Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "Started using Intrarosa for vaginal dryness and after a few days began having some pretty serious anxiety issues and high blood pressure. Never put it together that the Intrarosa could be the culprit until now. Stopped using it two days ago and blood pressure is back to normal and anxious feelings are gone. So glad I found others that had the same issue and it isn't just me. Will stick with the Monalisa touch and natural lubricants from now on."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I used Intrarosa for only 1 week. I simply could not take the oily discharge and oily residue that was left in my panties. Panty liners and pads would no longer stick to my panties and the oily residue passed thru to my pants and ruined a pair of my pants. I attempted to launder my panties but could not get the residue out (I tried Dawn dishwashing liquid also). After washing and drying my panties, the oily residue "hardened and stiffened" my panties. I threw them all away. I just felt very unclean and oily from the discharge while using Intrarosa."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I have been on Intrarosa for 3 months now, very little improvement with my vaginal atrophy/ GSM issues. No side effects noticed and I am one who is very sensitive to meds. I will say if you try it make sure you put it in right before bed, I got up to pee after I had it in about 45 minutes and it fell out into the toilet. It's not working for me , I will be switching to Yuvafem Estradiol Vaginal tablet tomorrow. I did have a $35.00 month coupon from Dr. For Intrarosa."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "First night taking Intrarosa I experienced insomnia then abdominal cramping around 3 or 4 am. Thought maybe I had a stomach flu but felt better later in the morning. Second night, insomnia again and woke up at 4 am with severe abdominal cramps.… like I was in labor. Pain was so intense I considered going to the hospital, but got better later in the morning. Also had some mild bleeding and decided this was definitely not for me. Stopped taking this and symptoms went away. Didn’t see any on these symptoms listed as side effects of this drug, but was relieved to see others on this thread experienced the same. Also, expensive."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I was on intrarosa daily for 17 days. The last time I used it, I had vaginal burning and urinary urgency. Also had constant abdominal bloating and gas. I am not taking any other med, so I suppose it’s this. Have stopped for 2 days and still having these symptoms."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "Upon waking after the 2nd night's use, I found I had significant fatty residue on my underwear, which had leaked to the insides of my thighs and on my sheets. The fatty base in which the product is suspended melts and then leaks out of the vagina. I'm theorizing that the experience would be similar to going to bed with a tablespoon of Crisco inserted in the vagina. I stopped use at this point, so cannot speak to the efficacy of the drug itself."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "It was okay as a medicine but not better than Vagifem. The packaging was awful-a struggle to get the foil peeled down enough to use. I did not like having to use nightly. The carrier substance (something oil based, I think) soaked into my underwear and wouldn't wash out, leaving the fabric stiff. I didn't see any benefits over the twice-weekly small tablet (Vagifem)."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) "I just started. Noticed some burning and swelling the next day after using which made my bladder feel swollen. The melted oil was ok the next day. I noticed some very small tiny white specs also in the morning in the discharge from the pessary. This was the morning after the first day. I am very nervous about this as in the last year I became prone to yeast infections. I’m 52. Never had a yeast infection my whole life. Premarin vaginal cream and vagifem started the problem. I will rate again later after longer use."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I used this for about 4 months and, even though my doc said this wouldn’t have any side effects, I believe it triggered moderate hair loss. I discontinued 6 months ago and am still trying to treat my hair loss."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I am 67 and used Intrarosa for 3 months for Low sex drive and vaginal atrophy and it changed my life. I have been lucky with no side effects, my vagina felt it was 30 years old and my energy and sex drive came back. Unfortunately in the UK there is a shortage and I have been waiting 6 weeks for it so far and had to move to Imvaggis which just doesn't have the same effect."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) "I started using Intrarosa 2 years ago at age 50 due to increasing dryness and extremely painful intercourse. The thought of daily vaginal inserts was very off putting considering I hated tampons. However, I was desperate. I was becoming physically uncomfortable in my everyday life, with or without sex. It worked like a charm. Still mild pain at the beginning of penetration, but nothing compared to before. Now, my insurance will not cover it so I have to try Premarin. I’m not happy, but I’ll give it a go reluctantly. If not, I’m willing to pay to go back to Intrarosa. The only real pain is the underwear replacement costs. It’s a bit messy. However, it was worth it to me. No more daily constant burn."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "Terribly expensive even with my insurance. I have not used it consistently due to several factors. The packaging is a real struggle to open - mood dampener. I keep my nails short (live on a farm) & end up trying 2 or 3 different inserts before I get one opened. Tabs are too short!! and on wrong end of insert!! The excess of oil that leaks out once I am upright is a mess! All over my vulvar area & inner thighs, in the sheets, on my partner. I prefer to sleep naked & the next morning it is draining into my underwear. No color as some have complained of but hard to wash out. Why not use a SMALLER insert with same amount of med in it?? Also huge amount of plastic waste is unnecessary. We are all capable of washing & reusing insert tube. I am looking for a more user friendly, less expensive, more ecological product without the crazy side effects that many have experienced."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) "I am reporting back after starting this product for 10 days. At first, it burned the next day. But I kept using it to see if it changed. Glad I did because I no longer am in pain while sitting and I’m not feeling the urge to urinate every 15 minutes. I am not dry. I have noticed that it works really well if you pee before bed and then use it. Hit the hay and insert high inside. Don’t get out of bed unless you really have to. The oil is minimal but just shower in the morning. I have noticed that in the morning I feel a little nauseated. Lasts until noon or so. Also, I feel totally sleepy. I have been checking my blood pressure and it’s all over the place. Lower in the morning and creeps up in the afternoon. I like what the product does for the atrophic vaginitis and bladder symptoms but I will see what my doctor says about the other symptoms tomorrow."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I've tried many medications over the years for my vaginal pain (happens after I pee). Gabapentin, Elmiron, Amitriptyline, Lyrica, various creams and muscle relaxants 3 times a day (this actually did help for a while). I don't even think my urogynecologist knows why this has been happening. Something to do with my pelvic floor muscles having 'spasms' and urinating sets it off. I had to discontinue them either because they didn't help or they had nasty side effects. Intrarosa was a miracle for me. Pain was gone after 1 week - I was SO happy, until my hair started falling out. I didn't make the connection at first. Then I searched the reviews and severe hair loss caused many to stop taking this. So I had a good cry and I stopped taking it. Currently trying Carson's Vitamin E suppositories. They do help somewhat. Have a phone appointment in a couple of weeks with my specialist. Either I have to find something to help with the hair loss or I'll try something else - possibly Ospemifene."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "It's only my 3rd week using Intrarosa. I have not slept more than a couple of hours each night since. It's also caused me to feel hot flashes I never had before its use. At this time, I will stop for a month and hope sleep returns and try again in the future."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I was prescribed Intrarosa after trying HRT gel, ovestin and vagirux - none of which did any good. Intrarosa really suited me and I liked the oiliness as it helped with dryness. Unfortunately at time of writing there is a shortage and no longer available at the moment. Nurse has prescribed ovestin/estriol cream which is not good for me."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I am perimenopause and my primary struggle is with nocturia (for many years) or bladder urgency/frequency at night - it is miserable. Lesser struggles are insomnia and hot flashes. My dr gave me a sample of this a few days ago so I'm only 3 days in - too early to see if it will help so I will update this later. So far no side effects or improvement. I'm curious if anyone here has dealt with nocturia and found anything that helped (I've been fully evaluated by internist, urologist, and gyn)."

For Dyspareunia "I find this medication dehydroepiandrosterone helpful with incontinence, vaginal atrophy, painful intercourse, and the list goes on. What I read a lot here is about the oily like staining and how difficult it is to get out of your clothes. For that I would look at what kind of laundry detergent you are using. I know that persil proclean is not the cheapest laundry detergent but it works for all of our laundry needs and does an excellent job at not leaving any stains from the use of this prescription drug. I would suggest you try it because that seems to be the most predominant complaint here. Hope that helps"

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "Having history of sarcoma and with family history of cervical cancer, I would not play with hormone therapy and had to let nature take its course. Started using Intrarosa the year I noticed a little dryness during intercourse. My OB-GYN recommended Intravexx or Intrarosa. I adapted better to Intrarosa, using it at first every 3-4 days. In my second year of full menopause, I use it every day and sometimes every other day - plenty of happy sex and no pain. Cons: The packaging sucks! The suppositories come in hard plastic that is terrible to open and the box is not efficient. But it works! I've never slept with underwear and if I'm wearing black nightgowns, it stains the sheets - wear light colors or underwear when using Intrarosa. Sometimes we use lube for sex - they do not interfere with the Intrarosa use."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "This product actually works! I do use it a little differently than prescribed. I cut the suppositories in half and use one half a couple of times per week along with generic vaginal estrogen cream once or twice a week on alternating days. That regimen cuts down on my exposure to hormones, saves money, and is much less messy than a full dose of Intrarosa daily."
