For Bladder Infection "That’s the third antibiotic I am taking for my bladder infection. My UTI symptoms reappeared on the third day with Cipro and 48 hours after taking a full course of Cefalexin. Urine culture came back negative after the first two antibiotics but UTI symptoms persisted. Nurse wrongly diagnosed me with Interstitial cystitis. Teledoctor fortunately prescribed me cefpodoxime. I am over the moon. No more symptoms and no side effects from cefpodoxime at all. I started to feel better after the first dose. Feeling great!"

For Bladder Infection "Just so no one goes through the same thing, affected my right side, maybe my liver. Caused headaches, stomach pain, etc. Was prescribed to take one in the morning and one in the afternoon, and I can't even explain the pain and fear I'm going through. Please be careful when taking these. I was on my fourth day with it."

Cefpodoxime for Pneumonia "On my fourth pill of Vantin in a few more hours, and I couldn't believe the rapidity of the healing! I am taking it for Klebsiella pneumoniae, along with Macrobid for Enterobacter bacteria! I have had dry mouth, dry throat, increased thirst, slight ringing in ears that has passed, headache, ugh, was the worst so far, but not horrible. Heavier menstrual period, a little dizziness, and hey! I'm penicillin allergic. So I think I'm doing A-1."

Cefpodoxime for Bronchitis "On the third pill, I experienced very severe diarrhea, which caused me to discontinue the medication. I am still experiencing the diarrhea even though I have been off the medicine for a few days. Also experiencing malaise and fatigue."

For Kidney Infections "Ok, this medicine, cefpodoxime, is no joke. After about an hour of taking the medication, my heart started beating fast. And I'm pregnant, my belly started pounding. Ok, so I decided to take half of a pill, and then I got really sick with side effects of nausea, sweating, chills, reflux, and insomnia. Will not take again, not to mention this is prescribed for animals in other countries. I think this works, but the side effects are awful."

For Sinusitis "I don’t do well with antibiotics, I absolutely dread having to take them. Was told I have a sinus infection and was given this antibiotic. Took the day off work due to knowing the side effects will get me. Thankfully not much side effects, except for slight diarrhea and tummy gurgling. Made sure to take medicine right after a full meal and had no issues at all. Sinus infection seems to be gone as well. Yaaay!"

"Took 100 mg tablet by mouth two times a day for eight days. It helped to clear up the UTI with none of the usual side effects. However, on day eight, I noticed black, tarry stool. That was very disturbing and will follow up doctor."

For Pneumonia "Extreme diarrhea, bloating, then gastritis. Second time: extreme dizziness, headaches, neck pain, vaginal herpes, mouth sores. This antibiotic should be taken off the market. I also have purple bruising on my body."

For Bladder Infection "I have been on cefpodoxime for 3 days, and my urine output is still very minimal, not normal. I have been drinking water, and I am constipated as well. This medication works slow, I will wait another day before going to the doctor again."

For Pneumonia "I have a ton of anxiety around antibiotics. I tend to freak myself out with the scary side effects. However, my pneumonia caused my fever to spike to 104 and other terrible symptoms. After my first pill (taken with a Z-pack as well), I coughed up so much mucus, and my fever went down. The next day, I quite literally had no more fever or mucus. It was like I never had pneumonia at all. I had a mild side effect of diarrhea, but I tend to have that with every antibiotic."

For Bladder Infection "I have used cefpodoxime twice, but it takes more than 3 days to get symptomatic relief. I was taking 200 mg every 12 hours. It generally does not have any side effects on me."
