Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cold Symptoms "Was given this medicine for upper respiratory tract infection. It helps the cough but makes you feel really out of it. With this prescription I have had headaches. I'm on the 12 hour/1 tsp dosage. I would recommend that this drug before you go to bed."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cold Symptoms "The medicine is very good at relieving the symptoms of a cold. Greatly reduced cough and dried me up as I have never seen. It may be too dry so drink a lot of fluids. I have to say though, don't drive a car or operate machinery. It makes it very hard to think clearly. Definitely made for use where you stay home and depend on someone else to do the thinking."

For Cough "The ONLY medicine I have ever taken that truly stops a post nasal drip in its tracks and in turn stops your cough. This is a god send and allows you to actually sleep when you are sick. However has made me a little lightheaded (for lack of a better word, kind of just a weird "off" feeling) so I try to only take it at night. I wouldn't drive taking it."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "Seven (7) years ago my system betrayed me and I became allergic to everything you can be tested for except ducks and fungus - everything. I went through my PCP, to every allergy and immunology specialist in a forty mile radius and then moved down to the super-specialists in the Boston medical community. For two years - nothing alleviated the primary symptom - coughing - violent explosive coughing every forty five minutes to an hour. This is where you will begin to disbelieve me probably but, the weekend of Good Friday, 2004 my ENT prescribed Tussionex-P and for the first time I was able to sleep, breath and behave normally. I do cease use every twenty eight days, withdrawal is a little like "coffee-jags" but you must use care with this medicine."

For Cough "Agree with all that was said. It works in 20 minutes and lasts 12 hours. I do get itchy, a little restless but the cough is gone. My insurance does not cover any part of it, and $100 is steep but worth it."

For Cough "This is the best stuff on the market. I had a huge wedding to shoot last weekend and I don't think I could have done it without this. Yes, it might make you feel a little drowsy but the benefits of being able to shoot a wedding without causing a distraction throughout the day was well worth the drowsy feeling. I would recommend this to anyone with a bad cough. "

For Cold Symptoms "This is the only medicine I have found that clears up my stuffy/runny nose, sneezing, itchy watery eyes. I've tried several allergy pills and nasal sprays with no relief! The only problem is, doctors don't want to prescribe this medication because so many patients abuse it. I've also taken this medicine for bronchitis and it worked wonders!"

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cold Symptoms "Unfortunately I have had the 3rd teaspoon and I am still coughing my butt off. I know for a fact that Walgreens at the University and trying are good for not giving you the prescription prescribed by your attending physician. I am definitely returning this medication to Walgreen so help me God."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "Obstetrician prescribed this to me due to a chest infection/head cold that resulted in no sleep for me. It totally knocked me out - I slept better than I had during my entire pregnancy. Great part is I still have plenty of fetal movement."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "This medicine worked very well for me. I had a bad cough that was keeping me up night after night. This allowed me to sleep and totally stopped the cough. I couldn't take it during the day without being groggy however, so I would caution against this although the recommended dose said every 12 hours."

"Hope this will help someone who is concerned about Tussionex. I have taken it for 15 years off/on for allergy-cough or bronchitis. It is AMAZING. I have over the last 4 years developed fibromyaligia. Doctors tried every kind of drug for fibromyalgia. I stopped taking all of them for fear of liver/kidney damage. Now all I take is Tussionex on the days that I feel really bad. I don't take it daily. I guess you could but please ask your doctor about any other medicines you might be taking or about the long term side effects. NEVER go solely by what someone says on here. I just wanted to tell you what it does for me. Fibromyalgia is a weird illness and after years of pain and losing days from sleeping you will do anything to get your life back."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "This stuff is great. I have had a chronic cough for over a year following an esophagectomy. This is the first medication that actually works for more then a couple of hours. I can actually make it through the night without having coughing episode. As a side benefit, it tastes pretty good."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cold Symptoms "I was prescribed this medicine after going to urgent care for what I thought was a basic head cold. I was told I had the flu. I did not think my symptoms were consistent with what I considered the flu, but I had not been sick in a long time and cannot remember when I last had the flu. The medicine definitely dried me up per se, but I started getting real jittery and anxious, and when trying to go to sleep could not due to the itching. I know I am sensitive to medications and have never had this medicine before. If you are like me and sensitive to medicines, be prepared for side effects."

Tussionex Pennkinetic (chlorpheniramine / hydrocodone) for Cough "I have had a bad cough for over a week. The Doctor said it was bronchitis and prescribed this and Septra. It does dry you up and quietens the cough. I've taken this before but, don't remember it making me feel so loopy, even 12 hours later. Definitely don't drive and it would be advisable to have someone around."

For Cough "Had I known there was a drug that provided this much relief I would've gone to the doctor days ago. It's amazing how immediately effective it was. Never had luck with cough syrups until this one. Two thumbs up for sure."

For Cough "This stuff is amazing. No other cough syrup, prescription or OTC helps me. One year I couldn’t get rid of a cough for about 2 months and tried everything. My Dr decided to give this a go and the first night taking it almost immediately took my cough away. This is all I ever ask for now if I get a bad cough!"

For Cough "This is pure magic. I had a cough for a week that was so constant and paroxysmal that I pulled muscles in my chest and abdomen, and was seriously afraid of having a stroke. OTC did nothing, benzonatate and promethazine DM did nothing. Less than 2 hours after the first dose of this medication, I began to see improvement. After the third dose, the cough was gone for 10 hours. The downside is that when it stops working, it's sudden and harsh. It doesn't last as long as you are supposed to wait between doses, and I wake up with a headache. But I'll gladly pay that price for relief of coughing."

For Cough "This medicine really helped my cough, but it made me itchy and I got hives on my elbows and knees. It also made me very tired the next day, but tiredness alone wouldn't stop me from taking it again. It did wonders for my cough."

For Cough "I am allergic to most cough medications so my doctor prescribed me the liquid version of this after having no luck with the Tessalon Perles. I took the dosage prescribed at approximately 8:00pm and it made me extremely drowsy within half an hour. I slept really well and didn't cough all night, but it made it almost impossible to get out of bed this morning. It's 11am and I still feel very out of it. Overall this medication does what it's supposed to but I am going to have to take it much earlier in the evening to see if it makes a difference the next morning. I would not be able to take this medication during the day."
