has anyone else had this happen to them. tooth loss is one of the things I have experienced after taking gabapentin .not just decade but teeth just falling out whole with no decade on them.
I have been taking Gabapentin for over 10 years, and it has really destroyed my teeth. I have Interstitial Cystitis and Fibromyalgia, and Gabapentin has helped me a great deal, so I need to keep taking it. I would definitely be interested in a Class Action lawsuit. If I could get my dental work done through this lawsuit I would be satisfied. As we all know dental work is painfully expensive. We deserve to be compensated!
I've been on Gabapentin for 11 years and my memory and cognitive function is so bad I can't function properly. I'm on 1200mg per day and am going to start tapering down. I also have tooth enamel loss, huge weight gain, low sodium and major confusion. I also have an elevated heart rate and an issue with vomiting which may or may not be due to this drug. I'm on it for Fibromyalgia and disc disease. It does help with the pain but I have felt so awful the past few years I am going to see if tapering off helps. Whether there's a class action suit or not, people need to know the side effects that aren't on the insert sheet. Doctors need to be told by the drug Reps what all the side affects are. Surely they don't mention the awful weight gain as I was also told by my doctor that I wouldn't gain weight.. 60 lbs later.. Please tell me these affects will go away once I discontinue use of this med.
I didnt realize what was happening to me sick all the time in the hospital so many times very ill chills memory lost and now that i look back i no it was probably the gabapentin ,,they took it away from me about a year and half no more hospitals just thinking of it i was violently ill..
As with any medication some people are going to have side effects. Since you can't bring legal action when these side effects are known and revealed to the public there's no basis for a lawsuit. These side effects are noted on Patient Information sheets dispensed with prescriptions.
If it's an unusual reaction that's not previously known it should be reported to your doctor or the FDA.
Besides, who are you going to bring the suit against? The manufacturers? The FDA? Doctors?

I believe there should be a class action lawsuit because they have misrepresented gabapentin. There are many side effects and I have all of them. Furthermore, they do not inform users of the issues if you just stop using gabapentin. You have to ween yourself slowly over a period of months or you will become very sick. That happened to me and it was an awful experience.
I was put on gabapentin for fibromyalgia and neuropathy. I was on it for years and ended up having to stop taking it because of rashes and other underline issues. I was off of it for years and they had the nerve to put me back on it, claiming that after being off of it for years, I shouldn't have any reactions. But I still had reactions and side effects. They act like they don't know how to treat fibromyalgia or neuropathy without this medication. I was diagnosed with this disease at 26 years of age and I'm 49 now and still suffering.
I have been on it for years. I did not realize that it was effecting me like it has. I did not think that the blurred vision, memory loss and weight gain had anything to do with it. But now I realize it has.
What do I do about it? Should I stop taking it? I am now very scared.
Have your ever been overdosed on gab spent in and rushed to hospital?
I was by my doctor twice. Grace of god I'm still alive.
Yes i have many times not nice
I oppose a class action suit against the manufacturers of gabapentin. At a personal level it helps me. At a medical level I have been reading gabapentin comments and experiences for several years and have found nothing that seems worse than other medications prescribed for nerve pain. I have seen nothing that rises to the level of a class action suit.
Hi, I’m so glad you’re able to take a med that works for you. It makes all of us I believe very excited for any help that anyone can take and find relief from this awful condition. I battle 2 each day between trigenimal neuralgia and RLS. It’s a nightmare. When I read a story like yours, I’m overwhelmed with relief for you. God bless
I was on this for over 10 years. It caused me to have escerbations. I know I spelled it wrong. Severe shortness of breath landed me in the hospital. I weaned off 3 300mg tablets 3 Xa day. 2700 per day. I have memory problems hair loss shortness of breath CHF and my RLS is severe now. My arms and legs are full of pain. Swelling feet and legs blurred vision enamel off my teeth hearing loss. It sounds crazy but all of this happened during the time I was on this med As I increased it the effects started. I continued to take it because of trigenimal neuralgia. That pain is suicidal pain. I’m now off of it completely however side effects remain. I’m at my wits end. If anyone else can share I would love to hear it. Prayers for us all. Suit or not take this off the market. At least stop it quick if people are experiencing problems.
I take 2700 mg/day, too. I didn't know that blurred vision could be from this med. I'd been started on this 12 years ago. I'll have to look through my charts to see if different problems started after taking gabapentin. I did go off all of my meds years ago. The nerve pain was awful so I went back on it and many of the other meds.
Is there or has there been a class action suit against the maker of Gabapentin?

I have several symptoms from the use of this drug. I'm irritable, anxiety, loss of memory, swollen legs and ankles, sleeplessness, and small seizures at nite. Until I read some of the problems with this medication today, I thought it was normal. Now that I have found these problems with the use of this medication, I want to find out if I qualify for a class action lawsuit for this medication.
I have a back injury and was prescribed gabapentin the first time I was seen in 2021 and could not take it due to it causing me to get dizzy, I would see black and white dots as if I was about to pass out/black out and still have issues with remembering why I was about to do something, also just remembering stuff in general from before my fall. I discontinued taking gabapentin and documented everything to my physicians and to the disability bureau.
Thank you
I have taken gabapentin for at least a year my memory is not the same I search for words during conversations. My comprehension is not the same I find myself having to re-read sentences words that I should know how to spell or read have become difficult. It’s a little embarrassing sometimes What is the next step what can I do about this
Same here, I have gained a lot of weight. I thought it came with age. I have blurred vision and my memory if so bad, my daughters yell at me because of it. I don't know if I should stop taking it as all of these side effects have now scare me. The pain from the RA and Scoliosis, is more than I can bare. I need some type of relief.
