Cyproheptadine "Being small my whole life, I thought I’d be small forever. I tried everything I could to gain weight and nothing worked. "All my life, I've been a 'grazer,' as my mum has said, so I've always stayed the same weight. I'm 33 and 5 ft 9 in now and went through a rough patch due to stress and illness and went down from 70 kg to 62 kg rapidly. I've used a lot of protein powders to try and gain, but really my diet, lifestyle, and not getting enough calories in me is the problem. So I thought I'd look into other possibilities that people who suffer with no appetite, and after a bit of searching, I found Cyro-Vita, which is the brand here. Six days in, and I've not weighed myself yet, however, I'm finishing off large meals with ease and feel hungry all the time, which is a big deal for me. First night, 4 mg, I slept for 16 hours, so went down to 2 mg before bed from then on. All good!"

"After seeing all these reviews, I really thought I would gain weight too. Well, it's been 1 week, and I felt really sleepy for 3 days, and I looked as if I had gained weight on my face. I was really happy, but after the 4th day, I think the weight gain on my face disappeared. I feel hungry after 1 pm. I want to eat something all the time, but I don't think I'm gaining weight. I'm thinking about increasing the pills dosage to 3 times a day now!"

"I have struggled with low weight and bony arms since childhood, which made me very uncomfortable around others. My inability to gain weight now is impaired by the ADHD stimulant medications; they completely wipe away your appetite. As for the cyproheptadine, I remember having amazing results, and my body 'filled in' for the first time. The only thing is that if you take SSRI antidepressants, cyproheptadine, to simply put it, is a 5-HT (serotonin) antagonist. In addition to the cypro, I also take Marinol and Zyprexa, all of which should significantly increase one's appetite for sure."

"I started taking this well over a year ago, it's amazing! I've always been under my BMI weight. When I first started taking the syrup, I was 5'6" and weighed 6 pounds, 11 stone at the age of 22, after having my 1st baby. A year on, I weighed 8 st, but when I became pregnant, I started losing all my weight due to morning sickness. After 3 months of constant morning sickness, I decided to try and start taking Apetamin again! And it's fantastic. Not only is it completely helping me with my morning sickness, it's helping me put on weight and keep it on, which can only be a good thing for my baby. I hope this is helpful for any other pregnant mothers who are losing weight dramatically due to morning sickness, there is hope."

"Wow, just wow. These pills are magic. I had problems with trying to gain weight for years, and I was always skinny. I've been taking them for 2 weeks, and I gained 21 lbs, mauling that fridge like a bear. For example, I used to struggle with one plate of rice, now I can eat 3 plates of rice and still get hungry after 1 hour, like I didn't eat for a whole day. Even helped me finally get a good night's sleep, they helped me be more fearless and confident (I don't know how :D). But definitely the biggest downside is that these pills made me constantly tired and sleepy throughout the day. I could barely even function, and sometimes I even looked like I was drunk. "Was on the drug last May, and in 3 weeks I gained 30 pounds. I stopped because I was comfortable with the weight I had gained and have been off since June and have maintained my weight over the past 3 months. Was drowsy the first 3 days, but it went away. Would recommend to anyone trying to gain weight, but I wouldn’t recommend it long term."

"Cyproheptadine I have been taking for about 2 years. After you have reached your weight gain, once you stop taking it, you will lose weight just as fast as you put it on. "I eventually thought my weight problems were over. I was high as a kite and couldn't wait to start taking them after reading all the positives about them. Alas, it was the most disappointing thing that's happened to me. They did nothing for me, not even the sleepiness occurred that people posted about. I just decided to be determined and eat as much as I could, but as much as I eat, I'm still stuck on 8 stone, 4 stone less than my norm. I can only assume it is other meds I'm on that are blocking them from working. So despondent."

"1 - My 11 yo was placed on this to 'increase her appetite.' Guess what? It's hard to eat when you're sleeping all the time. 10 mg, 1st day I gave it to her on Friday she slept for 18 hours! For 1 week, I was scared to give it to her before school. So I restarted her by cutting it in half, and after 5 days, I gave her the whole 10 mg. Today I got THE CALL from her teacher. She is telling her friends she wants to DIE!!! PILLS ARE IN THE TRASH CAN!"
