"I have had tinnitus for more than 1 year , nothing helped me, until I started eating Alprazolam with my other medicines, it was really helpful, I eat one Omega 3 , one Ginko gel in the morning and vitamin B1 and the mix of zinc, magnesium, calcium after lunch and at night one Alprazolam ( 0.5 ) and Betahistin , this medicine diet was great for me , also stop smoking and drinking alcohol is very very very important , please test it ."

"I've has ear ringing on and off for 30 years...well never off, but sometimes more severe than others. Last weekend I copped 4 .5 mg xanax's from my gal, took em Sunday night. Today is Friday...yesterday, Wed and Tuesday the ringing was the worst it's ever been and I'm sure it's from xanax..not withdrawal really, just from xanax. I used to take valium and maybe that's how I got ear ringing in the first place. It's almost gone today...ill never take another xanax."

"While playing tennis I was hit with first serve, behind my ear as I was playing the net (doubles). This was in 2014 or 2015. The tinnitus has never stopped, and I had hearing loss in that ear. My doctor tried Valium right away. That had virtually no effect. Lorazepam (Ativan) has a slight effect. Alcohol will deaden it, but not good for rest of body (esp. liver). I have tried CBD oil (non-THC) and that helps slightly. I have found that Melatonin, maybe 0.5 mg - 1 mg at night tones down the tinnitus. I use "Sleep Sounds" app on my iPad or iPhone to make white noise for sleep too!"

The milligrams is the low 0.5"

"I use Clonazepam, and it helped with the high-pitch ringing. I've only been taking one pill a day, but it doesn't seem to last all day. I'm not sure if it's safe to take it twice a day, so I need to ask my doctor. In addition to the ringing in my ear, I also have a swooshing sound sometimes. I have to put my earbuds in and play rain sounds to drown it out. However, during the day, it sometimes goes away and then comes back. I need help with this."

"I've always had on hand Xanax to treat my seldom anxiety. 30 pills usually lasted 6mo-1yr. 5mg. Over the past 10 years, I've had Tinnitus in my left ear, but I could live with it and never correlated any use of Xanax for a need to treat it. About a month ago, a truck decided to blow its air horn right next to me, and it nearly blew my head off. Now I have greater ringing in my left ear with newly developed Tinnitus in my right ear. I am trying to limit to 1/2 pill every other night to sleep. It's the only thing that works to let me sleep through the night to sequester the ringing to a far corner of my brain. Doctors need to develop a 'Pain' scale for Tinnitus and recognize its very real (but of course potential overuse) benefit for the crazed Tinnitus sufferer. I do see Tinnitus' effects on my mental/anxiety/concentration. A reduced 'quiet enjoyment' in one's life is not a good thing. I'd pay 50K out of pocket for a surgery that would cure this."

"I developed tinnitus from tennis accident where serve (doubles) hit behind my right ear. The tinnitus started instantly. Doctor prescribed me some Valium, which did not affect it. I happen to have an ongoing, low dose (0.25 mg) Rx for Alprazalam, and I did notice that Xanax helps the most, but short half life. I've also discovered that melatonin helps reduce tinnitus at bedtime, but can't take more than 0.5 mcg melatonin, because of hangover effect."

"This has worked very well for my Tinnitus. I have several chronic ear conditions and recently had a few different surgeries. My doctor prescribes Xanax for the ringing for short periods. I only take 0.5mg before bed and it makes it so much easier to relax and get to sleep. I usually wake up feeling very well-rested. I understand the stigma with Xanax and caution should be used, but it has worked for me. I wouldn’t recommend taking it long-term though. I only take it during my flare-ups."

"Xanax doesn't eliminate my tinnitus, but it lowers the pitch and volume. Instead of a high-pitched smoke detector noise, it becomes a low-pitch hiss. When I wake in the night, I take 1mg and it helps me go back to sleep 50% of the time, but it does cause some morning drowsiness."

"I have undergone tinnitus caused by sudden withdrawal of Cipralex and continued for 14 years now. It spikes by continuous stress and anxiety. Following things are very helpful: sound sleep for 8 hours with the help of medicine ALP or physical fatigue, anxiety and stress control caused through external issues, massage of head and body, walk for 30 to 45 minutes in the morning and evening, cupping of head and ear once a month."
