"You really need an expert to do these injections. I was fortunate to have a person who knew what to do. I am 70 years old and had the injections a year ago. I am thrilled with the results! It keeps getting better. I still have fine lines but not the deep wrinkles I had before."

"WOW.... I have had a great experience with Bellafill. I am super happy with my results, and I believe the biggest issue is finding an experienced professional to do it. It's been 4 years now, and my results are still really good. I had it put in two areas: nasal labial folds and under my eyes.... I highly recommend Bellafill to anyone, but find someone you know and trust, ask a LOT of questions, and for God's sake.... do not use discount 'coupon' type providers, generally looking for one-time clients to get experience on. (IMO) Good luck!"

"Although marketed as a 5-year filler, please be informed that this product is 100% permanent. In my case, it caused an inflammatory response of the tissues, causing swelling, redness, and lumpiness. It can also lead to nodules and granulomas. These adverse events are impossible to resolve and require surgical excision. Finding a specialist to perform the procedure is near impossible, as no physician wants to deal with these unfortunate outcomes. I am yet to find a solution for my issues. Please stay away."

"I had Restylane injected in my cheeks and smile lines. I was severely bruised with deep black and blue bruises. My cheekbone area was swollen and painful. The swelling pushed on my under-eye area, causing more wrinkles around my eyes. It was painful to lay on my sides for months, which is how I sleep. My makeup could not cover the bruising, and it lasted for about 2 weeks. My skin also peeled around the bruises. A month later, I developed two pimples on my right cheek. When popped, an opaque (not pus), cream-colored gel came out, and now my right cheek looks deflated, but the left one still feels tight and looks full. I became severely anemic a month after the injections. I have chest pain when I breathe, and I often feel faint."

"I had Bellafill injected in my smile lines late 2014 and then in my marionette lines in June 2015. I had an unfortunate experience because I have so many bumps. After almost six years, I still have bumps. I had 5FU and Kenalog injections for three years. The bumps migrate, and occasionally a new bump appears. This is all happening in the marionette lines and near my lips. Only recently, I felt bumps in my smile lines. One bump in my left marionette line is so huge that I feel it needs to be surgically removed, but plastic surgeons I have visited don’t want to touch it. The left side oozed pus about every three months for about 1 1/2 years, creating a hole. I went to a plastic surgeon to stitch together the hole, but it did not work. During surgery, she said the skin was like cottage cheese and very difficult to work with. Now I have a scar in addition to all the bumps."

"First I had numbing cream on my face, which did not work. Then a stronger one was put on my face until it was totally numb. The injection put in my face broke, and several more were put in, mainly on one side, not the other side of my face. I looked lopsided for days after and swollen like someone punched me in the side of my face. Three months later, I still have a lump under my top lip. Made not the slightest difference to the lines on my lips, no noticeable change was evident, just pain and bruising. Very unsure of having more done. This one visit cost me £200 and was told I need to spend £600 and two more sessions to see any difference. The pain was not worth it, and the look was terrible. Suddenly, I like my wrinkles. Horrible experience."

"I got Bellafill after I received a bad nose job from a surgeon who basically thought it would be a good idea to cut off the cartilage of my nose. Even then, I'd say Bellafill was the biggest mistake I've ever made in my life. The doctor who did my injection put 1 syringe on the tip of my nose in a single shot. I literally cried after seeing the results, my nose looked the same, except much wider and flatter. To put this into perspective, I'm 21 and got Bellafill in May of 2021, but it looks a little better than when I first got it done. However, I noticed that the width of my nose gets smaller when I start to work out, particularly when I sweat. Maybe like 30% smaller. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it migrating to different parts of the face. I kinda wish it would. I also thought about injecting a 5U syringe, but after reading the comments, I'm afraid that I'll have bumps start to show. For now, I'm thinking of buying those nose clips that claim to help shrink your nose."

"This is permanent and likely irreversible. If you don't like the results, or if the results are imperfect (or bad), you will be unable to undo this procedure. Please choose reversible fillers. I speak from experience. I used to feel very attractive. Now, I feel like my eyes are squished beneath bulbous cheeks. I have unnatural-looking cheekbones now due to Bellafill being used to 'build them up' in an attempt to fix deep smile lines. Please take my advice and avoid this product. Its permanent nature is a potentially ugly consequence, even if your injector is experienced."

"I received 2 injections of Bellafill on my cheeks for acne scars. I loved how it looked from the start. The doctor originally recommended 3-4 injections. After a year, I decided to return and have another injection. Again, loved my results. Another year passed, and once again went in for one more injection. It’s been 3 years since my 1st 2 injections, and I couldn’t be happier! Friends and family comment on how great my skin looks now."

"Like the other reviews - DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. I was 'dating' a doctor that owned a medical spa, and he wanted to inject under my eyes to make them smooth. He ended up using Bellafill, and well, unfortunately for me, it's been 5 years, and now I have visible lumps under my eyes that are permanent!! I wish I would have looked at the reviews prior to him giving me a 'free' treatment. I will make an appointment with a plastic surgeon that can hopefully help me. I guess it's not 'free' after all if I need to pay to remove it!!!!"

"I am amazed at these negative reviews. I have had Bellafill injections on the upper cheeks and nasolabial folds twice over 7 years by a board-certified plastic surgeon. The results were no less than perfect, although I did have injection bruising around the right eye that was slow to heal. I probably moved during the injection as it is painful and caused the bruise. It took 10 days to clear up. Other than that, results were no less than spectacular in removing embedded lines and plumping up my aging cheeks. (I am 71 - had the first injection at 64.) I think it's important to see a board-certified plastic surgeon, not an aesthetician, who has lots of experience with Bellafill. My doc flies around the world training other physicians in Bellafill, and I will continue to return every 5 years."

"Due to waiting for delayed oral surgery, I developed lines around my lips and saggy jowls. My dermatologist recommended this product. It was injected in those areas over three courses to correct for lumps and leakage. I’m not happy with the deep crow's feet that are worse now than what they looked like before. Not happy with my doctor."

"Surprised to see so many negative ratings. This is a GREAT product. Nothing like it. I gave it 8 stars instead of 10 because the amount of permanent correction per syringe is small. At the original price of $1000 per syringe, I do NOT think the product would be worth it because of this. At $500 per syringe, it's definitely worth it. Be careful about your injector, I used one of the most experienced injectors in the country. So far, 10 syringes in cheeks and nasolabial folds, and there's more to go for the reasons I mentioned. My face has a softer glow, and the smile lines are improved, but more to go."

"My left side of my mouth went down due to nerve damage on the left side of my mouth. The doctor recommended this product, Bellafill. I never had a filler before. I walk around with confidence now that I do not look sad or have a crooked mouth. Bellafill changed my life. Thank you. It’s been 2 years, and the results are amazing still!"

"I’m having terrible lumps on my lips 5 years later. They are constantly inflamed. Which I read that Bellafill isn’t even approved for lips. Bad granulomas have formed. Run from this product. We should all have a lawsuit for pain and suffering."

"I had a horrible experience with Bellafill. I was bruised very badly, and I couldn't go out of my house without a mask on. It is over 1 month later, and I have black, like dark under my right eye, and still a small bruise. I have lumping on various areas of my face. My skin looks 10x worse than it did before Bellafill, as if it aged me 10 years. I'm just sick about it. I have a lot of pics I kept, each day, showing how devastating an experience it was. I did everything prior I was told to do and everything post-treatment, and still a horrible experience. I had three vials of it. I would never do it again!! What a waste of money, and my skin is ruined. It isn't for everyone!!!!"

"I'm in a nightmare. Bellafill is the devil. Over a year ago, I was injected with 1 syringe of Bellafill on each side of my cheeks. I was told by the doctor who injected it that it will last up to 5 years. I never liked the look of it, since I have a skinny face and large cheeks, but I figured out that it would go away. About 2 months ago, I was injected with Voluma on my lower face and nasolabial folds to balance out my face. Three days after, my cheeks became red with a burning sensation, and when I smile, I look like a chipmunk!!! with 2 ridiculous round balls on my face. Also, my cheeks can become aggravated easily if it's hot or if I rub my face with a towel. I also noticed that my cheeks became bigger in size, and from reading online, I understand that Bellafill is permanent and also stimulates collagen, which makes my cheeks grow. Will my cheeks continue to grow forever??? Is there any safe way to reverse the Bellafill?"

"My doctor administered two syringes of Evolence to my face, the nasolabial folds, and a little around my bottom lip. The results were fantastic. There was no bruising, hardly any swelling. I am waiting to see how long-lasting it is."

"There is no good reason to use this filler. Had it injected 12 years ago (when it was called Artecoll) and thought I'd done enough research to feel safe with it. I didn't have very much product injected, but even a small amount is too much. 3 years ago, I started feeling lumps where the product was placed. Now the lumps are visible, itchy, and broken vessels have discolored my skin only in the areas where the filler was injected. Some of the filler has started to break off into smaller lumps. Turns out it may take years for your body to react to Bellafill. After several consultations with filler experts and plastic surgeons, I have come to the very distressing conclusion that the only resolution is surgery."

"About 7 years ago in St. Pete, I had 5 injections of ArteFill by a national award-winning doctor, mostly for lines above my lips. At the time, I was super pleased. Several years later, I noticed my upper lip lowered. I cannot smile. My upper lip is below my teeth. I look like a monkey trying to smile. My family is annoyed at me because now, at age 70, I never smile at the most delightful events, such as weddings and grandchildren's birth! Just an awful experience. I am told the ArteFill dropped and settled lower and lower, pulling my lip down."

"Horrific. I had filler on Saturday (I've had this done 2x prior year by the same Dr and no issues). My entire face became super swollen 4 days later, and I have a massive, hot, painful, shiny rash all over my face, forehead, ears, neck, and now my chest. I look 30 years older and not even like me. Hard to keep my eyes open. Haven't been to work in days. The Dr seemed like I did something wrong. He is hours away. He prescribed methylprednisolone. Started today, but I don't notice any difference yet. Actually, the rash is far worse. I don't know what to do. If you are reading this and considering any HA filler, do NOT do it!"

"I had Bellafill injections done five years ago. I have seven permanent lumps around my lips. They are painful when they get caught by chewing. They make kissing difficult! It was the absolute worst thing that I ever did for my face, all just to get rid of a couple of wrinkles. As with all the other reviews, run, don’t walk away from the office!!!!! Do not do this to yourself… you are beautiful as is, and I am quite certain that additional lumps in your face will not add to your beauty."

"I think I am one of the 3 percent here that had a good experience with Artefill/Bellafill. It is only supposed to be used in the lips. I would never put it under my eyes. In 2008, I had Artefill injected into my lips, and then in 2010, Bellafill. My lips are still plump, they used to be flat! It is now almost 2020, 10 years later, my lips are still plump. It has gone down a tiny bit, but it feels like the scar tissue around the microbeads nicely grew around them to naturally form pouty lips. I want to do it a 3rd time, this time with 2 syringes, so I can have the look I would like and leave them forever, never have to think about fillers in my lips again. I swear by Bellafill. DO NOT put a permanent microbeaded product under your eyes. I will be using Juvéderm under my eyes since I turned 30, I just have some mild hollowness. I get 22-23, I guess a bit of makeup and good skin care hides the fact my skin's changing at 30."

"I had a very positive experience with Bellafill. Excellent results that continue to improve over time. I'm a senior citizen but I don't look it in my face. I needed filling out in the temples and eye wrinkles on the sides of my face. I received Botox in my forehead, which has a more youthful effect as well. Together, the result is very rested, healthy skin. I do take good care of my face with cleansing and protecting against the harmful UV rays. But I must admit that it is fairly recent that I have done so."

"I did Bellafill injections on my cheeks. Dr. was absolutely great, with a great reputation. He told me it can happen that filler turns to lumps or something similar, and the only way to remove it is surgically. I still decided to do it. But, the result was zero. I called and went to see him. He injected another one (for free) and said he cannot explain what happened. Again, nothing. I lost my money, but... my only explanation is my age. I'm 60 years old."
