Cafergot (caffeine / ergotamine) "Mid last year, I started experiencing this headache that affected even my eyes and kept me restless. I was introduced to Cafergot, and under 1 hour, it worked like magic, and I have not experienced any side effects so far. Cafergot, to me, is the solution. From Nigeria."

Cafergot (caffeine / ergotamine) "This drug worked as well for me as did my Imitrex, but when my neurologist changed my preventative meds, he switched me from Cafergot back to Imitrex (?). But I was pleased with the results of this med."

Cafergot (caffeine / ergotamine) "I was diagnosed with cluster headaches in my late 20s. I was prescribed Cafergot, and it worked great. Although now the FDA has taken the medicine off the market due to some people having bad side effects. I tried many different steroids my neurologist experimented with, hoping for some relief and less frequency of the attacks, which didn't work at all. Now I'm prescribed sumatriptan tablets, and they seem to be working great for me."

Cafergot (caffeine / ergotamine) "I usually take Exedrine migraine for my migraines this time it failed. My migraine lasted approx a day and a half looking desperately throughout my medicine cabinet I came across Cafergot which clearly I took at some point it relieved me a whole lot within I'd say about an hour very grateful for the medicine. Still have a slight throbbing pain at the back of my right eye but it has significantly reduced the pain."

"I get cluster headaches every two years for about six weeks at a time. I usually get one a day. The quickest way to abort it is pure oxygen in high concentration. But that treatment does not last a long time. I take one half a tablet of Cafergot each day as soon as I feel the symptoms coming . That usually aborts the headache. I probably have about 3 breakthrough headaches during my six week period. They usually occur at night when I run for the Oxygen. Taking Cafergot is annoying at night because I have trouble going back to sleep. After the clusters are finished I go off the Cafergot on a weekend because of the withdrawal headache. It is best to wean off of the medicine. I have been getting clusters for over 50 years but with Cafergot have managed to control the pain well."

Cafergot (caffeine / ergotamine) "Takes about 40 minutes to kill a cluster headache for me, and I usually combine it with an energy drink for about ~30 minutes before it works. I also take half a pill whenever a shadow comes just in case. No side effects. "

Migergot (caffeine / ergotamine) "I have a head injury due to a car accident and the only thing that works for the very painful headaches was Cafergot suppositories. When they were taken off the market my Dr switched to Migergot which has worked very well for me as I have flare ups. "

"My experience with Cluster Headaches (CH) has been very excruciating to say the least. They say alcohol triggers CH. Alcohol prevents the headaches. When I stop drinking the headaches return. Sometimes the headaches can disappear for a year or more. My father used to get them. So, I believe he passed them down to me. I am 59 years old and I feel like I've been cursed. Sumatripan works wonders. I just pray they would stop plaguing me. So I can stop worrying and live a normal life."

"Having an espresso, usually either reduces or just makes the pain go away (mostly)."

Cafergot (caffeine / ergotamine) "I've been taking Cafergot / ergotamine for over 25 years, and it's the only med that actually relieves small cluster headaches to full-blown migraines. I don't even want to try another because this works so fast with no side effects. I see where the pharmaceutical companies are trying to take it off the market. Please don't. I honestly don't know what I'd do if it were no longer available."
