I agree with Pledge, the medication won't be as effective. Also the composition can break down over time so if it is an extended release tablet it could be dangerous to take it once expired.

Hello smeedy. It might be used but will likely be proven less effective. Most drugs are discarded a year after the perscription was filled. Regards pledge
