Nuvigil (armodafinil) "I have been on Temodar 315 mg for 5 days once a month maximum dose of Avastin every other week for 8 months and will continue 4 more months before going on just Avastin. I had a cancerous brain tumor removed then radiation. All of these treatments cause "profound fatigue," yet no relief for this is covered by insurance. Physically I can function fine except for the fatigue. My condition is not really curable at this point in time, but I want to at least be able to do something with the time I have left, even if it's nothing more than take a walk with my wife. 150 mg daily of Nuvigil has allowed me to do this. Medicare nor supplement cover it. Ritalin shot my blood pressure up to 200/100 and a trip to the ER."

Nuvigil (armodafinil) "My nervous system is extremely sensitive to this medicine. However I take a fourth of a 150mg tablet every 5 hrs or so. This keeps my nervous system in check and my POTS symptoms subside. Sometimes it gives me cold hands and feet and anxiety however it is worth that compared to the brain fog with POTS."

Nuvigil (armodafinil) "Wow, since taking Nuvigil I am able to task busily all day without afternoon nap and general fatigue. It also has increased my adult cardio activity beautifully (if you know what I mean). I was a little jittery the first day and waited a week for 2nd try. Now 4 days into it and awesome. Hope it stays working like this."

Nuvigil (armodafinil) "Have been taking Provigil for several years, after a head injury, to help with fatigue and focus. Lost my job, and no health insurance, so decided to try a 14-day free sample of Nuvigil while waiting for prescription assistance. Was taking 100mg Provigil 1-2 times a day and it helped a lot when I needed it (I went through phases of taking and then not taking it as needed). On Nuvigil, I was severely manic yesterday (2nd day at 150mg) to the point where my friends were concerned about me. Felt jittery, and my friends said it looked like I was high. Felt a little like the couple of days when my doctor tried me on Adderal. I think I will wait until I get the Provigil approved. "

"I have been taking this drug for about 2 months without any significant improvement with my "always feeling drowsy" as well as chronic fatigue syndrome. I started with 150mg a day and my dose has increased Although it keeps me awake, but does not much help with my "feeling of lethargy and fatigue" I can suggest this medicine to those who only suffers from excessive drowsiness or daytime sleeping. Others may want to find different substitutes eg. methylphenidate. Note that I was prescribed with armodafinil by a professional psychiatrist and I do not advise or promote anyone to self medicate based on my experience."

Nuvigil (armodafinil) "I have CFS/Fibromyalgia as a result of a TTP episode that almost killed me. Ever since the TTP episode I have never been the same. I had to leave my job that I loved dearly. The Fibromyalgia has destroyed my quality of life as I knew it before my illness. I started seeing a Fibro Specialist who worked with me and came up with the idea to try Provigil to increase my quality of life. That worked great but the problem was the cost and insurance not willing to cover it. So, we decided to try Nuvigil because it was half the cost of the Provigil (over $600 for 30 pills), Nuvigil I could get for about $311.00 for 30 250mg tablets but insurance still won't cover it for my conditions. This gave me my life back to some degree."

"Tried for massive fatigue related to MS and had high hopes. Unfortunately, it made me so dizzy I could hardly stand, gave me extreme diarrhea and nausea. I’m looking forward to the side effects going away and going back to my normal exhausted self."

Nuvigil (armodafinil) "After being in the Military many years, I have been through a lot. I have severe fatigue. I pushed myself in the past to the point of falling asleep while standing. Just pushing myself because it's not fun being fatigued, and on the couch, sleeping tired, etc. I also deal with a lot of pain, Blown disc: back, neck and past surgeries on top of it all, and more. And that alone will wear on ones mind to fight it off. This is only my second day taking Nuvigil, so far I have noticed more mental concentration, and sensory perception: eye-sight, hearing, smell, and taste. I am sure more is still to come. Right now I can not fully rate Nuvigil because of my short duration of taking this medicine. As of now I am basically still fatigued physically."

"I take 1/2 of a 250mg tablet for several conditions that cause chronic fatigue. It helps so much with my fatigue, cognitive function, mood and my pain levels! I have chronic pain and take pain medication but I have noticed the armodafinil is helping by reducing overall pain! What a pleasant surprise! I've been on the armodafinil about 3 weeks now so I will continue to watch. Excellent medication for me!"

"Well, this is not the magic pill for me. I have been on Adderall and Provigil and have not been able to tolerate/liked either. I had hoped Provigil would help since I have heard such good things about it helping people who suffer from fatigue. I had to snap the 200mg Provigil in half AND only take it after eating a full meal in order to not shake and not have my muscles tense up and chest feel tight. It was pretty much like caffeine. It woke my body up but not my mind. I still craved a nap and had brain fog. I told my Dr. about this and she suggested trying Nuvigil. I have been on it two days and it feels the same as Provigil. Maybe a little more tolerable, but no magic "I feel incredible!" feeling. Boooooo."

"I have Sjrogren's Syndrome which basically has the same symptoms as Lupus. The fatigue was really bad and I did not have a lot of quality time where I felt good. I have been taking some samples of Nuvigil and it has been great! I actually can get through the day and have a little energy when I get home. I hope it continues to work! I had a headache a little the first couple of days, but no side effects since then."

"This medication is amazing. Within minutes of taking, I’ll realize I’m awake, ready to take care of business. I’ve always been able to sleep and eat while taking. I do become a chatterbox, but focused. I no longer have to use CPAP, and barely snore, allowing me good sleep. Highly recommend."

"Sinemet caused extreme fatigue and zombie like stage. Fell asleep during a conversation and driving. Prescribed Armodafinil. Did not see any improvements at all. Dr changed to Ritalin as my blood pressure was extremely low. That helped some but still very sleepy."
