For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I started taking black cohosh for hot flashes and night sweats as recommended by my doctor. I’m about 1 month in and the side effects are headaches, cramps, palpitations, increase blood pressure and dizziness. I have stopped taking it and will suffer with the hot flashes.... I do not recommend it at all."

For Herbal Supplementation "I started black cohosh 1 week ago for perimenopause and just realized, after thinking I was experiencing a kidney infection, or maybe even about to pass a stone, that it is from this supplement! I've never had any issues with either my entire life, but something has been very wrong. Very nauseous, daily throbbing headaches, and extremely bloated! I am so thankful something told me to look this up! In the trash they shall go!!!!"

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I had a hysterectomy at 48 and for the first couple of years after the surgery I suffered mild menopausal symptoms. For a year now the hot flashes have been so intense and emotionally, I occasionally experience overwhelming sadness. Because of my health concerns regarding HRT therapy, I decided to try an herbal supplement containing Black Cohosh. I took two capsules before bedtime as directed. The next day I was fine. I again took two at bedtime, however, the second day was much different. I was extremely bloated and experienced mild diarrhea and “crazy” flatulence! I honestly don’t believe I have ever experienced so much gas in my life! I’m so happy that I didn’t have to go anywhere. Black Cohosh is no longer an option for me. Sadly, I’ll just have to soldier through this challenging period called menopause."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "Took one pill for the first time to treat hot flashes and night sweats. While I haven't had any hot flashes today, I have had a headache ALL day and one bout of dizziness. I overall feel tired and like I have lead in my shoes. I don't think it's worth the trade off."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I have been taking black cohosh daily for about two weeks. It creates mild abdominal gas, my mood is much better but my hot flashes are much worse. I only experienced night sweats before the supplement and now have hot flashes every hour, all day and night sweats every hour at least. The mood enhancement might be worth the hot flashes. Not sure yet."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I took 150mg a day for about a week when I woke up one morning with debilitating dizziness. I could barely move all day. The next day was a tiny bit better but this continued for several days. I thought I had vertigo! I was a little nauseous, so dizzy, headaches, felt heavy, was retaining water, my stomach was bad and I was so bloated (the way I used to feel before my period). I finally realized that it must be the black cohosh and sure enough read about all the possible side effects that I didn’t know about. I stopped taking it about 5 days ago and I’m very slowly starting to feel better. If you are someone who is sensitive to medication, DO NOT TAKE THIS!! It literally made me sick."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I have been on this product (Estroven) for 2 weeks. I know, it says that hot flashes will stop after a month, so stick to it, BUT I then began to have knife sharp cramping and bloating like a period. I started having extremely dark and cloudy urine and on top of that anxious thoughts and moodiness, like I was on my period!!! I couldn’t understand it, I actually just thought I was getting sick, until I read the side effects of Black Cohosh ( NIH health black-cohosh). I thought with it being all natural, I would have a good experience. No, I didn’t. And It can cause liver damage! No thank you!"

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "My naturopath gave it to me for the hot flashes. The first dose I was up all night with anxiety and my heart beating really hard, insomnia and I felt like garbage- joints hurt, TMJ, worst headache ever, constantly using the bathroom . Advil didn’t help at all. When it was time to get up I could barely make myself breakfast and about a half hour later the headache was overwhelming and I had to call out sick from work. I slept for 2 hours while constantly getting hot flashes (I generally don’t get them during the day) and my jaw clenched tight and the headache still hasn't gone away. Totally not taking this again. My headache was so bad I got a covid test to make sure that wasn’t it."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I had bought estroven weight management. It did help with moods and hot flashes. But I was noticing my weight going up, I had gained 7lbs in one week. My diet had not changed. I started looking into the side effects of black cohosh and weight gain/ water retention were possible side effects. For me it's not worth taking. Excess weight for me causes pain in my hips and back . I've stopped taking this product ."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I started taking this, but 40mg 3 months ago. I had no side effects. It did help with the hot flashes. I ran out and OMG, the flashes were back after not taking it for 2 days. I decided to up the mg I was taking since it didn't get rid of them completely. Hopefully now that I have them back in a higher dosage it will help a little more. However, I would recommend trying it. It won't work for everyone but it did me."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "After many years of living the menopausal nightmare! Have only started Taido Menoa for two days now. I live in France and it is impossible to have Estrogen therapy (bad for you !) which I would much prefer, from what I have read from the other comments, the adverse effects seem to be almost immediate. No raging flatulence or the screaming poops (as yet) so hoping to be one of the few who benefits. Has anyone else taken this?"

For Herbal Supplementation "I started taking this in hopes that it would help my horrible PMS. It didn’t, but it did get me pregnant! I had tried everything else and gave up on that dream, but still wanted to sort out my hormones. It did make me nauseous and my Reflexologist could feel a change in my liver after it, but the end result was worth it. Everyone’s chemistry is different, so you have to be a scientist and experiment."

For Herbal Supplementation "I began taking a compound supplement with Black Cohosh because of a recent PCOS diagnosis and hot flashes. I immediately noticed the lack of hot flashes and night sweats but the side effects were too intense to continue use. After 1 month, my weight increased significantly, I felt heavy and tired, I was constantly bloated and my usual constipation worsened. I would not recommend taking Black Cohosh unless it is prescribed to you. For reference, I am 31 and have never had issues with weight gain in the past."

"Within 24h started heavily spotting, within 48h, still spotting heavily (as much as a heavy menstrual cycle) with migraine and nausea. Within 4 days rash across my face and neck, and still spotting, so I stopped taking it. Headaches/migraines/nausea stopped, so did spotting, and I felt enormously improved. I did experience slightly elevated mood while taking it, but the side effects were too extreme. I’ve not spotted mid cycle before, so I’m confident in the causation. I am not menopausal but show some pre-/peri menopause symptoms (irregularity is not one of them) such as lower estrogen."

"I figured I would try these as they say they are helpful in balancing hormones. I am not in menopause but am 48. It took me less than a month and a half to realize these pills were causing me weight gain. My whole body just puffed up and I looked super bloated, everywhere. This is not something I'm used to. I stopped taking them about 2-3 weeks ago and I have lost that unexpected bloat and extra weight gain. I'm not taking these anymore. I need it to work with me, not against me."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I got a high dose black cohosh pill after reading up on its possible benefits. I was having several hot flashes an hour that went on all day and night. After one day my hot flashes were gone! What I did gain was terrible sulfer gas and diarrhea. I didn't make to the toilet in time!! Oh boy. Disappointed Trading one bad symptom for another. Guess I'm going to burn up again. Why isn't there help for us?"

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "Black Cohosh did not work. I took one pill for four nights. My belly swelled bigger everyday. I was VIOLENTLY ILL. Vomiting, headache 1000 times worse than a migraine for 10 hours and diarrhea. Its been four days and I am still nauseous. Anti acids, dry toast and chicken soup is all I can stomach. I cannot wait for it to wear off. Never again will I try Voodoo Witch Doctor remedies."
