I have some Xanax. It says Xanax on the front and 2 on the back.
I'm assuming this is 2mg, and if I take 1/2 I consume 1mg and 1/4 i consume 0.5 mg?
Sometimes it can take up to 30mg of diazepam to settle me. Am I safe to consume that much Xanax? I would take it steady and only as and when I need it.
I may sound stupid but I just want clear confirmation.

Depression; No trust me Xanax has a much longer 1/2 life and never should you take that much at any one time. Valium burns thru most peoples system much faster Please no matter what anyone says you can't do that on Xanax. this stays in your body much longer and builds up then all of a sudden you could very well be hit like a ton of rocks. other than that you have the right information on the mg of the Xanax bar.

With this in mind, if for e.g. I take 2mg of xanax and struggle to settle, how long would you advise I leave it before I take any more? I understand drugs effect differently but I just wondered if you could offer any further advice?
Depression; Many of us with panic attacks find that when you feel a panic attack coming on you could swallow the 1/2 of the 2 mg and put the other half under your tongue and it will hit you system much faster and if it is okay with your doctor after one hour take 1/2 or 1 mg which ever way you prefer, Now please for Xanax at one time this is a higher dose than most people so get the okay from your doctor. as I said earlier be very careful with this one. Trust me on this. Your system will get used to this amount in a short order. but safety first
