"The first couple of weeks were great, and then the mania came. I've been hospitalized for seizures as a side effect of this drug, so be careful. It has definitely helped with smoking cessation and helped regulate my appetite."

"I loved Bupropion, it is the first antidepressant that worked for me after trying a long list of other meds (prozac, lexapro, abilify...) Bupropion is the only one that actually made me feel good, especially without any sexual side effects (important for a 23 yr old in college :P ) but 5 months in, this medication started giving me seizures.....sooo.....thats not cool. Definitely worth a try though. Was perfect up until the seizures :P"

"In my experience, I’ve seen an improvement, I started with 150mg and my depression episode stop being so frequent, my mania episodes last a lot less. I’m now increasing to 300mg , because even though they are not as frequent, they are still very intense . But I’ve tried fluoxetine it that one made everything worse"

"This is the only med that works for my depressive states without causing terrible side effects. SSRIs make me very tired and sexually anhedonic. Bupropion feels like a couple of cups of coffee and does not interfere with sexual enjoyment (if anything, it enhances it a little bit but that may just be its antidepressant effect). I am currently on 150 mg of the XL once a day but just started taking it again after several years on SSRIs (I started on those due to some perceived anxiety that turned out to be temporary). I used to take two doses of the SR but do not remember how many mg. I also take 300 mg of lamotrigine to avoid manic and mixed phases and the combo seems to work for me."
