Isibloom (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "Literally worst pill I have ever taken. I switched from the last pill I was taking because of extreme depression but I would honestly rather have extreme depression and cry at all hours of the day then take this. The first three months I thought it was great. Then slowly but surely I began to get so irritated. Now I cannot stop lashing out at everyone and everything, when I have never been this type of person. I literally feel nothing at times if I'm not feeling angry and that is downright scary. I feel like a zombie sometimes. I have no care in the world and am and angry sad person. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and continued with the pill for three more months but it literally has just gotten worse and now I feel like I'm losing my mind. Please don't take this. You will have no motivation or joy :)"

Isibloom (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "Isibloom is great so far. I was switched to it after having spotting the whole time I was on nexplanon (6 months). Irritating! But things definitely lucked up the moment I got the nexplanon out of my arm and began my first pack of Isibloom. Because I was due for my period when I had nexplanon out of my arm, I went on to have what was a two day liner bleed. Nothing major! Especially after having spotting for 6 months. Then it was gone!! I feel happy, my face is super clear and glowy looking :) highly recommendable. I’d also advise taking a women’s vaginal ultimate floral probiotic (50-90 billion cfu’s) with your birth control daily Also. Just for your overall vaginal well being!! Eat lots of yogurt as this also has good bacteria cultures for our vaginal areas!! I feel overall amazing!"

Kariva (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I was on Kariva for a year and 4 months. I switched to it due to unwanted side effects of an IUD. Some pros of Kariva are that it’s super reliable (never had a pregnancy scare), and it did lighten my period. The negatives far outweighed the positives though. The cons were: extremely low sex drive, dryness, extreme weight gain, and increased anxiety the week before my period. I love the effectiveness of this pill but can’t stand the side effects. Switching soon and can’t wait."

Isibloom (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I received Isibloom from the Pill Club... the first month was kinda crazy. It made me extremely nauseous, my boobs hurt all the time & I definitely noticed an increase in anxiety, depression & just overall mood swings. I didn’t notice a difference with acne (but I’ve been lucky enough to never really have a problem with that). I decided to stick with it though & I'm glad I did because after my body adjusted to it, everything else levelled out. I’m now on month 3 & the ONLY issue I still have is ongoing breast tenderness & occasional breakthrough bleeding (but it’s such a small amount that it’s not troublesome or a hindrance at all). I also have not gotten pregnant so it evidently does its job. I’ve previously been on other birth control pills that literally turned me into The Incredible Hulk so the side effects from Isibloom have been relatively mild by comparison."

Kariva (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I've been on Kariva for a months now after switching from loestrin (which gave me insane mood swings and heavy discharge). My skin is good, periods are light, cramping is limited and mood is normal. But, my boobs have gotten bigger and I do notice that I have gained some weight in my upper thighs and hips."

Apri (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I have been on Apri for almost nine months and it works great for me. I was 135 pounds when I started taking it and I am now down to only 117 pounds. Also my period used to be heavy and I ended up getting it twice a month but once I started apri I now only have it for five days tops and it is absolutely fine. I used to break out really bad and my face would get really red but thanks to apri I only get a pimple every now and then and my face is no longer red. Apri works great for me I love it."

Apri (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I have been taking Apri for at least two years and have never had any problems with it. Some say it lowers sex drive but my sex life has stayed the same. This is the best pill I have taken. I have taken a lot of different kinds and I get serious headaches from taking the others. This is the only pill that I have had no side effects from. I only have my period for 2 days and they are very light. If you are in the market for a great birth control this is it. You will feel like normal and you wont have heavy periods. So take Apri."

Kariva (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I took Kariva for about 9 months. The positives include that my period was extremely predictable & it didn't last too long. It didn't affect my weight & my acne cleared up. But, the negatives outweighed the positives by far. I had experienced the worst mood swings I've ever had,I became anxious & cried multiple times a week (yet before Kariva, I was not an avid crier & was able to keep my emotions in check). I was more sad and emotionally unstable than I had ever been, and I had absolutely no motivation to work or to push myself to be happy. I noticed a small change in my mental state with the first 2 months of taking it, but thought it would level out. I kept taking it because it kept my period more regular than other pills. I switched birth controls 2 weeks ago & since I've stopped taking Kariva, even after 2 weeks, I have been the happiest & calmest I have been in months & am only realizing now just how emotionally & mentally unwell I was."

Enskyce (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I only have 3 weeks on this pill and I’ve noticed a change in my body. I gained like 7 lbs. and my pants fit so tight. I’m a very active person and go to the gym on a regular basis so I know it’s not because of my diet or exercise routine. I eat pretty healthy, I give in cravings here and there but I know it wouldn’t be to the point of gaining so much weight. I’ve also felt so sleepy, cold temperature wise, and unmotivated. I took naps after work which I don’t normally nap. I keep feeling weird tingling sensations on my arm and sometimes leg. I don’t have the same energy as I did. My sex drive is not as high. I’ll still have intercourse but won’t get so turned on"

Azurette (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "Effective at preventing pregnancy. My skin was perfect on this pill. However, I was very tired, moody, and had increased amounts of discharge which is finally what made my doctor switch me to a new birth control pill. Didn't affect my sex drive though."

Apri (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I decided to give Apri a 10/10 score because I've been on this pill for 11 months now and had absolutely no issues with it. As for clearing acne, my acne was already starting to fade away before taking the pill so I haven't had too many issues. I still break out sometimes before my period is due. My boyfriend and I have not used any back up method of birth control and I haven't gotten pregnant...so I suppose it's doing its job. But of course, I realize we still SHOULD be using a back up method. Before getting on this pill, I used to have horrible cramping and very heavy periods, lasting as long as 10 days. Now I have short, pain-free periods that last usually from Thursday to Saturday (or very light on Sunday when I begin my new pack.)"

Isibloom (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I’m 35. I was prescribed Isibloom before beginning IVF. This is first birth control that I ever had. My experience is just bad! On a pill 3 - I started having mood swings and what worse I felt like having pressure in my throat (after 6hrs of taking the pill) - all that was continue for like 10-12 hrs. On a day 4 of the pill - I got crazy - uncontrolled aggression, and started having difficulties breathing. Day 5 - I could not sleep, choked. On a day 6 of a pill I had sleepless night with having heart pain and pain at the back (in the area of a heart or longs). Today day 7 - I stop the pill, I cried the whole morning and decided to stop with the pill. Other side effects were loss weight (4pounds in 6 days), no appetite, aggression, crying, insomnia, depression, being scared of everything around. It’s a horrible for the first experience. But I thought I would let others know. Off course we are all unique and maybe what did not fit me - will be good for others."

Apri (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "The thing about birth control is that it affects everyone differently. Everyone has a different experience with different birth controls, because all of our bodies and personalities are different. While some birth controls do contain similar stories, and that is a good indicator, it is truly a different experience for each individual, so try and find one what fits you best, you might have to test a couple out."

Apri (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I have been taking Apri for about 3 or 4 years now, and I am not pregnant! So that in itself makes it a good pill. However, my periods are still fairly heavy and the cramps painful, and I suspect that the estrogen may have something to do with the migraines I experience, but I'm not sure. "

Apri (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I've been on Apri 28 for about two and a half months now, For about the first two weeks of starting it my stomach was so upset, I couldn't really eat much food. But it did go away. My breasts did get bigger and I gain a little weight but also I've been working out so I don't know if its Muscle gain or from the pill, Another thing is, My period either comes super early, like two weeks early or a week late. I know it's probably just my body not used to the pill and it won't follow the pills schedule until after 6 months of taking it, however my periods don't really hurt at all now. But I'm just sharing my journey so far in case anyone one else has been experiencing the same stuff."

Isibloom (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I've been on Isibloom since July. The first two weeks I suffered headaches and at times I felt nauseous. Since I was using this pill to skip my period, I had breakthrough bleeding for a few weeks. However, I decided to have my period this month. Before birth control I had 7 day periods that were quite heavy the first 4 days. Now my period lasted 3 days with light flow. I have not gained any weight, in fact I was able to lose 5 lbs through frequent exercise and somewhat watching my diet. My acne is under control and I rarely have blemishes."

Enskyce (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I want to share because it seems like most people only ever post reviews if their experience was negative. This Enskyce birth control has been wonderful for me. After having my Paragard taken out I needed to get back on a pill. I tried Ortho Try Cylen Lo and Yaz, both of which made me feel like I was gaining weight! Finally, my Dr. put my on this brand and I have had NO problems. I had minor blemishes (unnoticeable to everyone else) the first month. My period is light and I've had no emotional issues. While I've only been on this pill for three months, I'm really happy with this brand. With the others I could feel negative affects very quickly."

Apri (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I have taken Apri for about ten years now. The pill has helped with my acne, migraines, period regularity, and cramping. I have not had any side effects. No depression, weight gain, loss of sex drive, or any other negative side effects. I also have not gotten pregnant, so the pill is doing its job!"

Reclipsen (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I've used Reclipsen since I was 16 and have never had any problems. Most importantly, I've never gotten pregnant. It helped with my acne as a teenager, and I've never experienced mood swings. Periods are light and very regular. I gained a little weight in high school and college, but this is probably due to many other factors (quitting sports, not exercising, eating poorly, etc.) as opposed to the birth control. Both of my sisters have also switched to Reclipsen after experiencing mood swings/other problems with other birth controls and have seen good results. Highly recommend."

Apri (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I love this pill I've been using if for over 4 years now. I had some pretty bad acne and my periods were heavy and long now my face is pretty clear and my period is still a little heavy but it's super short now (4 days tops) I haven't put on any weight since I started taking the pill my significant other and I haven't use a condom in over 4 years and I haven't gotten pregnant so it works!"

Kariva (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I have tried 5 different birth control pills and Kariva has been a lifesaver. I had cysts in my ovary and Kariva shrunk it and now it is gone! I have been on Kariva for 12 months and my skin is porcelain-like, no pimples, lost a few pounds (I've been going to the gym, so it might not even be the birth control), and my mood stayed consistent. I'm switching to either the patch or the ring this month though because my sex drive has been awful for the past 4-5 months, and it's driving me (and my boyfriend) crazy! Zero sex drive and dryness are my only complaints."

Isibloom (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I have no complaints with this birth control pill Isibloomso far. I tend to be pretty sensitive to medications, but the only symptom I’ve experienced was slightly heightened anxiety for the first week or so. Once I pushed through that, everything went back to normal. My period has also been super light, which is exactly what I wanted since I usually have extremely heavy periods. Don’t let the negative reviews scare you away. This is a pretty good birth control and it’s super affordable."

Enskyce (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "HORRIBLE. My pharmacy changed the brand of my birth control three weeks ago and I have been having severe mood swings, panic attacks, depression, and anxiety. Not to mention the lowest sex drive I have ever had, and I'm only 26. The last three weeks have been a nightmare. I have a toddler and a 4 month old and quarantining with two kids under two for 10 days while being on these pills caused some VERY bad moments. I threw these out immediately once I figured out what was causing these depressive episodes. Just sharing my experience so that others don't go through what I go through. You are NOT going crazy. These pills are making you crazy. Trust me."

Apri (desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol) "I really like this birth control. When I'm not on birth control I have extremely painful menstrual cramps, very heavy periods, and crazy hormonal acne breakouts. It took about 2 and a half months to see any improvements, but my face is almost always completely clear, I have much lighter cramps, and a much lighter flow. I did feel a little nauseous for the 1st couple days, but I had no weight gain and no other adverse health or psychological complaints. The only other complaint I could state would be that within a week of taking the pill, my sex drive was almost completely gone. The main reason I am staying on the birth control is for the acne treatment! It is something I have been struggling with for years and I am so happy with the results"
