My husband has feeding and I have ran out of his pain medication and I wanted to know it is ok to crush tylenol extra strength caplets 500 mg. and how many can I give him in a 24 hour period.
Can you crush tylenol extra strength and put thru a feeding tube?

My husband is bedridden on hospice. Has a g tube. I think you can get these in suppository form. Please check. I had wanted to know the same thing. The caplets are rapid release. I don't believe you should crush these.

Yes, you can crush Tylenol ES and mix with water and give via a feeding tube. You can give no more than 1000mg per dose and no more than 4000mg in a 24 hour period so you can give 2 tabs, 4 times a day 6 hours apart. Be sure that you crush them fine and mix with water then flush the tube well with water after the medicine is given.
