For Deep Vein Thrombosis "For me, eating snow peas, string beans and salads...NO NO on Eliquis. Every body is different. What works on one not necessarily works for another. I had more leg pain. In fact, more difficult to walk. Stopped eating the green stuff and in a few days, was able to walk better. Tried eating green vegetables again, pain returned. Stopped eating the green vegetables, able to walk better. Just my experience with Eliquis and green vegetables."

For Deep Vein Thrombosis "I've been on Eliquis for a little over a month now. Started on the 7 days 20 mg and am now on the 10 mg dose until Oct. I sometimes feel dizzy or get mild headaches while on it. The head aches come and go. I can't wait to be off it."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "Because of an erratic heartbeat, my cardiologist put me on Eliquis 2.5mg twice a day. I have been on this med for about 4 months. Mainly, I am having pain in my feet and redness, particularly when I get up in the morning. Also, I have pain in my left ankle, together with one of my toes. I have also noticed pains in my arms and hands. I keep thinking it is arthritis. In addition, I feel out of balance when I walk, plus vision seems affected. I still function, but moderately. I also take Metoprolol, 12.5mg per day. Help... I am 81 years old."

For Deep Vein Thrombosis "I was put on Eliquis by my MD just because he liked it better than Warfarin. I was previously on Warfarin with no problems. On Eliquis, I have experienced severe muscle spasms and weakness. I am also very tired, eyes are blurry, nose bleeds, weight gain, itching, and just general malaise. I asked my doctor several times to take me off Eliquis and put me back on Warfarin. He refused. I changed doctors, got off the Eliquis, and back on Warfarin. I now feel so much better, and my muscles are getting stronger, and I have my energy back. This Eliquis is poison to me. I also will note I had no A-Fib. I never did. Listen to your body. It knows best."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "I can't tell how effective Eliquis was as I was only able to take it for three days before stopping. It gave me terrible stomach and intestinal issues. Also, headache, blurry vision, weakness. Doc switched me to Xarelto which gave me worse side effects. Now on Coumadin as a last resort and having stomach issues from that as well. My doctor is understanding but I am preparing for an ablation and so need to be on a blood thinner for 1 month before and 1 month after. I am so sensitive to all meds and hoping I can tough it out."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "I have been diagnosed with intermittent atrial fibrillation. I am 59 years old and was put on Eliquis. After a month, I have dizzy spells where I feel like I am going to faint and feel very weak. It has gotten to the point where I am scared to drive. I am also supposed to start taking Multaq, a heart pill, but I am scared due to the side effects I have read about. I am currently waiting on Multaq because I now have gallstones and will need surgery. I feel like I have no life now."

For Pulmonary Embolism "I have been on Eliquis for pulmonary embolism in both lungs. I was a healthy, active 42-year-old woman, and no reason for them. I had severe headaches, muscle weakness, and fatigue for a few weeks. I started feeling a lot better and was doing well with my usual kickboxing workout until recently. I am now experiencing fatigue and severe back pain, as well as dizziness and shortness of breath. I'm hoping I can get off of the meds in March. Anyone else experience this?"

I have had constant chest pain, palpitations, and shortness of breath. For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "I was diagnosed with afib about 6 years ago. Given flecainide and told to take 2 low-dose aspirin. Recently, the doctor told me aspirin was not sufficient to prevent a stroke. He prescribed Eliquis 5mg twice a day. I have been suffering from headaches. They feel like pressure on the top of my head. In addition, I am very tired and I don't feel as though I think as clearly. I will be seeing the doctor next week. I hope he takes me off this medication. I honestly do not feel well. I am 72 years of age."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "I have Atrial Fibrillation and thought I would try Eliquis due to its superior safety protocol. I have only been on it for 2 weeks but after the first several days, I have noticed an increasing burning/flushing sensation similar to a sunburn over most of my body. I have not had any gastrointestinal upset. I will continue to take Eliquis for a few more days but may have to discontinue it."

For Pulmonary Embolism "Aug 2020 At 55 years old I was diagnosed with multiple PE's and was on Eliquis for 7 months. Believed to be caused by my Lo Loestrin I had been taking. Although weight gain is not listed as a major side effect my weight did go up considerably while on Eliquis. I experienced fatigue, extreme menstrual bleeding, and blood in my urine. Also slight side effects of water retention and small needle -like pains in my legs. My Dr. is allowing me to finally get off it so looking forward to seeing if these things improve."

For Pulmonary Embolism "Had 3 PEs in both lungs with no DVTs diagnosed as reaction to varicose vein surgery. Was tested for hereditary clotting factors and have 2 borderline factors. No PEs returned but Dr wants me on this stuff for life. Have been slowly getting more and more muscle pain and weakness all over. Thought fibromyalgia was getting worse till I stopped taking eliquis for a few days for a medical procedure and by day 2 felt like a new person. Informed Dr and was told to stay on it which I will be discussing with him next visit. The way I feel the inactivity will kill me faster than another PE will"

For Deep Vein Thrombosis Prophylaxis after Knee Replacement Surgery "I would like to know if anyone else on Eliquis has experienced the following while on this med. I have had a 12-pound weight gain in three months, a cough that won’t go away, gout, balance issues, and serious joint pain. Am I the only one? Are others experiencing some of the same? Every day I wake up, my weight is up two more pounds. I am very tired all the time. Help, I feel like I am going nuts, and the doctors think I am a hypochondriac."

For Deep Vein Thrombosis, Prophylaxis "I had been on Warfarin for 20 years, and would occasionally get clots which came up from my legs, and while painful for a day or two, the Warfarin would eat them up, I was instructed not to inform the doctor if they were just small and painful, because I was therapeutic and there was nothing they could do for me at the hospital. If they were large enough, off to the catheterization lab, of course-. Eliquis does not eat them up. I have had a small clot for over two weeks now, and it's not going away. Not only that, but the circulation in my left leg has been set back a decade from switching to it; my blood is nice and thin, I bleed readily enough, but Eliquis is no match for Warfarin when it comes to old growth stuff. As a preventative, I bet it works great, but it is not for my rare case."

For Pulmonary Embolism "I had a blood clot in my leg (DVT) Which caused a clot to go to my right lung (PE). Started taking the drug Eliquis at the hospital. My first prescription was filled at Walmart for $78.00 with insurance. CVS Charged be $40.00 for my second prescription with insurance. I called Eliquis and did qualify for a $10.00 copay card. Yea! I've experience nose bleeds after blowing my nose. I've had dizzy spells that feel like very low blood pressure or feel like passing out after standing. Sometimes I'm ok but, after about 20 steps it hits me hard. I've had rashes on my hip and pectoral region of chest. I've had to itch my arm and ended up causing a bruise. Be careful and scratch lightly. Please quit smoking if any way possible."
