My daughter is on several meds for her depression and anxiety from last 6 years, and nothing seems working well! Now she is on Vraylar from 4 weeks and tapperring Laxapro! I see little relief with vraylar, she is able to come out of the bed and walk! she feels memory lost, can't focus or is not able to think! Someone mention that vraylar takes more time to effective than other antidepressants? Please help me here?
How does Vraylar works for people with complex depression and anxiety?

Hi! First of all, Vraylar is not an antidepressant... it's an antipsychotic that's prescribed for schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder. It's sometimes prescribed along with an antidepressant as an add-on for the treatment of Major Depressive disorder and Treat Resistant Depression.
Personally, I've been taking Vraylar for about a year for depression and mania (Bipolar II) and it's the only medication that's been able to control it. I still have anxiety and take an anxiolytic in addition to the Vraylar. Luckily, no side effects and I feel much more *normal*.
You/she should talk to her doctor and be sure he's aware of the side effects she's experiencing as the dosage may be strong for her although it can take quite awhile to adjust to the drug.
