3 days ago started 5mg Trintellix and about an hour or 2 later I feel very tired, and want to go lay down. Is this a common side effect of Trintellix?

Yes, it's one of the most common side effects:
"Common (1% to 10% of users): Dizziness, sedation, somnolence"
Not to worry, side effects generally resolve within a week or so and usually you feel better as each day goes by.
