Does Wellbutrin SR (Bupropion SR) relieve pain?

The theory for Fibromyalgia or CFS patients who receive pain relief from Wellbutrin is they have a deficiency of, or greater need for norepinephrine and dopamine- both of which are neurotransmitters to help people feel well or combat pain - it could be daily aches and pains (e.g. Myalgia ) is helped, but it isn't going to help for pains, for example, after surgery.

It does include potential side effects, like constipation, which can create new pain. Also headaches and nausea are common when starting most anti-depressants but these symptoms usually subside after 2-4 weeks. It's good for the doctor to know what type of pain you're combatting so they can help find the right medication(s) to be most effective or at least narrow what medication types to try.

It's also been found in many studies, people with depression frequently have bodily aches and pains too - and so not only do they receive benefit from less depression, but the aches and pains frequently also go away and that doesn't mean they have fibromyalgia or CFS; rather Wellbutrin has multiple uses.
