I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome so have had RLS quite often. I've used Flexeril and Xanax which worked for a short time but out of the three of them I believe Valium which is a mild muscle relaxer and antidepressant works the best and fastest. I am not a doctor, this was my experience. Good luck!
Mother ,recovering addict addiction specialist , takes xanax it work but only if absolutely ness. Very addictive u dont want this addiction but in moderation at low levels it works
You need to get you ferritin level checked if it is below 50, Iron supplements can help a lot. They say flexeril is best but all three of those can help.. Iron levels are important.
those r all antidepressants, why would they help your rls. far as i know there is only one medicine made especially for rls. i believe the name is lyrica. not 100% so sorry if im wrong. vitamins might help also. bannanas and such might help with leg cramps.
im sorry it appears i was incorrect on the name of the medicine prescribed for rls. the medicine is requip, hope it helps.
None of those are anti depressants. They are anxiety meds & flexeril is a muscle relaxer.
Smh.. muscle relaxers and anti anxiety meds.
Hi bobareno, I am taking Xanax, and I have restless legs, and terrible stinging nerve-pain. The Xanax isn't doing a thing for the RLS, doc gave me Lyrica, but I had bad side effects from it, so I discontinued it.
Just thought I would add my two cents in here, do not know about the other meds you mentioned, but someone here WILL KNOW.
Good luck to you! sweetlemon
hi there flexeril is a muscle relaxer... i would try that and see if that helps..also you may need potassium... i am betting that restless leg thingy is because we have a poor diet here in america and dont eat enough fruit n veggies..i would find some bananas, some cranberry juice that has 300 mg of potasium in it..there is one called langers. its no sugar added and is really good..its just as same price as ocean spray. also sweet potatoes have more potassuim than regular potatoes... get your levels checked and you will be supprised how an imballence of minerals can make you feel shitty.
toobadgirl, I forgot about vits and minerals! Iron defiency can cause terrible RLS as well as potassium! I have had some relief with taking a vitamin with iron in it! Hoorah toobadgirl!
my mothers legs were doing the same thing,My mom has parkinsons disease too.her Dr. put her on flexeril and the twitching ,shaking, stinging, burning ,,it all went away,I would ask your Dr about flexeril..
