i never heard of levaquin used for diverticulitis, flagyl is most commonly used as its for inflamation of the bowls which can cause terrible pain, i know ive gone through it all too many times, as of now im not on anything as im sick of being pushed pills on me and they dont work and sometimes make the systems worse. i was told watch what you eat, drink, stress, smoking, and of course certain meds can cause a flare up too. hope this helps some. hospitals and my old dr put me on flagyl and it does work, only im sick of all these pills drs want to put you on and not tell you the side affects. email me if this helps some.. good luck.
Flagyl is used to kill bacteria and is also an anti-protozoal agent, Levaquin is strictly to kill bacterias. This should cover anything causing the inflamation of the gut.
