Have taken for 5 days. Experiencing sweats, nervousness, trembling, dizziness, blurred vision & others. Dr said it would take 2 weeks to start working. Will these experiences cease as I continue taking it?

Ask your doctor to adjust the dosage, unless you are already on the lowest dosage possible, which would be 100mg (immediate release / SR) or 150mg for XL. Are you on the lowest dosage already? 5 days isn't a long time but blurred vision is a side-effect that I won't tolerate. I'm on Wellbutrin (150mg XL) and dizziness for the first week or two was the only bad side effects I had. This is just my opinion, but if a med is causing me that much trouble I tell my doctor to take me off of it and try something else, I can't tolerate a bunch of bad side effects, it's not worth it.
Thanks, Guys! I did contact dr. & he lowered dosage to 75 mg. Made a big difference--no side effects on this dosage. Am feeling so much better.
@jfw1 Awesome, so good to hear he adjusted the dosage for you... didn't realize you could go below 100mg so I learned something new as well. Take care and thanks for letting us know. :)
Just read about the dr. lowering the dose and you feeling better. That is soo wonderful. I bet your glad to be rid of those horrible side effects. Take care and thanks for letting us know. Ruthie
I've been on wellbutrin for 3 weeks now but my dr was taking me off another anti depreesant at the same time. This is my first week just taking wellbutrin and I feel HORRIBLE! Dont know if I should give it more time.
jade,OMG, when it rains it poors..doesn't it? I'm terribly sorry you're feeling this way. My psychiatrist I just left, had me on six different medications. Yes. I don't feel good at all, and I know that's plain out too much medicine. I'm going to the 1st psychiatrist I saw when we moved here four yrs. ago today. I see him this afternoon. The only reason we stopped is because he is in downtown Atlanta, and I'm to nervous and anxious to drive there. And my ubby was getting tired of driving there. Wer'e only about 35 miles away, but with the traffic..it takes an hour. He was excellent, and I can't wait to see him again. My hubby doesn't mind the drive now, because he see's how I'm struggling. That's the hard part of some of these medicines. Sometimes you feel crappy... when their supposed to make you feel BETTER. I would go straight back to that doctor and tell him that too if it doesn't get better quick. Good luck to you, and take care. I know I'm ready to feel better. Ruthie
Dear jfwi,
I agree with Laurie on this. I was prescribed this about 3 months ago, and had some of the same side effects for a few days, but they did go away, and it made me feel so much better. I hope this will happen for you too. But definately notify you're dr. if it doesn't get better. I wish you the very best of luck. Take care. Ruthie
Yes, the side effects will subside, but if they are too bothersome please let the doctor know. It can take upwards of a month for this medication to reach maximum effectiveness.
