"For 40 years, I have suffered migraines 15 or more days a month. There isn’t a medication I haven’t tried, including Botox, which caused lasting extreme panic and anxiety. I started Qulipta (60 mg) on 11/15/24, the side effects were pretty severe, so we lowered the dose to 30 mg and I take it at night. It took a few weeks for my body to adjust, but with the exception of two migraines (I caught early and controlled them with Maxult), I have been migraine-free for 7 weeks. I had completely forgotten what it felt like to be migraine and headache-free."

"I was on 60 mg for about 6 weeks, and honestly, it felt like I was taking nothing each day. I had raging migraines daily and went through two prescriptions of triptans for two months to try and survive. I have much more success on the injection preventatives in this class than this drug, unfortunately."

"I have been taking Qulipta 30 mg for 30 days with zero relief. It has also given me severe constipation. My neuro increased the dose to 40 mg, and I completely stopped using the bathroom for 5 days. I suspended the medication and had a bowel movement in 24 hrs. My neuro wants me to go back down to the 30 mg dose, but after taking it for 30 days with zero relief, I am not sure this is working for me. I tried Nurtec, and it seemed to work better with zero side effects."

"Works great! Almost 100% effective in preventing chronic daily migraines. However, I can't sleep! Taking it in the morning doesn't help. This isn't listed as a side effect, but apparently others are experiencing this too."

"Qulipta has been a life changer for me. For 25 years, I suffered with 2-3 migraines a week, on average, and a daily headache, ranging in severity. I've taken so many different OTC medications that they stopped working for me, and I had to get a scope due to stomach ulcer concerns. I've been prescribed migraine medications in the past that never worked for me. It wasn't until I recently received my prescription for Qulipta that my life changed. I have been taking it for roughly 5 months now, and I've had 3 migraines. Two of those were the result of me not having the medication for a few days while I was waiting for my prescription to arrive. I've had very few headaches as well. I cannot express how much this preventative has saved my life and has given me a brighter future. I take my pill at night with dinner and have experienced no side effects."

"Daily horrible migraines. I was on Gabapentin for years, which stripped my body of B6. I had all but one of the B6 deficiency symptoms. I finally got to a neurologist and asked to be put on something else. He gave me samples of Qulipta, and within a week, the daily migraines were GONE, with an occasional “breakthrough” one. 60 mg per day works for me, the main side effect can be constipation, which is easy to counter if you take minerals, especially magnesium. Too bad it is outrageously priced, and insurance won’t cover it."

"I have had chronic daily migraines for 20 years and have been taking 60 mg of Qulipta for 3 months. I have had some minimal improvement with both pain and frequency. My side effects include dry mouth, hunger, and chest pain."

"A miracle medication. Suffering from incapacitating migraines since my 30s. Around 4 a week and non-responding to treatment well. I’ve been taking it for 4 months now, and just 3 mild migraines when tired or stressed out. Constipation for the first two months, but now normal. Very happy!!"

"I have New Daily Persistent Headache (NDPH). I’ve been on Qulipta for 2.5 months, and at first, it was great! Went 10 days without a headache. Then they began to creep back in. Month two - I had two migraines, which I haven’t had in about 10 years. I went off for a couple of days. Migraines went away. Then took it again, first two days I had headaches and then another migraine. I also can’t take it at night because it gives me insomnia. When I take it in the morning, I sometimes have a histamine reaction like I have a bad cold for several hours, and my eyes feel swollen, and I get constipation and nausea. I was hopeful at first, but I think it’s a no for me."

"Been taking Qulipta now for about 1 month for chronic migraine. I was having 4-5 serious headaches per month prior to. Most responded to Fiorcet, but decreasingly so and was very disruptive to daily life. I also struggled with pre-migraine symptoms almost daily. Even after 30 days, I feel that I have had a significant reduction in pre-migraine (less brain fog, less visual aura), and what headaches I have come on slower and are less severe. Headache meds, when I do have a full-on migraine, are more effective. Trending in the right direction."

"This has been the best medication I have ever taken. The only problem I have now is my insurance will not cover it. I didn't have any side effects and hardly ever had a migraine. I would still be taking it if my insurance would pay for it."

"I was getting 15-20 migraines/month. Migraines were not ever bad enough to put me in bed but were more like a strong, lingering headache that could go for days if not treated. I tried other meds first, including Botox, which I still use. Qulipta (60 mg pill 1x/day in PM) has been amazing though and the best by far. It took around 1.5 months to start working, but now I am only getting a few migraines every month and have been able to treat them with OTC meds instead of a triptan rescue med, which I did not like due to side effects. No side effects from Qulipta other than constipation, but it is really manageable... just drink lots of water. Note: no way to know for sure how much of my relief is from the Botox (I've only had two treatments) or the Qulipta. I hope to continue taking both!"

"Has been a miracle for my headaches. Bottom line...from 5 to 1 headache a week...instantly. Been without any help for 50 years. Now the bad... I have lost a LOT of weight. This med completely kills my taste for food. I want to eat but all tastes the same. So, I eat just to survive...not to enjoy."

"Currently take this, and it works fairly well for me. Kind of reminds me of Nurtec with its intended purpose and category. Went from 10-15 migraines a month to 3-6. Only downside, I couldn’t eat much anymore due to loss of appetite and lost a lot of weight. To fix this, I was instructed to cut it in half, which seems to have worked well so far."

"I have suffered from migraines since I was a year old. I've tried everything, and nothing has worked. I've been on this medication for about 8 months, and it has decreased my headaches from 4 to 8 per month to 1 migraine in 8 months! This medication has been a lifesaver and has changed my life."

"I'm a male, migraine sufferer for 40+ years. Have tried it all before with different meds, acupuncture, and Botox - with no improvement. Started Qulipta one year ago, and zero migraines since. All my daily headaches are gone too. This is truly life-changing."

"Thought I was suffering sinus headaches. 2 Drs. diagnosed migraines. Take 60 mg Qulipta before bed. Constipation is unbelievable. Went from a few days between relief to 8 days. Nothing helps. I still have constant 'sinus' pressure, but it's not severe. I haven't paid anything for 3 months. Now the pharmacy is saying they need insurance approval. I won't pay more than $1000 for this medicine. Taking the last pill tonight."

"Qulipta has been amazing. I've been taking the 60 mg dose for a year now, and have gone from having a migraine 50% of my time to maybe 10 migraines in 12 months. My only side effect has been constipation, but that's preferable to the headaches. My only problem has been getting the savings card to work. I have private insurance which brings the cost down to around $300/month, but I have had to make multiple phone calls almost every month to get the savings card to work. It starts with the pharmacy (tells me the card doesn't work), then AbbVie call (they tell me the card is fine and should work), then Opus (they have a variety of reasons: the wrong code was entered by the pharmacy, etc.), then usually back to the doctor (verifying that there was pre-authorization), the insurance (verifying that they are processing it correctly on their end), then back to the pharmacy again. It's only worth it because this is the only medication that has worked for me."

"I started taking Qulipta for migraine prevention about a year ago. It has totally changed my life. Before Qulipta, I took amitriptyline to prevent migraines but it didn’t help very much and had a whole bunch of unpleasant side effects, and even with amitriptyline, I still needed to take a migraine treatment (for acute migraine) 15 times a month or more. Qulipta made it possible for me to wean off of amitriptyline and dramatically reduced the number of migraines I get each month and the number of times I need to take an additional migraine treatment. Now I have closer to four migraines per month, and they are much less severe and the acute medicine I take (ubrelvy) stops the migraine much more effectively. Qulipta works great for me!"

"Qulipta was prescribed to me for migraine headaches. I have headaches that vary according to a pain scale of 4-9 about an average of 12 times a month, with auras of both photophobia and photophobia, numbness and tingling in my face, body fatigue, nausea, and dizziness. Qulipta has helped diminish the headaches but also caused me to be extremely tired and dizzy from time to time. I was officially put on the highest dosage (60 mg) of Qulipta in the beginning, and the neurologist lowered the dose to (30 mg). The higher dosage of 60 mg caused me to not be able to function. I would sleep for 3-4 days straight, I would not be hungry or thirsty during that time because I was sleeping all the time. Pulling back on the dosage to 30 mg daily has helped me greatly. I have not been taking Qulipta for very long. I hope this continues to work. One other problem that I have with Qulipta is $$$. I had to go through many different medications before approval by my insurance company."

"I am taking Qulipta as a replacement for Fioricet. It works, though not as well. It also has more side effects, causing significant fatigue, constipation, and nausea. I am hoping that the side effects lessen after taking Qulipta for a bit longer as I have only been on it 2-3 weeks. If the side effects do not reduce, the limited benefit of somewhat reduced headache intensity and frequency will not outweigh the detriment of the side effects."

"I've been taking this drug for about a month now as a replacement for Emgality. Emgality was really back and forth for me. Sometimes it worked well for the month, sometimes it felt like it lasted less than the month, other times it felt like it did nothing. I've been taking Qulipta now for about 6 weeks along with other drugs/supplements. I've had far less downtime and far fewer full-blown migraine days. I'm not wholly convinced yet this is the magic bullet, and I don't think I can stop taking other medications along with it, but I'm fairly happy with the results so far."

"Qulipta has given me my life back. So many blood pressure meds, shots, days and days AND DAYS of me laying on the couch in the dark with an ice pack on my head trying to just live let alone be a functional adult. I'm getting my life back. I've been out of work so long my savings are gone, part of the time we're without a utility for a day or two before I can pay to get it back on. I almost lost the house. Credit cards are maxed. Only side effect I've noticed is I have atopic dermatitis on my arms now? It's just raised bumps all over my upper and lower arms, listen I'll take it. Long as they don't turn wild I'll keep on the 60mg a day. I wouldn't wish chronic migraine on my worst enemy."

"I’ve been taking Qulipta for three months now, and it seems to be working better than Aimovig and Topamax, etc. I just get stomach upset and very loose stools, which occurs once I wake up in the morning. I also experience vertigo with migraines, and some side effects cause dizziness, which is no fun to deal with. Overall, this medication does reduce the number of migraines I used to have and gets my activities back, but some side effects are unpleasant for me, particularly since I’m very sensitive to medication."
