Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen Dosing in Children

AMBULATORY CARE:
Acetaminophen or ibuprofen
are given to decrease your child's pain or fever. They can be bought without a doctor's order. You may be able to alternate acetaminophen with ibuprofen. Ask how much medicine is safe to give your child, and how often to give it. Acetaminophen can cause liver damage if not taken correctly. Ibuprofen can cause stomach bleeding or kidney problems.
