Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "I just started 60mg of Qulipta one week ago. I've been noticing a lot of redness primarily in my face and on my scalp since starting this med, especially after showering. It kind of feels and looks like a sunburn, with some stinging. Has anyone else had a similar experience? It's too early to tell how well it's working. I also got Botox injections the day prior to starting Qulipta. I'm hoping the combination will be effective in minimizing the number of migraines I experience."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "I have just finished my 1st month of Qulipta 60mg and I didn't have a single headache all month! I've only had 2 side effects. First is off and on profuse sweating and feeling hot. It was pretty bad at first but now it's subsiding. The 2nd, I had an upper respiratory infection and was put on Augmentin and I experienced severe dizziness the whole time. To the point of falling over. I've been on Augmentin before and never had dizziness so I can only assume it didn't mix well with the Qulipta."

For Chronic Migraine "After 6 weeks on 60 mg atogepant, the migraine ceased. It had been occurring every 2-3 days, so this was a relief. It does have side effects for me though: hair loss, weight gain, fatigue, breathlessness, constipation."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "For the first time in my life, I am not a migraine sufferer. Qulipta has eliminated almost all headaches for me. I may experience the occasional headache, but aspirin usually takes care of them now. I've had no symptoms for the first year, but have recently begun to have back pain. I'm not certain if this is a side effect of taking Qulipta, and I'm wondering if there are other people who take Qulipta and are also experiencing back pain."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "Definitely worth a try. I was prescribed 60mg but started off splitting in 4ths (15mg). I'm sensitive to drugs so I decided to be cautious and I'm glad I did because this is a powerful drug… or I'm just super sensitive. On 15mg the first week, I was extremely tired and had some insomnia/irritability. All have calmed down significantly after about 2 weeks along with minimal headaches. I bumped up to 30mg and felt pretty good, just a little constipation, so you may need to start eating more fiber. Be warned that insurance companies LOVE to randomly stop paying for this drug since it is so expensive. Doctors say there is no withdrawal, but many patients say there is. Since I am taking a lower dose for a bit, I will have pills left over in case insurance tries to pull this on me. All in all, it's definitely worth a try, but it may take a few weeks for your body to adjust. Try and stick with it for at least a month or two."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "I have been on 60mg of Qulipta for about a month. It's been great for my migraines. I only had one. I normally have 4 to 5 a week. I unfortunately had to stop taking it due to severe stomach issues. I had major constipation and bloating. My stomach looked like I was 4 months pregnant. Extremely uncomfortable. I can't live on laxatives every day either. Plus my insurance doesn't cover the medication and I can't afford to pay $1,200 every month. I will go back to taking Aimovig, which is covered and gave me no side effects."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "I am in my 50s. History of chronic migraines for 30 years (20+ migraine days/month). Started 30mg Qulipta in December. Initial nausea for the first few weeks. Migraines were down to 1-2 a month, however, they have crept up again in the last 4 weeks, 2-3 migraine days per week. Going to try the 60 mg dose. The first few months on Qulipta were magical!"

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "I have been on Qulipta for a few months. I averaged 15 or more severe cluster migraines a month. I take 60mg 1x a day. Pros are that my migraines have definitely reduced, averaging maybe 1 or 2x a week. Cons are the following: severe constipation, weird and at times horrific, vivid nightmares, and when I do get a migraine, it’s extremely severe and basically shuts me down for the day."

For Chronic Migraine "I have been using Qulipta (atogepant) 60mg once daily now for 9 months. I have chronic migraines and daily chronic headaches. What I have found with using Qulipta is that my daily headaches have reduced in severity and now I can use ibuprofen to knock them down, whereas before, they would just develop into daily migraines. When starting Qulipta, I did experience nausea for a few months, but I stuck it out because I needed to find something that helped my headaches. I wanted to try Qulipta as a daily preventative because its sister medication, Ubrelvy, works great for me when I do get a migraine. I wish Qulipta would help slightly more, but I am already on the maximum dose. For now, I am continuing with the Qulipta daily along with my quarterly Botox regimen."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "I started taking Qulipta about 2 months ago. I've suffered from migraines since I was 3. I have had chronic headaches my whole life. I've tried so many medications, and the side effects were crazy, and I couldn't take them. This is the first medication that actually works. The only side effects I really have are constipation and fatigue. And my appetite has decreased, which is fine with me. I highly recommend!"

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "Definitely helps with migraines. I still get headaches, but they are milder, so a dose of Excedrin will take care of it instead of the whole 3 days. Room spinning and the need for a dark room are significantly reduced."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "Worked great for migraines, but side effects not worth it: initially had rash, hair seems to be falling out, overall sense of numbness (clearly affecting sex drive/performance), insomnia. I'm only taking the 30mg. No question that it's the drug causing these."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "I have had daily headaches and migraines for many years. My doctor has prescribed many different meds for prevention and daily headaches and migraines, but nothing worked. Qulipta works! I don't have the daily headaches and I've only had two migraines in the past five weeks. It's expensive, but it works!!"

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "Completely changed my life. I went from 4 migraines a week to 0. I finally have my life back after 6 years of debilitating headaches! I take one pill each night before bed and have not had a migraine since starting the medication over a month ago. My only side effect is mild constipation. Also, my insurance doesn't cover it so I'm trying to figure out how to continue it. I'm desperate and don't know what I will do if I can't get it anymore."

For Migraine Prevention "I used Atogepant for over six months. I suffer from migraines and all types of headaches. I used it in conjunction with migraine Botox treatment. The combination of the two definitely improved the quantity and severity. The only downside was the pain on my right lower back due to constipation despite eating a lot of fiber as well as fatigue and cravings. I have been off the Atogepant for over two weeks and have been suffering from migraines and headaches again. Insurance does not want to cover the Atogepant..."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "I have been on amitriptyline for 7 years. Beginning a year ago, I was on a very high dose, one of the highest you can take, and still getting multiple migraines a week. I was then offered Qulipta, and it has helped tremendously, but I still have to take amitriptyline every day with the Qulipta. I went from 5-6 migraines a week to maybe 1 every 2-3 weeks. I have been taking it in the morning and haven't had any issues with sleepiness. However, one missed dose for me means an immediate migraine, so I've had to really stay on top of the timing of my dose. The only side effect I seem to have, which is not listed, is hair loss. It may not be connected, but it didn't start until I began this medication. Overall, I would definitely recommend Qulipta."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "13 days ago I started 30 mg daily of Qulipta with zero expectations. Today, I am going on day 13 of not having a migraine. I can honestly say this medication has changed my entire life in only 13 days. Upon taking my first dose, the first three days following, I had horrendous sharp stomach pain and constipation. These side effects are finally easing up but not entirely. For me, the pros versus cons in taking this medication was something I really thought long and hard about before taking it. I ultimately decided that stomach pain over multiple migraines a week was something I could deal with. I’m hoping it’s temporary and will subside even more than it already has. I have also been tired in a way that is kind of hard to describe but not to the point where I can’t function on a regular level. I feel like my body is getting used to this medication slowly but it feels like it's working! I can still feel the mood changes associated with my migraines, which is crazy, but overall 10/10"

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "I have suffered from migraines for 28 years. I've also been diagnosed with bruxism, which is nightly teeth clenching that causes me to wake up with a headache almost every day. Some turned into migraines, some didn't. Some just plain started as migraines. Doctors have had me try Verapamil, Topamax, Prednisone, Nortriptyline with no success. I've been to physical therapy, tried acupuncture, seen neurologists to no avail. I was getting anywhere from one migraine per week up to four! That wasn't counting the headaches that didn't turn into migraines. Those were as little as one per week up to 6!! Nothing seemed to help until my doctor suggested Qulipta. It's only been three weeks, but the difference has been amazing!! In that time, I've only had two migraines and one minor headache!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that AbbVie will continue to allow me to use coupons to purchase this, my insurance continues to approve this, and it continues to work!!!"

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "I have found results really quickly but as my body adjusted I needed a higher dose. 60mg. I am very impressed. I was in pain daily and limited all activities just to prevent a migraine attack. This has become my new preventative. Only 3 weeks in though."

For Chronic Migraine "The only thing in over 20 years of trying that has helped the migraines. The first year, I did not have any migraines, now they are starting to come back, but nothing I cannot live with. The only side effect is dizziness when standing, even to the point of passing out a few times. I just need to remember not to get up quick and start walking. Still would not stop this, to be free of being in bed for days with a migraine is worth much more."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "I've had chronic migraines since I was 13 and headaches before 13 years old. I've been on MULTIPLE medications, some help but none really take them away. I got Qulipta prescribed to me (I take 60mg in the morning daily) and ever since I've been on it, they have improved so much. I'll occasionally get a headache but it's not like the others. I haven't had any side effects that are listed on the bottle or what your doctor tells you (but it might not be the same for you)."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "Qulipta has been a life changer for me. I've tried every medication, diet change, and all-natural remedies to no avail. I cut my 60 mg pill in half because I don't have insurance. Since day one of taking the meds, I've barely had any migraines. I went from 3-4 days in bed all day to 0. At first, I was afraid they would come back, but after 3 months on the meds, I have hope. I've only had one or two less severe migraines in 3 months. Unbelievable for me. I thought I would never find help. The only side effects I've had is constipation, so I take a stool softener 2x per day, and that has helped. The constipation was so bad it was like having cement in my bowels. No kidding. Also, I've experienced a little problem with staying asleep, but I’ll take that any day over being bedridden. I highly recommend Qulipta and hope it becomes more affordable soon."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "I’ve been suffering from chronic migraines for most of my life, and I used a sample from my doctor. Within a week, I was not getting any migraines. I was a little bit sleepy on it, so I took it at night instead of the morning, and there were no problems—migraine free for a month. I’m just miserable that my insurance doesn’t cover it."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "For the last 30 years, I was having one migraine episode every 5 days, and now with Qulipta 30 mg once a day, it's been 2 weeks without any (using samples). I am going to ask for a prescription. It's a wonder drug!!! Finally, my wishes have manifested with this discovery. All usual sensitivity towards migraine triggers have gone. I am so happy with the results, you can't imagine. Yet, I have not seen any weight loss or any side effects in the last 2 weeks. Highly recommend trying this drug. Life changer. I take it with the first tea/snack in the morning."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "Qulipta has been extremely effective for me. I’ve been taking it for 8 months, and in that time have only had 3 migraines. I used to get 4-6 a month on average. The three I got while on Qulipta all came when I had several triggers, and they responded well to my triptan. My only side effect has been some mild constipation, which I have found easy to manage with the occasional smooth move tea."
