I have been taking phentermine for going on 3 months now. I was really happy at first because I was losing weight, but now nothing seems to make me happy anymore. I have a bad attitude all of the time, I feel like everyone makes me mad. Please help. Should I stop taking the phentermine all together or do I have to ween myself off of it?
Will taking phentermine cause me to become extremely irritable and have explosive mood swings?

I have taken this on and off for 6 months now. I have been back on for 2 months. Total have lost over 30lbs. Lately I have had mood swings. And get agitated very easily. Maybe lack of sleep? I fall asleep right away but do not stay asleep often waking up in the middle of the night and cannot fall back asleep.
4 years ago I took phentermine and no side effects. I started taking it August 8 and I'm the angriest person in the world and violent. I been off for almost a week and I feel like me again. I did lose 10 lbs this month so that's exciting. Maybe I need to try a smaller dose.
I have taken it in the past with no side effects as well. I started it again recently and definitely saw weight loss, but this time I had all the anger issues that everyone is talking about. I'm taking half the dose and still can't manage my emotions. It's so frustrating, because it really helps with appetite suppression, but my family might dis-own me at this rate!
I was just google-ing the side effects of phentermine because I'm having the EXACT same issue!! I'm angry at everyone, I feel like I'm going to do something extreme like quit my job b/c I get so irritated and upset!! I am eating, so its not the lack of food. I'm glad I saw your post -
I have taken phentermine for 2 weeks now and seen no weight loss but have noticed the mood swings and irritability. I'm not sure if I should continue. I started to think it was because I wasn't eating enough. I'm just not sure.
I believe if your not consuming any food or protein in your diet this could be the reason, I found that when I haven't eating anything I tend to get a little cranky with a slight headach. so try eating small snacks or protein snacks every 3 to 4 hours during the day with lots and lots of water and see if that works. good luck
