Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "Caverject ruined my life. I loved it when I needed it, but after less than a dozen times, it ruined my penis. I now have Peyronie's. My penis is bent, disfigured, and shortened, it used to be nice looking, now it looks like road kill. I'm in such a dark space as over 2/3 of length and girth has gone. I now am receiving shockwave treatment to no avail. I'm at the point of hopelessness and complete breakdown."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "I used Viagra, then Cialis, and neither worked for me. Next, I tried Edex. I tried 20 mg, and it worked marginally; barely got hard enough, 70-80% hard, and lasted 20 minutes. I tried 30, 40, and 50 mg. At 50 mg, I got about 90% hard but for only about 20 minutes, then semi-erect (not usable) for another hour. The needle pain is insignificant, but after the erection, my penis and balls ache (not badly, just annoyingly)."

For Erectile Dysfunction "My first injection at home: physician-provided dose of papaverine + 3 regitine with added 20 mcg of PGE1 mixture in an amount of 30 cc was very painful and lasted over 3 hours until relieved with a standard dose of Sudafed. The pain was intense at about 9 out of 10, with 10 being the highest. My penis felt like it was engorged beyond capacity or like it was being forcefully bent while fully erect, although in reality, the erection was only about 70% and declining. While the erection was declining, the pain held constant. A healthcare professional recommended reducing to a 10 or 15 cc dose. This had the same result in pain intensity but less stiffness and duration of erection. At about 35% stiffness, the pain stayed at 100% of its original."

For Erectile Dysfunction "I have been using alprostadil 20 mg. I find the single injection pack takes a lot longer to use and puts you off with changing needles, etc. With the new dual chamber units with the screw tops, so much quicker and easier."

For Erectile Dysfunction "At age 72, I had a TURP procedure that solved frequent urination but left me with a worse case of ED. Chemical therapy worked less than ideally. Now using alprostadil 100% of the time and well pleased. Erection became slightly curved, which took some adjustment to allow full entry for my wife, and there is slight pain, but far outweighs the benefit. One drawback is I must purchase 5 vials at a time and 3-4 injections per vial, and shelf life is too short, even when freezing an unopened vial."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "I tried Edex twice with no results. I got better results with Caverject, but it hasn't been available. Both times I got a little sting when I used it, but I was used to that from the Caverject. With Edex 20 mcg not working and Caverject not available, I'm stuck (no pun intended). Viagra stopped working about 1 year ago."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "I’m 62 years old, type 2 diabetic and low testosterone. I have not had a positive experience using Edex. It doesn’t work for me, and pain is all it gives. I have tried dosages of 10, 20, and 40. Same results, just penis pain for about 5 hours."

For Erectile Dysfunction "Now in my mid-60s. Always had trouble with ED. Pills helped when I was younger, then very hit and miss. Now use a Caverject. Comes in 20 mcg. I mix it and use about half, or 10 mcg. Sometimes I use the rest the next day. Do not store in too cool a place. The medicine is freeze-dried powder that is neutralized permanently by cold. I like the mix yourself version because I travel and don't need to refrigerate. Inject in the side of the penis, it is possible to miss the spot if you are careless."

For Erectile Dysfunction "My boyfriend has blood pressure issues and was in a bad car accident, which caused his ED. Pills didn't work. For 3 years, we didn't have sex. He spent 2 years at a men's clinic on the injection meds, and I am so damn disappointed. It causes us both numbing, and I can't even tell when he's in me. It does get hard, but not hard enough for penetration half the time. I just hate it so bad. It also causes him penile soreness. Neither of us can orgasm, and I long for the days when we didn't have to go through this. It's a chore and not pleasurable at all."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "Been struggling to get hold of this drug via prescription for nearly a year. I found 1000 mg quite effective, but it is no use if I can't get hold of it anywhere... Chemists and Pharmacy2U say there is a 'production problem.' Manufacturers are also vague about production when I inquired. I am in the UK."

For Erectile Dysfunction "I have been using Caverject for over 10 years. It's the best thing I have found for ED. I haven't really found any side effects that are negative for me other than the bruising on the injection site. I do alternate where I inject each time. The only negative experience I had was the initial injection at the doctor's office. Evidently, the doctor used too much, and I ended up with priapism and in the hospital emergency room. The ambulance ride wasn't too embarrassing at all, but the emergency room female nurse was very embarrassing. Her comment about fixing the guy's 'arm' I found very disturbing. Did not appreciate that at all. The emergency room staff, I guess, thought it was a joke, but for me as the patient, it wasn't a joke. Have tried the pump for ED and have tried Muse but not much success. Really like using Caverject."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "Edex doesn’t work for me. I’ve tried up to 40 mg, and the results are disappointing. It does cause prolonged penile pain lasting for hours. I haven’t used Edex for several months now, and the penile pain is still there at times. I don’t recommend this treatment at all."

For Erectile Dysfunction "Fabulous stuff. I'm 71 with no prostate and total surgical nerve destruction. Unaided erections are nearly impossible. But one MUSE injector capsule and my johnson is harder than stale bread for up to two hours. There is slight discomfort but nothing serious. I don't recall the firmness of my youthful erections, but MUSE is easily providing an erection on demand. Orgasm is severely delayed because of nerve destruction. But simply having erections again after 9 years without is a miracle."

For Erectile Dysfunction "I have tried everything going, and this is the only thing that works for me. The injections, I don't feel any pain. I am currently on 40 mg and get a good erection. I find it's better to keep yourself shaved so you can see any veins. The needle goes in very easily. After years of putting up and being too embarrassed to get help, I wish I would have done it years ago."

For Erectile Dysfunction "I tried Caverject. First test dose 5 mcg, not much response lasted about 10 minutes. Tried 10 mcg, got about 50% erection, but not enough for penetration, tried 20 mcg same result. My provider said to try 40, 60, and then 80 mcg. Haven't yet tried 40. I went to a urologist who prescribed Trimix. Worked okay, that was the liquid. The papaverine was 30 mcg. Because I'm going on a trip, I found a powdered form of Trimix online. Urologist ordered 0.5/10/0.5 which seems to work as well as the above liquid dose. But about 6 months ago, I started on clomid, first 25 mg M-F, testosterone 750, up from 450, but LH and FSH doubled. Now on 25 mg MWF. I now have nocturnal erections from the clomid. I'm hopeful that I can stop the injections soon."

For Erectile Dysfunction "I'm 83 years old - fit and healthy - people say I look as young as 59, bless them. I use the dual-chamber syringe 20 mg. The best news I have gained from your posts is to use a 31 g diabetic needle. Much smoother, easier, and no discomfort at all. Love it! I have no side effects, adequate erection for two times, and lasts about two to three hours."

For Erectile Dysfunction "Used Muse to start with, then moved to alprostadil 10 mg. Now, 5 years later, I have a problem with using a urine control tablet, which caused it to go down as fast as it went up. Stopped taking that tablet, and all was OK, as I had increased the dose when I had the problem. I was using 50 mg but was getting problems like being very tired and wobbly. The urologist said don't use over 40 mg, and I stopped taking the problematic tablet. I did, but I had to leave the dose at 30 mg at least to last an hour or more. Before that incident, I could get an erection for well over an hour and semi-hard for at least another hour or more! Had a bit of bruising and some blood, but if you check well before, you can miss a vein. Disposal is easy."

Alprostadil for Erectile Dysfunction "While it swells my penis up, it's not enough for a sustainable erection. If I lay down, it's gone, and even standing up, it's not much better. I started using this last year. I noticed I have peeling and some abraded surface skin (thin cracks) parallel to and adjacent to the top of the head of my penis in the last few months - maybe it's a side effect, the whole thing has been a bit disappointing. I also take Humira, so maybe the combo of the two causes this. No clue. Need to go back and see the urologist again..."

For Erectile Dysfunction "What a disappointment Muse was. Without my hypertension meds, everything works fine. Maybe I will just quit taking them. I am not married, 63, and have tried with several women, all to no effect. They are not shy in expressing their disappointment, or they just disappear. Muse started to work but did not get there and leaves me sore, just like Viagra."

For Erectile Dysfunction "I have tried all the oral medications for erectile dysfunction and had to stop due to being diagnosed with angina. After having TURP prostate surgery, I am in the category for Caverject Vial. I had a urology appointment and the box was unpacked, and the contents looked complicated. My urology nurse mixed the solution and got the needle prepared. The needle is so small I was not fazed by it, and the nurse showed me which part of my penis to inject. Oh my word, within 20 minutes I had a semi-erection. The nurse explained that the results might be better away from the clinic. Two days later, I tried the injection and within 15 minutes, I had an erection like in my younger years."

For Erectile Dysfunction "After nerve-sparing prostatectomy, I was prescribed alprostadil. Viagra never worked. Although I get a decent erection, I've lost a bit of girth, which sometimes happens after prostatectomy. I've since discovered doing pelvic floor exercises really helps with erections and woke up with my first morning glory since the operation and without the drug."
