"in response to the clonidine and anxiety. I've found that Vistaril (Atarax) does the same to me, it's supposed to be for anxiety (non-narcotic), and it's also for allergies (so it's like a prescription Benadryl, lol), but it makes me the opposite of calm, lol. So I hear you. What helps 20 others has the opposite effect on 1. Guh, it's that 1%, lol. I've fallen into the 1% category, lol."

"Exhausted to the point of having to sleep during the day, which I never do. Burning eye pain. Does not help me sleep for eight hours. Taking it only to sleep. So far, not particularly happy. Exhausted! Probably going to ask for an alternative. On to yet another. Extreme dry mouth. Yuk!"

"I was put on 0.1 mg of clonidine for a month now due to hydroxyzine having no/minimal effect on my anxiety/panic disorder but just making me feel and act like a zombie. I am taking this in conjunction with 1.5 tablets of 0.50 mg sertraline a day for my depression/anxiety. I was diagnosed with PTSD, panic disorder, GAD, and mild depression. The depression has cleared up, however, I feel as if my panic attacks have increased since starting this pill. I still wake up every morning 3-6 hours before my alarm with a pounding heart, tremors, difficulty breathing, and a heavy pressure on my chest. I keep the clonidine on my bedside table and take 1/2 a tablet after attempting to calm down for about 30 minutes. The pill works to put me back asleep, but the panic remains until then, albeit dimmed a bit. I have started having a lot of chest pain or pressure on my chest due to the frequency of the attacks and anxiety, as it is an everyday thing. Dosage may need to be increased for more effective treatment?"

"I've been taking clonidine since 6 months. I was taking clonazepam for 26 years, and I needed something to manage the benzo withdrawals, which were horrible. My doctor prescribed 0.1 twice a day. This medication for me is the game changer. I was so crippled with anxiety from benzo withdrawal, I didn't want to be around anyone, scared to leave the house, and was a complete mess. Since taking clonidine, all those attacks are gone. The only negative I can say about it is the dry mouth. I'd recommend trying this, especially for those of you experiencing benzo withdrawal. "My psychiatrist prescribed me 0.1 mg 3 times a day for my anxiety and panic attack disorder. I literally have between 8 to 12 attacks daily and anxiety from the moment I wake up until I hopefully get some sleep using Zzzquil or Benadryl. My condition has only gotten worse, and this psychiatrist I see is very rude, judgmental, and speaks down to me like I am dirt. I really hope no one else has a doctor like this. She's very unprofessional and says things to belittle me for the last 4 visits. I literally cried in my car for 10 minutes after seeing her last time. She made me feel horrible about myself. Also, she left me without medication for 2 weeks. I need to find a new doctor immediately."
