Prepopik (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Used for colonoscopy prep since it was the smallest amount to drink over the longest time. Tasted like sprite. Drank 7 8 oz glasses of water over next hour. 90 minutes and had 3 explosions. Then 2 more glasses of water until 2nd dose 5 hrs later. 2 glasses of water, 30 minutes later, awful stomach cramps, dizziness, numb fingers and toes, dry mouth. Thought I was going to pass out from the pain. Worse than labor pains! Took 30 minutes to pass. Went to bed exhausted. Definitely cleaned me out!"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Clenpiq definitely did the job but I had an awful headache during cleansing but the side effects I had in the days following my procedure led me to a visit to my cardiologist who told me that Clenpiq contains a high rate of sodium. I have hypertension and take meds that control it very well but after taking Clenpiq my BP rose dangerously high for 3 consecutive days following the procedure! My BP gradually returned to normal ranges by 4th day because it take 3 days for this med to clear your system! Don’t recommend anyone who has hypertension issues to take this as a prep! I will try Miralax prep next time!"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Clenpiq works but the problem is the packaging. The first bottle was very difficult to open. The second was impossible. My daughter couldn't open it either -- no one could. At 5 am I had to find a hacksaw to cut it open and drip the contents into a glass. Others have commented online about the ridiculous bottle. It's insane that a company charges $170 for a product that literally cannot be opened at stressful time."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Did not work for me. After first dose, violent cramping, wicked headache, nausea, vomiting, chills. Could not take the second dose and had to cancel procedure doe to incomplete cleansing of bowel. All in all, a miserable day of clear liquid diet and attempted cleansing for nothing."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "My first colonoscopy. Easy-to-read bullet points: - Not nearly as bad as I expected it to be. - Taste is very sweet: not terrible. The two servings are easy to get thru. - I have emetophobia (scared of vomiting) so I took a Dramamine 1 hour before each dose. I think this (+ staying hydrated) helped. - Didn’t bother leaving the toilet for 3 hours both doses. The first bowel movements started about 1 hour after the 1st dose, sooner after the 2nd. Was up a few times thru the night too. - Mild nausea after the first dose, it went away. Bad bloating after both doses, mostly went away after BMs started. Mild off and on headache. - Worst side effect by far is the booty pain. Two words: Liquid fire. Not even aloe wipes stood up to the raw pain, but they helped a little. - I put a step stool in front of the toilet to use as a Squatty Potty and it helped a lot, highly recommend. 8/10: Overall easy process, about as pleasant as possible, but the taste isn’t great and the few side effects weren’t fun."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "I was deeply afraid of the prep. The Clinpiq prep was the size of a child’s water bottle. It didn’t taste great but it was so tolerable! I did split prep and no issues! No cramps, stomach aches or nausea. The second dose in the AM really kicked in but I was totally clean for the prep. I would recommend this to anyone - this prep is easy!"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "I’ve had several colonoscopies in the past two years. Clenpic was by far the easiest to take. As these preps go, the flavor was the easiest for me to drink. I really liked that I could drink the needed amount of clear liquids over a five hour period. So when I need another colonoscopy at the end of this year, I will request Clenpic, that is unless they come out with a pill!"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "the prep was administered as directed. the cleanse was inadequate. I had to have 2 enemas prior to procedure because I did not feel as though I was adequately prepped. Even so, the capable Doctor was unable to get an adequate read and I have been instructed to return in one year. Choose an alternate prep kit so you do not miss a day of work and burden the medical community with a failed procedure. No-one wants this."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Followed the directions to a tee, went without food for three days, went to have colonoscopy have to go back because my bowels weren't clean enough. Told by doctor that because I am diabetic some feces stuck to my colon. I was having movements of pure water that morning This isn't my first rodeo, have uses Mirialax and ducolax for $30 for past colonoscopies with a one day purge with no problem. Of all of the cleansing agents available it is by far the most expensive at $157 now I have to go without eating for another day which will make it 84 hrs ,doc gave me a bottle of some other cleansing agent which actually worked. This product is nothing more than a big pharma money maker, I wouldn't doubt that those that prescribe it are getting kickbacks in the form of paid for vacations or some other form of payment (as well having to repeat procedure)"

Prepopik (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Aside from the out of pocket cost ($130.00 for me) I would recommend this drug. It was effective in cleaning out my colon without having to drink copious amounts of fluid. I chose the Orange flavor and it reminded me of powdered Tang orange juice - not unpleasant at all. Better chilled if possible. I followed the split dose regimen. It took about 90 minutes for the first dose to start working, but the process lasted about 2 hours. I did experience a slight, passing feeling of nausea at first, but it subsided once things got moving. The second dose, next morning, took about the same amount of time to work, but the process only lasted about an hour, My physician reported that colon prep was "excellent"."

Prepopik (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Due to a genetic condition that gives me a propensity for colon cancer, I've had more than 25 colonoscopies in the past 40 years and now have them annually. Prepopik changed my life. I used to dread the prep like the plague (the procedures are a piece of cake, and I do them without drugs!) but now, other than a little sleep deprivation, Prepopik makes it easy. I understand some people have trouble tolerating the stuff, but I've had no side effects and no problems."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Paid $90 with insurance for Clenpiq. Tastes like chemicals, so foul, nasty and vile. Managed to drink the bottle at 5 pm (took 30 min to get it down). Felt nauseous trying to drink it. Drank the recommended water after. Had to do 2nd bottle at 10 pm with more water. Felt nauseous all night. You can only drink liquids so you have to drink this horrible concoction on an empty stomach. I never want to go through a bowel prep again. Thank God the bottles are small. I would rather have enemas, just saying..."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Well, I shouldn't have read some of the reviews. I think it was the best Prep. Wasn't bad at all. Took the first prep at 6 pm and it started working an hour later and I wasn't up all night. The second prep was at 5:30 am. Everything went fine and I had my colonoscopy at 10.20 am. Don't be afraid to take this."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "First of all this prep is full of artificial sweeteners. I actually have a sensitivity to those as many do, and evacuate them quickly. I had all clear liquids the day before as directed. The first bottle worked in 45 minutes and then I spent every hour in the bathroom spilling liquid from my behind. Pretty sure I was prepped for the next days procedure by 10 pm. I could see through the toilet water. I drank my 5 cups of water right away. Had an EGD scheduled along with the colonoscopy so I knew I couldn’t have anything to eat or drink past about 5 am. Reluctantly, drank the second bottle around midnight. Set an alarm to get up and drink water. Had to use A&D ointment on my bottom before 9pm...Taste was awful. Salty and horrible artificial sweetener mix with absent cranberry. But the up side was the small dose. Would definitely recommend having both doses though before midnight to be all done with movements pre- procedure."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Clenpiq was definately not a good prep for a colonoscopy. Took as directed, followed the instructions which were simple. Was not properly cleansed for my procedure in which I had to be administered an enema to further clear my bowels. Will not take again in the future."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "I used Clenpiq for the first time. At first, I believed it cleaned me out. I drank one bottle at 5:00 PM, followed by 40 ounces of water over 4 hours. I repeated with a second bottle at 9:00 PM, followed by an additional 40 ounces of water until 1:00 AM. I was up until 4:00 AM having bowel movements. At 11:00 AM, I underwent my 4th colonoscopy. When I awoke, the nurse told me the doctor/surgeon was not happy with me because I did not prep properly. I did! He talked to me an hour later and said he couldn’t do a complete colonoscopy because of dark stool. I told him that this was a first for me and that I did everything as per the Clenpiq instructions and his. I drank more water than the instructions called for, which my doctor/surgeon advised me to. I am embarrassed and humiliated. I decided to do some homework and found out this can happen with any prep kit. I will never use Clenpiq again or go back to the doctor who performed the colonoscopy."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "I followed all of the instructions for the prep to the tee, but it did not work for me. I drank the first bottle at 8:30pm and did not have a bowel movement the entire night. I had more than the recommended amount of liquid after the prep. I drank the second bottle 5 hours before my procedure and it worked, but I don't think well enough to have the procedure. I am going to cancel my colonoscopy because I am nowhere near being cleaned out. I dread having to go through this again."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "This was my second colonoscopy. My first one I had no problems at all . This time I took CLENOIQ, and it has been a terrible experience. Other than the fact that it did cleanse me out, there is nothing else positive about this product. I took the first bottle at 3:30PM. The taste is absolutely putrid and lingers. But that is not the worst part of it. It started working about 2 hours after first dose, I also started having chills. Another couple hours later I was having very watery bowels, then nothing for an hour or so, so I went to bed. I woke up twice in the middle of the night in a puddle of water poop. Had to change and shower. After the second shower, I passed out. Thank goodness my husband was there. I felt terrible, lightheaded, nauseous, heart racing. As directed I took the second dose at 9am. For hours after the colonoscopy bad cramps. Had loose stools for 2 days and still feel "off" over a week later. This stuff was toxic to my body. NEVER AGAIN!!!"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "By FAR the best prep I’ve ever used. I will no longer dread the colonoscopy prep process. Taste isn’t great but MUCH better than the others in my opinion, plus it’s such a small amount that you can suck it down pretty quickly. No stomach cramping at all, and it cleaned me out completely. Doctor gave me free sample, so I can’t comment on cost."

Prepopik (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "F, 26, 150 lbs. Was given Prepopik because I had issues keeping down the normal prep. Was given three packets of miralax and the prepotik kit. I didn't have to start until 6pm the before the colonoscopy, so I was able to work the day before - first perk right off the bat. I took the miralax packets, one each morning, the three days leading to my prep. My stool was already soft by the time prep day came, which helped. Got home from work at 5:30 and started. I was going to the bathroom 30 minutes to an hour after. No intense cramps or discomfort, just the urge to run to the bathroom lol. Woke up at 4:30am to finish second half. The Dr performed the colonoscopy later that day with no issues. Love this product, worked great for me!"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "This is my 3rd colonoscopy due to my diagnosis of Ulcerative Proctitis. I have used a different prep for all 3. I did not enjoy the other preps either, but the temporary discomfort is not hard to rationalize through. The process and method are just means to an end. I chose the split dose method, just to ensure that there would be plenty of time to make sure I was completely clean. Took the first dose at 3:45pm and the second at 9:00pm. Long story short, I had a miserable night NOT pooping, and had to make multiple calls to the GI's office, and multiple trips to the pharmacy, to get additional laxitives. So by 11:00am the next day, after having used the entire prep per manufacturers instructions, a gallon of water, 2 Dulcolax suppositories, and 1 1/2 bottles of Mag Citrate, I was "clean enough" to perform the procedure. Ridiculous. Never again."

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Clenpiq is a cranberry flavored liquid that you drink directly from the bottle. It is very sickeningly sweet and viscous and I kept having to drink water in between as a chaser. Within an hour I started pooping, which was fine. Then after 4 hours I started getting chills, then felt hot, then felt like I was going to pass out! Knowing that I would have to take another 5 oz dose at 11PM didn't help. I stared at the bottle at 11:05 PM and took a few swallows of Clenpiq then immediately started vomiting white foam. My husband kept encouraging me to finish the bottle so that I would be cleaned out. I tried a few more swallows and again started vomiting. There was no way that I would be able to drink that second bottle! In my case, I think that one bottle was sufficient for me because I had been going to the bathroom quite often and Clenpiq was very potent for my system. I'm not sure that I will ever undergo another colonoscopy because the prepping process is a terrible experience!"

Clenpiq (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "Omg, the best bowl prep ever! I have used every prep out there and this is the best. I did not taste any flavor, although it was supposed to be cranberry. I get colonoscopies yearly and have to psych myself up to drink a gallon of disgusting prep. I drank the bottle straight then drank 40oz of water after. Then repeated for the second round. Drinking 8oz's of prep with no flavor is so much better than trying to drink down a gallon of nasty prep, which I usually throw up. Clenpiq stayed down, no gagging or throwing up. The only problem I had was a terrible headache which lasted until after my procedure. Thank you Clenpiq!"

Prepopik (citric acid/magnesium oxide/sodium picosulfate) "I had a colonoscopy today and used Prepopik for bowel preparation. For my last colonoscopy several years ago, I had used Magnesium Citrate and found the Prepopik SO much easier to take, and my doctor said I had a nice, clean colon afterward. The way I took it, I didn't taste it, and it went down very easily. This is what I did: Before drinking the Prepopik, I had a small amount of ginger ale. I prepared the Prepopik with very cold water, and after stirring it as directed, I added a few ice cubes. Using a straw and HOLDING MY NOSE, I sucked that baby right down in several big gulps, and following a recommendation I saw on the internet, I immediately sucked on a lemon! Sounds weird, but it worked!! I seriously didn't taste the stuff!"
