone. I'm due for a blood test for kidney functions. Be interesting to see if normal now. Unfortunately, mood swings returned, but I'd rather put up with them than the other symptoms I got through the pill."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "Lots of side effects, especially breast pain and enlargement, reduced libido, very short temper. I am going to ask my doctor to change me to something else, as I feel dreadful on it. Been on it 5 months."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "My GP prescribed Angeliq for my vaginal dryness. Within a month, my symptoms eased, and I began experiencing less anxiety, and my metabolism improved. Then I began developing a cough and couldn't tolerate chemical odors. My GP attributed this to allergies. Soon the cough would be so severe that sleep was impossible, and after 2 weeks, I was hospitalized with pneumonia. The surprise diagnosis was asthma! I asked the GP and the pulmonologist if the HRT could be the link, they were adamant it was not. I could not leave the house, as strong smells would result in a burning chest and bad throat-clearing for several days. I was also using medication to control the asthma. I saw a new gynecologist who said he had other patients who responded in a similar way to HRT. I weaned myself off over 3 months. I have been off it for 3 weeks now. My throat clearing has stopped. I still don't tolerate chemical odors well, but my lungs don't burn."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I have been on this for 13 days. At first, bloating, but I have no hot flushes, but my face is breaking out with acne. I'm 54 and not in full menopause, my energy is low, sleeping is hard for me, it keeps me awake. But overall, I like it for hot flashes. Less side effect than other medication I have taken. I have tried several."

This solution has significantly improved quality of life. Consult with your physician to see if it is right for you."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I have been on Angeliq, and I did see how expensive this was in the USA and wondered when the NHS would stop funding it. Seven years, and I have now been asked to get a private prescription. Good and bad, I have had this on the NHS for all this time. Now I have to try to wean myself off it. I tried last year unsuccessfully, here goes."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I have been on Angeliq for 10 years post-vaginal hysterectomy and ovary removal. As this medication is unavailable in Australia at the moment, my GP has recommended I come off it. I have been off for 16 days, I feel okay, but I am feeling rather teary and down. Is this normal, and has anyone else experienced it? Also waking up with mild night sweats. Will all this subside when hormones settle down?"

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "At 3 a.m. on the 2nd day of taking Angeliq, I started abdominal cramps, which got progressively worse. Stopped taking on the 5th day. Did some more research and figured I have endometriosis, which explained why I had debilitating pain every time I ovulated in my younger years. I'm 62 now. So the estrogen doesn't only invigorate the uterus and vagina, but also the bits of tissue that are sitting outside my uterus. They start paining because they start putting pressure on surrounding organs. My GP had to agree, even though Angeliq has the opposing progesterone. Rather going to treat symptoms of anxiety and irritability with an antidepressant. Need to boost serotonin levels for a while."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I tried another HRT first but it made my breasts too sore, then I tried Chinese medicine but it didn't help much. So, I started taking Angeliq about 2 years ago. I'm almost 53 and I've been experiencing hot flushes, anxiety, insomnia, and moodiness. I also have a family history of osteoporosis from a young age. My doctor recommended antidepressants and was initially reluctant for me to take HRT, but it has been life-changing. I also do yoga and other exercises and eat a mostly plant-based diet. Recently, I had a breast cancer scare - I found a lump in my breast, but it turned out to be benign. The oncologist explained that HRT changes the texture of the breasts and increases the likelihood of benign lumps. It also makes it harder to use mammograms to screen for cancer. Now, I'm considering if I could switch to a lower dose or another HRT that is less strong."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "It is a month now... I am slowly getting my life back. Very thankful for Angeliq. Hot flushes, night sweats all gone. I feel so relieved. I still need some help with sleep at night, mood swings, and low libido. Overall, I am happy and can handle the other aspects. Will continue until needed to keep my sanity."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I am 63 years old, 5'5" tall, 128 lbs, and have been experiencing postmenopausal symptoms since I was 45. The symptoms got worse when I reached 60. I have hot flashes and bad insomnia. My doctor prescribed Angeliq 0.25 mg. The side effects for me were really bad in the first week: fatigue, heart palpitations, and depression - not myself. So, I decided to stop. Then, after consulting with my doctor, I resumed taking it again two weeks later but split the pill in half. Now I have been taking half a pill daily for three weeks, and I have no side effects. My hot flashes and ability to fall asleep are 80% better. Hopefully, it will improve even more over time."

"I have been taking Angeliq 1/2 for 6 months now. I’m 42 and had severe perimenopause/ early menopause symptoms including rapid mood swings, hot flushes, night sweats, insomnia, anxiety, and what I like to call a rage surge... similar to a hot flush but it’s overwhelming rage that surges through my body with no warning. I was miserable and felt like I was going crazy. I couldn’t lose weight and was irritable all the time and, in turn, made my family miserable. My doctor started me on this, and that was the day everything changed. I could laugh again, and be silly and jokey like I used to be. No more rage!!! The only side effect I had was a terrible headache the first day, mild headache the next day and then nothing but relief every day since. I’m so grateful I had a doctor who listened and agreed to trial me on this HRT."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I'm 59 and been on HRT for the past 5 years or so; originally PostOval, which helped with my fibroids and heavy periods. Doc then changed me to Livifem, which was fine, but still awful hot flushes and stopped my periods altogether - which was great because my libido also went right up! Been on Angeliq for 3 months now. Stopped the hot flushes immediately, which is fantastic; a bit of breast pain, but actually have little breasts now, which is amazing. However, recently started spotting - it's been more than two weeks now. It's quite annoying, to say the least."
