Trimethoprim is typically used to treat bladder infections and not a drug of choice for dental infections. Amoxicillin, penicillin, erythromycin and metronidazole are more commonly used. Kaismama is correct. You need to seek professional help ASAP. Untreated abscesses may get worse and can lead to life-threatening complications.
