For Acne "I just started this medication about 3 days ago. I have horrible, deep, pustule acne, with nodule and cystic acne as well. Since I've started this medication, the inflammation is practically GONE...no new pimples have come up, and my face actually feels smoother, IN JUST 3 DAYS. I'm in shock. I just found out that I'm pregnant, as they were in the process of getting me started to try Accutane...I'm glad I was pregnant because I'd rather use this stuff if it works first, rather than a harsh med. So hopefully this continues to help, and I will be sporting beautiful skin in a month or so. I've never had skin so smooth as it is already now, so I'm super excited. I've been suffering with acne for over 10 years, so this is really a relief."

Azelaic acid topical for Acne "I have suffered from adult acne for years. I have found that the most effective treatments I have used have often been for products for rosacea, like Prosacea, which is over the counter. It worked well for about a year and then slowly became ineffective. So my dermatologist prescribed this. It worked wonders after just 2 days. I rate it a 10! :)"

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "I really like how this product performs! I received a sample from my doctor, my blemishes are clearing up and the redness is gone! However, it is not covered by my insurance. A month's supply would be $304.00! Even with a discount card, the cost was over $200.00. I cannot justify spending that much money on blemishes each month. :/ The patent is due to expire in Nov 2018... I hope a generic version is offered right away."

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "I've been using Finacea on and off for many years! When I was originally diagnosed with rosacea, the treatment was continuous tetracycline. A couple of years later, it was my ophthalmologist who prescribed Finacea, and the results were almost immediate. My usual course of treatment is a morning facial wash with a gentle cleanser and then a few dabs of Finacea smoothed into the affected areas. And then there are periods when I don't use it at all until I begin to see the initial telltale signs. Recently, and years later, I had a flare-up of rosacea-related acne on my cheeks, a new occurrence. My dermatologist placed me on doxycycline and twice-a-day Finacea with excellent results in a matter of a few days. It's been like a cure for me."

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "I've been using Finacea for about 2 months daily. Maybe redness reduced, but stubborn bumps still there. Very expensive prescription for something that doesn't work so great. I think Prosacea - a $10 OTC drug - works as well or possibly even a little better. Good luck to all."

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "I have been using this Finacea 15% gel for about a week, and posting here just because I am totally shocked at the price some of you are forced to pay for this product. I live in Italy, and I bought this for 19€ (full price, no discount), and I thought 'that's too much for a tube of gel.' I feel sorry for you, they are extorting you, they are criminals. Can't say anything about the gel yet... too soon for me, but I have an acne problem on my skin."

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "I brought it from my country, the insurance does not cover this cream here. I only pay U$27 compared with almost U$400. Finacea really works for me. I used to wear Metrogel (didn't work), taking a lot of antibiotics in the past. My dermatologist gave me some Finacea samples because it was expensive. I cannot understand why all dermatologic problems are considered 'cosmetology' and insurance does not cover them."

For Acne "I was prescribed Finacea gel 15% roughly 2 years ago for my acne and perioral dermatitis. It does absolute wonders to reduce the papules and pustules associated with PD. Sometimes I’ll stop using the Finacea, and it only takes my skin a week to start breaking out again with horrible pus-filled demons. Using the Finacea consistently keeps these spots at bay, but after using for a month straight, I tend to get blackheads where I’ve applied the gel. For this, I use Retin-A to increase my skin’s turnover. I apply the Finacea in the morning, with the retinoid at night. This combination leads to wonderful skin. Combine this with any Avène moisturizer, and you’ll be well on your way to perfection."

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "My Finacea gel has been a lifesaver. Before I started it, I was on antibiotics for my rosacea. Those helped, but not nearly as much as Finacea. It has made my face go from extremely red and filled with dots and bumps to smooth and almost regular skin tone. I can finally go outside without makeup and not feel like an alien. The only side effect is that it makes my skin itch and burn a little after applying it. I solve this problem by using a moisturizer 5 minutes later. Oh, and one tube lasts forever!"

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "I’m using Finacea for mild rosacea. The first week, it was mildly burning. By the 7th day, I could tell an enormous difference. My skin went from feeling rough to being very smooth. I have had friends make comments about my skin looking nice. I can tell a HUGE difference. I am very happy with the results. I’m hoping my skin will improve even more with longer use. Most of the postpustules are gone, and the red spots are a lighter pink now. My skin is smooth."

Azelaic acid topical for Acne "I retried Azelex because my first time, which I used for two weeks, I got no results. The second time, I've tried this product for over three weeks and have noticed an extreme difference, with many people complimenting me on my skin. It burns and tingles for 5-10 mins, but then subsides. I have sensitive skin, and this did not dry my skin out at all, which is great. I would definitely recommend."

For Acne "I have been on Finacea foam 20% for 11 weeks for hormonal cystic acne from coming off the pill, and it has done NOTHING-except possibly make it worse. My dermatologist said my skin was purging and to give it 12 weeks... but I think I would have seen SOME sort of improvement by now. I am so discouraged as I went from having no acne at all to lots of painful cystic acne on my chin, jawline, and lower cheeks, all because of getting off birth control. I didn’t even have much acne at all BEFORE going on the pill 7 years ago, so I’m not sure what to do now!!"

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "So the initial price got me looking the other way, and silly me, I ended up spending more thinking I knew more than my doctor. Listen up, rosacea sufferers - TRY THIS! I have spent nearly 3 years trying to find other solutions, and nada. One tiny application, one time, I already see results. One tube should last for a very long time (I mean years). So it is worth the money to save yourself from being embarrassed."

For Rosacea "I get terrible flare-ups when I'm stressed. My father recently passed away, so my stress level was extreme! My aunt took one look at my face and said, 'You need antibiotics.' I've been on doxy and azelaic acid combination for 1 week, and I've noticed a huge improvement. I've also been using Benzac wash, which is good for acne-prone skin but is super soothing and doesn't dry the skin... so far, so good! Made a huge difference in my confidence too."

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "I am writing this as an update from my original post a few months ago when I first started using Finacea after buying it online from an Australian pharmacy. Unfortunately, I discovered Finacea was not for me, it actually made my skin so much worse. I’d have to mentally prepare myself every time I put it on because it burned so bad I couldn’t even stand it, and my face was horribly red, dry, flaky, and tight all the time. If anything, it made my rosacea worse. I finally broke down and went to my dermatologist, and he prescribed me antibiotics, Soolantra, and Rhofade (which I know a lot of people hate), but for me, I have had much better results with this regimen. Redness is still there, but the Rhofade doesn’t burn and definitely reduces the redness and feels very soft and soothing on my skin, no more dryness and flakiness. Finacea just didn’t work for me."

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "Finacea works really well for me in controlling rosacea, much, much better than Metrogel. However, I am just trying it out as a foam, and that is a terrible experience. It is very difficult to control the amount that comes out, and then you cannot spread it evenly on your face. It gets everywhere, including the eyes. I would really recommend that you stick to the gel."

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "I have moderate rosacea, but enough where my entire face is pink/red. I started using this two months ago, day and night, and the redness has gone down minimally, but I've started to break out in deep red pimples on my cheeks. I stopped yesterday, and the pimples seem to be clearing up a bit. Definitely wasn't worth it because I now have acne marks all over my face."

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "I took Finacea for nine weeks, and it has made my rosacea worse. I have inflammation and pustules, along with burning and stinging sensations, which have increased considerably. It appears to work well for a lot of people, but like every other rosacea treatment, it’s not for everyone."

For Rosacea "Anyone who comes to HK by chance should get Azelaic cream here as it is just HKD 120, which is about US 15. I tried it for a few nights so far, and the result is unsure yet. I am not sure if it happens to most of us, but I feel quite itchy after applying it and always want to put something else to make myself feel better... will see and keep updated."

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "I was suffering with a really bad rosacea flare-up for almost a year. New dermatologist gave me Finacea foam in addition to Metrogel to use twice a day. After 4 months, there was only such a small improvement, and I was continuing to get pustules on my cheeks daily. I ultimately got off of the Finacea and am now in Metrogel and another topical cream, which works so much better for me."

Azelaic acid topical for Acne "I experience hormonal acne (now 45 yo). Only 1-2 will appear, but they are large, cystic-like. After pregnancies, acne appeared on the thin skin under the eye area/upper cheek. Stress acne can appear on the back of my neck or on my back. Not many, but a few large ones. And I do scar. I used Retin-A occasionally in the past, but Azelex works the best for this type of acne for me. I apply it every other day to combat any potential mild burn, but daily during PMS. I don’t use Azelex on my entire face, just in prone areas or on spots where I could feel a bump forming. I can usually stop it from growing! One tube will last me for an entire year. My skincare routine includes daily moisturizers and cycles of AHA, Vit C, and niacinamide throughout the week. If I had to only keep one thing, it would be Azelex. It keeps my cystic acne calm, so I won’t get that ice pick look. My insurance recently changed, and this now costs over $400+...hoping it will be available as generic very soon."

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "I struggled with rosacea since age 13. Back then, there were few options for those of us, and my physician prescribed tetracycline. But it never adequately kept my eruptions under control. I suffered for years with large red pustules, and it affected my life. I went on Accutane per my dermatologist, who was supposed to be top in his field. It went away completely, but six months later, it reappeared. My dermatologist said, “I think you have rosacea.” What an idiot. So he prescribed Metrogel. It barely worked. Meanwhile, ten years later, my GP prescribed Finacea gel 15 percent. It was getting under control."

For Acne "Best cream I have used for acne by far. Less irritation than most and fastest results. I’m 4 months in and still seeing improvement. My skin does get irritated sometimes, and when I started, it did burn, tingle, and itch, but when this happens, I either switch to once a day for a while, as advised by my Dr., or put aloe vera on my face ten minutes prior to Skinoren application and then wait until it’s dried and use aloe or a moisturizer. Overall, after 4 months, I’m still happy with the improvements - my skin has gone from quite a few pimples, blemishes, and marks to much fewer blemishes that heal much more quickly. I will give another update at 6 months :)"

Azelaic acid topical for Rosacea "I discovered Finacea in Australia on vacation. There, the gel is available over the counter for $30. Coming back to the US and seeing the $300 price tag, I started researching Canadian online drugs. Cost $36."
