My sister had six weekly infusions with taxol and herceptin; the last one being on July 1, 09. From the onset of treatment to present day, she has blurred near and distant vision.
Is this condition a common side-effect of treatment and, if so, how long will it last? Should she be seeing a eye doctor?
Will the side effect of blurred vision from taxol chemotherapy clear up after infusion has stopped?

You can view side effects of Taxol here: https://www.drugs.com/sfx/taxol-side-effects.html
From the above link ".. Optic nerve and/or visual disturbances (scintillating scotomata) have also been reported, particularly in patients who have received higher doses than those recommended. These effects generally have been reversible. However, rare reports in the literature of abnormal visual evoked potentials in patients have suggested persistent optic nerve damage. "
From the above, your sisters visual problems have been reported. Generally vision is restored. If her vision does not improve it may well be worth checking to see if there has permanent optic nerve damage.
