Doctors often recommend a daily dose of 150 mg of Trazodone for treatment of depression. This amount can be increased to upwards of 600 mg if necessary. Much lower doses — 75 mg maximum — are used to treat insomnia. As such, any amount exceeding 600 mg in 24 hours is unequivocally an overdose.
because you didn't give the strength of the pills, i can just say if they're over 50 mg call 911.
Thank you, I don't know the dosage. I'll find out. Thanks again!
They are 100 mg. I guess he took the one in the AM as prescribed, then the 6 more.
Not true! people should educate themselves before posting misleading info. Trazadone can be taken in 50, 100, and the highest 150mg. I am a psych nurse and a mentally interesting person. BP ll, PTSD, and GAD.
What is not true wiccan? The question asked was about whether taking 6 extra tablets at once was dangerous. 600mg is the max that can be taken in one day but it is supposed to be given in divided doses not all at once. I dont think it is unreasonable to tell someone to seek medical help when they take more than what is prescribed. If I read right, it looks like he took 700mg, the one 100mg he was prescribed to take plus 6 more 100mg tabs. Seems to me like that would be too much drug to take all at once. It is better to be safe and seek medical help than to have young man overdose.
u are correct. I did not see the original post at first. I was just commenting on the post that if it is higher than 50mg go to the ER. I stand corrected. It can be very serious. I apologize for the confusion.
apology accepted.
