I have been taking Effexor XR for 2 weeks and am waking up jittery. Should I take this medicine in the morning?

Venlafaxine can be taken at any time of day as long as you take it about the same time each day so it's worth trying it in the morning or at another time. Remember to take it with food and a full glass of water.
Also, side effects generally resolve in the first few weeks so you may find that you'll get over the jitters with a little more time.

Why with food? I started taking it at 5am?

Mainly to help protect your stomach and GI tract. If you don't have any nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, and so on don't worry about it.

Those tummy side effects are also temporary.
