Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I have been taking Adderall for a long time. ADHD doesn't just go away. The only issue I've been experiencing is not knowing when or if I'll be able to pick up my prescription when it's due. I haven't seen a Teva or Sandoz in two years or more. My prescription is filled with something different every month. My system seems confused; I don't respond very well to some of the replacements I've been dispensed. I'm grateful my pharmacist goes the extra mile to find my medication. Unfortunately, different manufacturers produce different results. Without this medication, I can't focus or read. The simple things in life become impossible. I would like to see an end to this shortage; for me, receiving the same manufacturer of Adderall month to month is very important. It may be hard for some to understand, but it's a reality for me. Let's fix this problem of Adderall not being available. For anyone who doesn't have ADHD or narcolepsy, it's not possible for them to understand."

Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I am currently on Adderall XR 30MG, and it has changed so many different aspects of my life, including depression. I was prescribed Adderall because I was about to be terminated from my job. Back to the drug, I take it around 6am everyday, and found that my overall mood has changed. I am not as emotional as I was before, yet I am still able to express my feelings when necessary without the full breakdowns. I have been dealing with Major Depressive Disorder, and this medication has alleviated most of those feelings. However, the medication has not been a miracle drug, and it contains no magic! For me, ADD has always been there. For me, it took me to be 36 years old to finally realize it was time to visit a psychiatrist, regardless of all the negative stigmas; I was glad I did, because it gave me many suspected answers, rather than self diagnosing situations."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "During school, I struggled with learning; despite hard work, I barely graduated. By the time I reached high school, I wanted to give up. As an adult, I experienced the same difficulties in employment. I became depressed and almost gave up. Fortunately, I was tested for ADHD. Diagnosis revealed severe ADHD. Within an hour of taking the first dosage, my brain seemed to turn on and function at its optimum potential. I felt truly alert, focused, and clear-headed. I found I could complete tasks competently. Without Adderall, I'm useless. Adderall has improved my focus, ability, and competency in every aspect of life. It's a battery for my brain. I am dependent on Adderall for full functioning capacity. My well-being and livelihood are compromised without this medicine."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I got diagnosed with ADHD at the beginning of this school year, being my senior year of high school. Since 8th grade, I've struggled in school, been incredibly impulsive, had very strange eating habits, overthought everything, and could never contain my anger or anxiety. Once prescribed, my life has changed. My grades went up, and in 3 months I've lost almost 30 pounds (I am still in the normal BMI range). I can control myself. I finally believe in myself because of Adderall."

"This medication amphetamine/dextroamphetamine has made me feel VERY JITTERY and sick to my stomach! I take generic TEVA brand orange tab 30 mg. The pharmacy didn’t have any of the TEVA brand so they gave me generic U31 tablet - Aurolife Pharma, LLC brand. This is horrible! People take time off work to be seen by doctor, get put on meds for a reason, spend money for the appointment and meds, all the time you spend doing this & it can’t be returned back to Walmart to get my right medicine because “it’s against the law” supposedly! Even when I have the entire prescription (minus one) to give them back. Why make people feel like this when they do so much to try and make life easier being on their meds. I don’t have insurance so my doc visit is almost $100 & medicine is around $60 every month. My 7 year old daughters meds were switched as well. I’m scared to even give her medicine! How can Walmart just give you a different brand that you’ve never taken and not tell me before I leave it’s different!?"

"The generic manufacturer of amphetamine & dextroamphetamine, Sandoz, is the only one that works for me. This month the manufacturer is Northstar and last month Aurobindo, and they are garbage. They don’t help AT ALL with my focus. Zero. I am irritable. I am getting nothing done and my anxiety is sky high. I am going to stop taking these brands and ask the pharmacy for Sandoz. I complained to the FDA and urge others to do so as well. This is ridiculous."

Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "Adderall XR was originally prescribed to me for ADD, but it worked best as a terrific antidepressant. However, now that I've been on it for 20 straight years at 40-80 mg. Daily, it has very little antidepressant effect now. It's Adderall burnout -- apparently it strips the brain of dopamine -- the feel-good hormone. I still have to take it just to do anything at all each day. The worst effect is insomnia -- no matter how early I take it. It keeps me up for 24 hours unless I finally have to take Seroquel for sleep. Seroquel is the only thing that will knock out Adderall XR. But I hate it because it makes me so damn sluggish in the morning, awful. I cannot believe it's 2020, and there is still no decent antidep medication available,"

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I have been on Adderall XR for 21 yrs. Three months ago my script was filled with Lannett "generic" XR. I have taken Teva generic and had no issues so wasn't concerned. At about the same time I started having issues with depression, body aches, and brain fog. About two months later I started an anti-depressant because I thought I was just depressed. I ended up being allergic to the anti-depressant so had to get off of it. Following that, the symptoms just got worse, at one point I didn't get out of bed for a week. By chance, I didn't take the Lannett XR, and I noticed a significant change in how I felt. I switched to a different manufacturer because only Lannett XR was available (due to the Teva outage). Within 2 days of being on that, my symptoms significantly improved. The next month I decided to pay out of pocket for brand XR and all the symptoms went away. Lannett is awful, I'm not sure what the FDA approved here as a "generic" but for me, it was horrible and led to major depressive disorder."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "Glad I'm not alone with my experience of the different manufacturers. Core brand is by far the best brand I've experienced, but of course, it's been discontinued for years. I've tried at least 10 different brands and they're all different. Some put me to sleep or make me nauseous, some last for up to 20 hours while not helping at all with concentration, some make my heart race. Today, if I can't get Northstar, I'm not going to fill my prescription. Shame on the FDA for not listening to us."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "Lannett is horrible. Good to see so many agree. My CVS and Walgreens claim its the only mfg they can get. This is just wrong. Sandoz was by far the best. My pharmacist would order it for me, now it's only Lannett! To expect a patient to accept what they're given, without choice, is absurd. If ALL of us contact FDA they may pay attention. AND(!) each state, or region, has a FDA Consumer Complaint Coordinator. The form looks daunting but not that difficult. Google fda consumer complaint form and go from there Strength in numbers! We can sit around and complain, but that is not going to make the change. Good luck!"

Mydayis (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I was put on Mydayis, and for six months, I absolutely loved it. It worked so well. At the time, I had a coupon, so after the coupon expired, even with insurance it is way too expensive every month, so I had to switch. I would have been a loyal customer too, but Mydayis is just way, way too expensive! I don’t understand why you make a drug, and it works for people, but everyday people can’t afford it, even with insurance."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "DO NOT TAKE THE LANNETT, ELI-515. If you struggle with anxiety, depression I wouldn't recommend this. I was given it, it is not adderall. It’s a therapeutic equivalent. My other meds stayed the same, my routine, diet except for getting this. It has rendered me completely hopeless, crippling depression, lethargic, overwhelmingly anxious, my stomach is churning non-stop so I cannot even eat on it without getting violently ill. I saw my psych after a week on it, for 6 days thinking it was adderall and I was just doing something wrong. I told my psych the pill description and how it made me feel, he looked it up and said “no you’re not making any of this up, this isn’t the correct medication but unfortunately the pharmacy input it as adderall so legally we can’t do much about it.” I have flushed it down the toilet. If you receive these at a pharmacy please speak the the pharmacist directly about it."

Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I had unknowingly suffered from ADHD-PI for my entire life. I was constantly in trouble for losing my things, not paying attention in class, forgetting conversations, being unable to understand conversations, so on and so forth. My life was a wreck. My parents constantly told me that I was lazy and worthless. After I joined the military, I was diagnosed with ADHD and Adderall was the first and only medication that I was put on. I went from being the clumsy loser to the office hero. I recently started college and so far, I'm getting straight A's. This medication makes me cool, logical, and focused. I took off a star because it makes me forget to eat sometimes and that makes me tired."

Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I am a male in my thirties. Adderall is the third drug I tried to tread ADHD after doing trials on Vyvanse and Concerta. Vyvanse worked but did not last long enough and I had bad crashing (headache, exhaustion). Concerta did not work for me at all, made me lethargic and even more distracted. Adderall at 20mg a day gives me energy to focus on work and my kids. It lasts me until sometime in the evening. I have trouble sleeping some nights on it, other than that the side effects are negligible."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I was diagnosed with adult ADHD last summer. I had it my entire life but only realized it about 2 years ago when I started reading the DSM-5 manual (that light bulb switched on!). I have tried Vyvanse, Astarys, and Adderall XR and IR. I prefer the Adderall IR because I can partially dose on an as-needed basis, but it has improved my life and work performance immeasurably. I have taken Metoprolol for a little over 3 years and the combo worked great until about 3 weeks ago when I started getting heart palpitations, high BP, cramps, etc. After a little research (I’m a Ph.D. - research is my game), I concluded that for whatever reason my potassium levels were low. I started eating bananas, peanut butter, electrolytes, taking magnesium and potassium citrate, etc., and everything improved within 48 hours. Not sure if Adderall slowly sucks nutrients out of your system. Apart from that episode, Adderall has been great. I recommend Arginine, beets & Citrulline with it. Male, 46, 225 lbs."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "Adderall has totally brought my life into focus. I started taking it about 6 months ago. I'm 39 now and really wish I had this medicine as a kid. In addition to ADD, I had severe anxiety and depression as a child/teenager. Adderall has given me focus, lifted my general mood, taken my anxiety away, and made me a productive human being. I'm actually starting my own business! The only bad thing is that you really have to be careful of how much you take because it can have the opposite effect, i.e., severe anxiety and no focus, but if you take it the right way, it will change your life! One other bad thing is the stigma surrounding the medicine and being treated like an addict by some pharmacists."

Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I take 20mg Adderall XR daily for ADHD. I feel extremely productive, focused, and proactive while on it. My first day taking it, I usually am a normal eater. I could only eat a sandwich bag of pretzels before losing any appetite. That night, despite eating almost nothing, I biked 21 miles (my standard biking route) without stopping in record time, without even feeling exhausted. Now, each day I take it, I feel very intelligent and concentrated, and come up with ideas easily, as well as feeling great all the time. In my opinion, Adderall is the greatest thing to grace humankind, and I would suggest it to anybody who has difficulty focusing, especially if you are overweight. I lost 25 lbs in my first 3 months taking it, though."

Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I absolutely love Adderall. It helps me to complete my tasks, and I have no problem skipping it when I don't have any projects or paperwork to do. I don't ever think about it when I skip it. I believe it is a very great medicine for someone who is having difficulty focusing on one task. Adderall has a bad reputation only because people abuse it. If you overeat, overdo, or overtake anything, it will cause harm to your body. So, it's not a surprise some people are getting addicted to Adderall. You have to UNDERSTAND why you need it and why you are taking it. If you don't abuse it, take the prescribed amount per day, and skip it on weekends or whenever, you will be perfectly fine, and it will serve you well."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I have been diagnosed with ADD. I have always pushed myself to get good grades and to take as many AP and honors classes as I can handle. I enjoy learning about new things; however, my lack of focus got in the way of my learning. It bothers me when people say ADD/ADHD is made up. I know that people who don't have this disorder can't truly understand what it's like. Without Adderall, my mind is foggy, and I can't take the fog away to learn about the things that I love. All my friends know that I have a strong passion for physics and astronomy, but it's very hard for me to pick up a book without forgetting most of what I read after I finished it. On Adderall, I feel like the fog fades away and my mind is like a clear sunny day. Oh, how I wish that I didn't have to take this every day and just naturally be as focused. I am just an 18-year-old who is trying to pursue her dreams, but without this medication, I'm not sure how I can get through college to learn what I love. I can now look through my telescope at the stars without the clouds getting in the way."

Mydayis (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I have been taking Mydayis 25mg for 2 months, and I have experienced ZERO negative side effects. I was previously prescribed Adderall XR & IR and Vyvanse. Those medications were somewhat effective; however, they came with a lot of side effects (loss of appetite, moodiness, insomnia, heart palpitations, dry mouth, dry skin, and anxiousness). The best thing about Mydayis is the way in which it feels 'natural' and the way it steadily tapers off throughout the day. With previous medications, I could actually feel the effects coming and going and I would get these sensations of feeling 'high.' With Mydayis, I never actually FEEL the medication taking effect, but I can tell a HUGE difference in my performance, mood, and ability to focus. I even feel relaxed, as if my mind can finally make sense of racing thoughts and feelings. I usually take my medication around 8 AM and I am easily able to fall asleep by 11 PM. With Mydayis, My Day Is manageable!"

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I’ve been taking the generic version of Adderall for about 2 years now. I was tired all the time and couldn’t focus. I felt like a slug and when I had energy I still had brain fog, and had a hard time studying. In class, I would fidget in my chair, doodle, and listen to lectures, but nothing would stick in my head. No matter how long I studied. I was prescribed the 7.5 mg tablet once a day and just the small dose did wonders for my energy levels and let me focus and actually get things done. It helped me talk in social situations and gave me a mood boost. That being said, The generics changed a couple times. And I’m not sure, but I think I can tell a difference between them. After the pill wears off, my head aches, my legs throb, my body aches, and I’m nauseous and feel sick. I have flu like symptoms, which are miserable. It’s sad because it’s a really small dose and helps me so much but some of the side effects suck. You just gotta see what’s worth it to you."

Mydayis (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I've only been taking it for 3 days but I can understand now when people say they feel it running in the background. So far no side effects other than appetite loss. I do feel energy from this but not like Adderall there's no anxiety tied to the energy its more like motivation than energy. One thing I've noticed is I like to always be doing something that is productive in some way. It's not the type of energy you get and use to dance or workout you feel driven to get things done. It last for the whole 16 hours which surprised me I'm an ultra rapid metabolizer. I have no crash on this like I did with Adderall. I'm just waiting for my period now to see how the cramps are and giving the medicine more time to see if I do have any side effects, so far none but no appetite."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I have been taking Adderall for two years and it has probably saved my life. I had been misdiagnosed as bipolar with no comorbid ADHD, and was prescribed benzodiazepines and antidepressants. I eventually became suicidal when Abilify was added, and was lucky enough to have a moment of clarity and changed doctors and hospital affiliates. The week I was started on ADHD meds, I started to become the person I should be. I only wish I could have been diagnosed as a child, I feel I missed half my education. I can now focus all day, keep a train of thought long enough to finish mundane to complex tasks, and have written and recorded an album of music that had been completed but in disarray. No side effects, no weight loss or changes in eating habits."
