For Sinusitis "My 7th day (out of 10) on cefdinir and it did not work for me. It only gave me diarrhea and made me very tired all 7 days I was on it. I slept most of the time for the past 7 days. I was given it to treat sinusitis which symptoms are the same and now I feel I have bronchitis. My lungs and chest is filled with mucus. Still coughing non stop like crazy, runny nose, post nasal drip, head aches, fatigue, chest pain, congested. Cefdinir sucks! What a waste of my time & days. Dr is going to prescribe another antibiotic. This time a 5 day course. Insurance covered the medication which I paid $5.00 co pay."

For Sinusitis "I suffer from multiple sinus infections every year. Three days ago I was prescribed cefdinir for the first time. It has caused unbearable nausea and diarrhea. After hearing that it has done the same for so many others, it angers me that a doctor would even consider prescribing this drug when there are other options that work better and do not have unacceptable side effects. Cefdinir is a failure in the field of medicine."

For Sinusitis "I've been taking Cefdinir for 5 days so far with no adverse reactions as mentioned in some of the comments. No diarrhea, stomach cramps, etc. However, my sinus headache and cough are worse today...no better. I called my Dr. thinking he might want to give me a different type of antibiotic but he said to stay on the Cifdinir. It's not helping. I am miserable. :*("

For Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "Prescribed this drug because of history of MONO with tonsillitis. I was very reluctant to take it, but went ahead anyway. Besides the pill smelling like death, 4 days into it I was better, and expedited extremely bad cramps / diarrhea and bloating. I mistakenly took another dosage and was filled with hives all over. Still dealing with the second day of hives, the ER gave me 5 days of steroids. I’ve been on tons of antibiotic for recurring strep/tonsillitis and have NEVER experienced something like this."

For Middle Ear Infections "I can take anything. Never been allergic to any antibiotic or anything. This is my first time taking this product. Now I take Cymbalta for Anxiety and trazadone at night. I am not sure what is in this antibiotic but I feel like I am on another planet. Trust me I am a normal guy that has slight anxiety but I swear I feel so weird on this antibiotic. Something is a miss. It is either interacting with my anxiety med or something. I have never reviewed a drug and I had to go thru many with anxiety. This one is doing something weird. I might need to stop taking it. If you have any anxiety or depression. I would probably avoid this one."

Omnicef Omni-Pac (cefdinir) for Sinusitis "I was just fine on Cefdinir for first six days (actually, remarked how this was one antibiotic that didn't wipe me out). I did take probiotics with it, along with the prednisone tables (bronchitis and sinus infection). Then on the seventh day, when I took the last two, the cramping started. OMG. I am so sick! It has been two days since I finished the dosage, and I have constant stomach ache and have trouble breathing. Gax X doesn't help the cramps much. I wish I read these reviews before I took this stuff. So, this is going to last and last and then, if it goes away, it comes back another day? That looks to be what I'm reading."

Omnicef (cefdinir) for Middle Ear Infections "This is the only antibiotic I will request for both of my children when they have ear infections. It is a one dose a day medicine that begins working very quickly and clears the infection. Diarrhea is a side effect, but can be controlled with diet and limiting dairy."

For Pneumonia "I was diagnosed with a rare hereditary disease PI, (Primary Immunodeficiency Disease). Mine type is called Hypogammagobilema. The Immunologist I see prefers this antibiotic as a back up because of it's effectiveness and very low probability for side effects. I have been taking it since November of 2018. I also have to take a IGG drug that gives my body the ability to actually fight the many different bacteria's that cause all types of Pneumonia, most that are very deadly. This antibiotic works well."

For Sinusitis "First sinus infection at 59 yrs old. My doc is on vacation so "nurse practitioner" prescribes cefdinir, took for 5 days, stopped because side effects, cramping, diarrhea. Was given a script of amoxicillin which knocked out the sinus problem. The cefdinir effects went away a few days after I quit them, but as the warning says came back 8 weeks later with a vengeance. Has been 3 months now, my PCP referred me to Gastro but when I told them I had went to ER and had blood work and test for C-Diff 4 days before she called, I was told they could do a colonoscopy but if I had an inflamed colon there was nothing they could do but make it worse, if not inflamed they could prescribe a couple meds. Neg for c-diff, taken 3 bottles of probiotics, lost?"

For Bronchitis "This has got to be the worst medication I've been on. I went to the doctor for reoccurring fever, sore throat, and violent coughing to the point of almost throwing up. The doctor prescribed me this medication. After 24 hours after taking the medication, I developed diarrhea. I, at first, didn't think it was part of the drug, until severe fatigue/lethargic took hold. On the third day, I suspected that it had to be the drug. I called the doctor's office and told them. They told me to stop taking the drug immediately. I was given a different antibiotic, but to wait two or three days before taking the next antibiotic."

For Middle Ear Infections "Kinda conflicted about this medication. I was prescribed cefdinir for an ear infection. I also had a cough, was congested, and my voice was completely gone. The morning after taking the meds for a day I was so much better better. My voice was back, I still had congestion and a cough, but it was much better. The only downside was that I began having trouble sleeping (insomnia), which I never had in the past. It got to the point where I got about 2 hours of sleep a night and completely restless. I had to take a second round of antibiotics since after finishing the 10 days my sickness came back. I am now currently on the meds again and I haven’t slept in 24 hours. Avoid cefdinir if you can because I'm so exhausted. Just get a different antibiotic! It also made my anxiety spoke terribly so if you have been diagnosed with anxiety Idon’t recommend this for you either."

For Sinusitis "This medication was prescribed for my 8 year old son and myself both having sinusitis. To make a long story short, this particular antibiotic worked/works well for my son w/o any side affects. I wish I could say the same for myself, on about the 3th to 4th day I started having diarrhea, slowly to very moderately, meaning I hit the bathroom 3 to 4 times every hour, sometimes more. I should also add that I didn't notice any difference in my sinusitis, so the medicine just gave me really bad diarrhea, so not worth it to me. This antibiotic is a great medication for kids from my stand point not so much for adults, unless you don't mind living in the bathroom."

For Middle Ear Infections "My daughter who is 1yr old was prescribed this medication for an ear infection. This is her very first one so I thought they would prescribe amoxicillin. She developed a very bad rash on her stomach, chest and back. I immediately called her doctor and they switched her meds. She's now on azithromycin, hopefully this one works. They also put her on a steroid to help with the rash. "

For Sinusitis "Had Sinusitis for 2 months. I was hesitant to take Cefdinir after reading all the bad reviews on here, but I finally gave in and it cleared it up in a matter of days with no side effects. Seems the most common side effects reported here are headache and diarrhea. I think many people aren't aware that Cefdinir should be taken with food, and that whenever you take any sort of antibiotic, you should follow up with a probiotic a couple of hours after each pill to re-balance your gut bacteria. These two steps are probably what kept from experiencing those side effects."

For Sinusitis "Within 6 hours of first dose intense itching of nostrils, face, scalp, chest, bottoms of feet, palms; pins and needles on back, inner thighs. Stopped taking it as an allergic reaction Was to start Prednisone tomorrow but at 2:45am got up to take first steroid dose hoping to thwart these horrendous side effects. I pray the intestinal effects don’t hit me like they have others. I’ll NEVER use this drug again."

For Sinusitis "I took Z Pack for full pack and still had upper respitory infection so my Dr prescribed this. I took it for 2 days and then started severe diarrhea and after taking it for 5 days I had to call 911 to get to the hospital. I was so dehydrated with diarrhea and nausea so bad I had to be hospitalized for six days! I see I'm not the only one that had these side effects."

For Sinusitis "It was prescribed for a POSSIBLE sinus infection. Knowing what I know now, I don't know why such a strong med was prescribed. I have taken things like Amoxicillin in the past with no bad side effects. In addition to seeing no change in my symptoms, by the night of day 6 of 10 that I was supposed to take the drug, I was miserable. Shaking chills, dizziness, watery diarrhea, nausea with some vomiting. I actually wished that I could have vomited more because I felt so terribly nauseated. Now, on the morning after, still feeling nausea and dealing with diarrhea. Also headache. I hope and pray that the drug totally and it's effects totally leave my body soon. I will NEVER take cefdinir again. By the way, I did take the drug as prescribed and took probiotics ."

For Middle Ear Infections "By far the worst drug ever made. This drug is a synthetic which is why no wonder it does not work. I've been sick for 9 days but been on this for 7 days taking it twice a day religiously. Went into the urgent care bc my ear was hurting for the 1st time in my life, my throat was swollen & hurts so much to even barely even swallow my own spit, miragraine, dizzy, coughing, running nose, & my body so weak I had trouble walking. After 7 days being on it's not working. Caused my other ear after 2 days to hurt. Both ears are so muffed I can't hear a thing. Now have to take the z-pack I normally take when I'm sick that she called in. FYI when u tell a doctor what works for u do not settle for what they think u should take. Know ur body!!"

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "HORRIBLE. Was prescribed 300mg x1 daily. Day one was sharp pains in lower intestines. Day 2 was worse, with acid reflux that was the worst I ever had. I tried Apple Cider Vinegar, Pepto, Oatmeal, Omeprazole. Almost went to ER. Finally started to subside after 6 hours. I stopped it and still had pains in lower intestines for next few days. And a Panic attack 2nd day off. WORST STUFF EVER!!! IT must be bad. Even one of the manufacturer's discontinued it. SO many bad reviews too. For what I was being treated for I was actually suppose to be on 300mg x. 2 I am so glad that PA was a dope and got it wrong. A NEW PA diagnosed me differently and put me on Cipro. FDA Should make Companies refund us/system for crap like this."

For Sinusitis "Diarrhea after day 2, i stopped after 7th day when i started vomiting, by then, sinus infection was twice as bad. & this med added, bronchial infection, sneezing, itchy eyes & nose. For Middle Ear Infections "My 6 year old Daughter was given this medication for supposed wheezing in her lungs . 3rd dose she broke out all over her face & body! Itched horribly. Ended up taking her to an ER & doctor said to immediately stop this medication & had to give her a cortisone shot to reduce the rash :( I strongly advise to reconsider if given this medication and you have other options."

For Sinusitis "Within 4 hours of taking the first dose of this medication my coxcyx began to itch, which was odd. About six hours after taking the first dose I had terrible, intense, painful itching that was uncontrollable throughout my groin area including vaginal and anal itching. The more I scratched the more I itched. I tried Ice, and benedryl which helped a bit so I didn't go to the hospital. In the morning the doctor changed the antibiotic and I was also given something to successfully treat for the worst yeast infection I have ever had. Several years later I had the same experience (I forgot ) and now list cefdinir as a drug allergy. I am not allergic to any of Cefdinir's relatives, or penicillin."

For Sinusitis "My 5 year old daughter was given this medication for sinusitis. 30 minutes after her first dose, she started trembling. We didn't know what was going on. Then suddenly she started vomiting. We decided it was a reaction to Cefdinir. Very scary. Threw the rest of it away."

For Sinusitis "Taking this antibiotic was fine for around 6 days, and then I was struck with intense nausea. Eventually it ended in me throwing up and unable to eat for a day. My muscles hurt and I had bad diarrhea. Also, my sinusitis was not helped AT ALL."
