"For the longest, I have had a problem with breakouts on my face, mostly on my forehead and chin area. However, I must say this gel is the truth! I have been using it for 6 months now and may have had one breakout in the beginning since I've been using it. I'm so glad I gave it a try, my skin looks great, and I haven't had to deal with those sometimes painful acne breakouts."

"You have to be patient with this cream. It took 5 months of breaking out before my skin was pretty much fully clear. It’s worth the wait. I no longer have to worry about a spot popping up every day or painful acne spots."

"I used this for one month with little to no results on my face; on my chest, it cleared up the clogged pores very quickly. I'll be switching back to Epiduo, a stronger retinoid and less risky antiseptic (topical antibiotics pose the risk of creating antibiotic-resistant bacteria). After seeing that most of you experienced notable improvement within a month, if not a few weeks, I'm forfeiting this treatment."

"I have had minor acne since sophomore year of college (now graduated). I'm afraid my dermatologist has not been good about following up with me long-term, so I've probably been misusing the medication for a while. It clears up my clogged pores really nicely (yay!), but there are still lots of blackheads, and sometimes the clogged pores stay there a long time. I'm a skin picker (bad), so that has aggravated my acne from touching my face and caused some minimal scarring, which I can easily cover up with makeup. One of my least favorite things about this medicine is that, although it clears most of my clogged pores, I have noticed an increase in painful cystic acne around hotspots (potentially due to the onset of hormonal acne)."

"I have been using Ziana for about 6-7 months, and it has made my acne better, but it makes my face EXTREMELY oily and peely at the same time. The first 2 months, I guess I was better off without Ziana, but after that, it slowly got better. At the moment, my skin still isn't clear, but it's gotten better."

"I never broke out in my teenage years, but once I hit my mid-20s, I constantly battled adult acne. No matter how well I took care of my face and washed it, I couldn't get rid of stubborn acne. I decided to go to the dermatologist, and at first, he tried to prescribe me a separate antibiotic and Retin-A cream until I told him I didn't have insurance and if there was one product that would be similar in one. I'm so glad he mentioned Ziana. It was pricey out of pocket, but he gave me a coupon-type card for the pharmacy to drop it down to $65 rather than $300! (good for 6 refills) I didn't have the side effects that others mentioned, rather, my acne cleared up within a month! SIDE NOTE: USE A SPARING AMOUNT! A little goes a long way."

"I had the same problem with the start of this product as others mentioned before-it does break you out for the first few months (I think 2-3 months). However, after that short period of problems, it got better, and my face started to clear up. I have been taking birth control with this product to control my hormonal balance. The birth control does the job overall, but whenever I get a few pop-up pimples, I put the Ziana on it for like 2 days, and it pretty much kills the pimple. I can't use Ziana every day because it DOES dry out your skin. So I WOULDN'T recommend this be in your daily skin routine. After your face gets used to the product, I'd say use it for controlling spots."

"Product had pretty much zero impact on my acne. I used it daily, sometimes twice daily for a year, and there have been no results. The product can be pricey as well. I'm not sure it's worth it. At least it wasn't for me."

"I had started acne on my chin and my forehead, and nothing worked! I was really confused because I always take so much time prepping my skin, but this product made my acne leave! I do have a little more oily skin now because of it making my skin dry, but that doesn't bother me."

"So this medication, in combination with a Benzac wash 10%, has really done a number on me. I had perfectly normal skin, then got some kind of bacterial skin infection which caused an overnight breakout (over 100 whiteheads on my face and neck). Was put on Med, and it disappeared... then slowly started to come back as acne. So I was put on Bianca and Benzac wash, which made it insanely worse. It clears up, then my skin purges, then it clears up, then it purges. It’s been doing this for 2 months now. Not sure what to think. I am a flight attendant, and my skin does an overnight breakout also when I do long flights in the dry environment. Seems like every time it seems manageable, it breaks out overnight. Has anyone else had these experiences?"

"My rating of 7 out of 10 is mostly just based on my hope that this is a 10. Was using TactuPump (adapalene and benzoyl peroxide) but had far too bad hyperpigmentation. I'm white as a ghost, so it looked like I was using tanning lotion or something. Biacna (Canadian name for the same drug as Ziana) has really made a mess of my face so far. I'm going to suffer through it for a couple more weeks. (It's only been one week so far). At least it's not tanning my face. So disappointed I couldn't tolerate the TactuPump. It worked really, really well. Side effects just weren't 'doable' - Biacna has so far just made my face break out like crazy and triggered a bout of rosacea around my cheeks close to my nose. Totally dry. No moisturizer has helped. I'm just trying to suck it up and deal with it for a while longer. Thanks to all who share here, your experiences really help knowing I'm not some weird case."

"I've been using Ziana since May every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and there are no results. It is now the end of July, and my acne is worse. I read on the website just today to apply it every night, nothing on there says every other night like my doctor said. I have been battling acne for 17 years, and this is getting stressful. I have gone through every treatment you can think of, and now I'm starting to give up. I've even looked this bad."

"HERE WE GO... New product. I search all products before taking them, I read all reviews and make my choice to try the product. I will try this, but I will follow through and tell you my experience! Here is some info about me. I am 26 years old (female), hormonal imbalance (cyst), and bumpy cheeks. I get under-the-skin cysts that pop up once a month, sometimes two to three at a time. If I mash them, nothing really comes out, but it leaves holes in my face. The bumps on my cheeks are around my ears and where I would apply blush. I changed out my brushes, by the way. Anyways, other than that I have moderate skin, no severe acne. I am fair-skinned and I'm a combination skin type. I go from oily by the end of the day with flakes under my makeup (lol)"

"I do not recommend Ziana at all. I have had a terrible experience. I applied Ziana 2x, followed the instructions perfectly. I applied it Tuesday night at bedtime, I washed and dried my face and waited at least 30 minutes to apply a pea-sized amount to my face. Wednesday I woke up, my face was red, but not bad. I applied again Wednesday night the exact same way. When I woke up Thursday morning, my face had red blotches and was itchy. As the day went on, my face got progressively worse: red blotches, tiny blisters, skin peeling off, severe pain, and stinging. I immediately stopped using Ziana. Today is Saturday, and my face has only continued getting worse. I went back to the dermatologist, got 2 scripts, my face is now bleeding."

"I have minor acne and have recently been prescribed Ziana. I feel like my dermatologist just threw this at me and said, 'Hey, try this.' After a week of using it, my acne did not get better or worse, it just stopped. But what really bugs me is that my skin got extremely oily. If you had seen my face, you would have thought I just ran a goddamn marathon."

"I used this product in combination with Aczone prescribed by the dermatologist. I'm very disappointed. The acne didn't improve at all. I have the impression that this gel worsened the skin. I have stopped using it after 2 weeks."

"DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!! It made me break out like never before. I had barely any acne before I began this product, but wanted to get rid of my occasional pimple for good. My dermatologist prescribed me this, and I used it for a little over a week. My face has never been so dry, irritated, and worst of all, covered in acne. I had a huge breakout on my chin, and yes, this may just be the initial purge, but it ruins your skin, and it's hard to recover from this. I was so depressed during this week and actually felt like a worthless human being because my face looked so bad. Don't trust these harsh skin products!!!"

"My daughter, age 14, had mild acne. This gel has worked miracles. It is crazy expensive, but a small tube lasted 6 months. Made the skin a bit dry, but worth the trade-off."
