For Depression "I have been on 200mg of buproprion xl for about 2 years and I can say that it has had a great effect on my life. First off, I quit smoking. The urge to smoke was like, GONE! My mood was great for about 1 1/2 yrs and I feel that this is a great medicine for most. I did gain weight on it and my appetite has actually INCREASED, so I guess I am one of the unlucky ones. I have noticed some withdrawal symptoms if I miss a dose, which is something else to consider. It has stopped being effective for me and I am concerned about raising my dosage due to the withdrawal symptoms I have experienced. I am constantly tired and lethargic and recently had a major depressive episode. "

"Only on day 4 and I don’t like the feeling. I am light headed, dizzy and very nauseous. I get a bit agitated because of the symptoms, so I hope it’s very temporary. I am hopeful and will give it the 2 weeks the Dr suggested. I am in 150 mg a day. For years I have had anxiety that just keeps getting worse, and minor depression issues, and some anger issues. I Hope this is the right drug and dose because so far I don’t feel great and I hope to feel better soon."

For Depression "Currently on 10mg of Lexparo 1 x a day to help mellow out my anxiety and panic attacks associated with postpartum depression. Was extremely effective, but the effect started wearing off after 2 months. The drowsiness I experienced from the medication was also getting unbearable. Doctor prescribed 150 mg Wellbutrin XL 1 x a day to be used in combination with the 10mg Lexapro. The idea was that it would increase my feelings of well-being while counteracting the drowsiness. Stopped Wellbutrin after 2 days. I experienced anxiety, sleeplessness, bad headaches behind my eyes, nausea and sour stomach. Probably should have given it more time to kick in. Will stick to Lexapro and just drink more coffee."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Generic was not working for me at all. 100% difference with Brand name. If fact went through several generic nothing was working till I started taking the brand name. Now I do not have insurance and can not afford it. I had a discount card. I would have paid $5 but you had to have insurance."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I was on bupropion for 4 months. It was somewhat effective for my MDD, and helped some aspects of my ADHD a little bit (primarily ones associated with depression, like overeating and motivation). Side-effects when starting were quite intense, and I noticed slight increases in suicidal ideation. I got off of it because of concerns of other medications interacting, and cross-tapered to Zoloft (which I found totally ineffective and potentially made things worse). Side effects were the most problematic aspect of Budeprion."

For Depression "Started out okay on 150mg. Moved up to 300mg. Okay at first, then after a few months, side effects kicked in. My memory was getting much worse, balance was off. Hard time walking straight. I was in bad shape. It's hard to get in to see the doctor, so I quit taking them completely. Within two weeks I was back to my old self. Never again!"
