I've been on a low dose of this drug for a few years. I take some of this at night as it helps me sleep. I suffer from severe depression and anxiety. This has been the best drug I've taken to help control my mood swings and anxiety. The only down side for me has been weight gain but the drug helps me so much that I'm prepared to put up with it.
You doctor will help you find the best dose but I would encourage you to stick with it.
Just dying to get life back to normal been on that many drugs hope it works
Well I can tell you I have been receiving various drugs over a period of 40 years and I have found quetiapine to have been one of the most effective. Good luck for the future.
Thanks
Lee,
The sedative effects especially at the lower doses is usually immediate. It may take 2-3 weeks to see other improvements and up to 6 weeks for the drug to become fully effective.
I'm fairly resistant to most medications and I take 250mg/day now. Because I'm also Bipolar with mostly depressive episodes my psychiatrist is gradually titering my dosage upwards.
You should see improvements fairly quickly but remember that anxiety takes longer to treat than depression in most cases. There is no set dose for everyone so the most effective dose for you will be the dose that's most effective for you.
