I don't remember dreaming like this before. Is it my bipolar or the medication?
I am taking Seroquel and having dreams every night. Some are scary and some are OK regular.

I've been taking Seroquel 100mg for the past several years and have very vivid dreams that are mostly nightmares. It's very common for my bf to wake me up because I often talk in my sleep and can't wake myself up. On the positive side, it does help me to go to sleep.
I absolutely love my dreams with Seroquel…. So much I’d rather be sleeping then awake. I spend time with my father a lot. He died 8 years ago. I know it’s all just memories, but it seems real. Every night I can’t wait to go to bed and live my sleeping life.
Same. I've been on 25 quetiapine (Seramin) and I've been having movie sessions -yeah, they're no more mere dreams - every freaking night. I wake up exhausted and completely drained out. The dreams are mostly fun themselves, but make me tired in the morning.
I had the same problem with olanzapine as well.
I'm going talk to my doctor and see where it goes.
I’ve been on Seroquel for about two weeks. Mine are really intense as well. The only difference is my dreams and nightmares are fairly common for me. But, these are next level, short film, type of dreams.
Are you experiencing any intensified OCD habits? I remember this happening the last time I took it. I also seem to be a bit agitated. I know it’s going to take a while to get used to, but honestly, the OCD impulses seem worse to me than my movie dreams.
i have been taking seroquel 300mg for ocd last month last 2 nights i have had the most intense and real nightmares i have ever had in my life.
For me, the Seroquel seems to make my OCD worse. My body is still getting used to it though. I’m on 25 mg a night. I take it for Bi Polar and to sleep. But, I swear, my OCD involves my body feeling “even” and it is... crazy right now friend.
everybody should try to lower the dosage if they can, Then the nightmares are still vivids but less intense. I wake up a few times a night in the middle of a nightmare and go back to sleep with the same nightmare that just continue until a wake up again and again... I am now down to only half a 25 ( orange pill) and it still put me to sleep if I take some Methocarbamol, a muscle relaxant. I also feel better the next day with a smaller dose even if i've spent the night fighting monsters , robbers , in jail, or you name it... worst than Walt Disney production.
I've been on Seroquel for the past few nights and I've had the most intense dreams that I normally don't have. They were more vivid than any other sleep aid I've been on. The dreams were like being the star of a three hour blockbuster movie. All the dreams, for the most part, were positive. Every night when I take it I wonder what kind of crazy adventure I will live through as I sleep :)
This is me too!!! I kind of enjoy sleeping... my dreams are a bit fun. I always describe it as a short film.
I wouldn't say I have nightmares because the dreams I have I wouldn't deem as spooky or scary just occasionally a dream might have an ending that I do not care for but I have been taking Serequil for 5 years and every night since I have had a dream some are random some involve past memories but without fail I dream EVERY NIGHT
It gives me creepy flashback nightmares every night but I can't sleep without it.
Every time I am on anti psychotics I have vivid dreams. I enjoy most of them but some are scary. I have all of my five senses while dreaming. I wake up from the scary ones with a rapid heart rate. If they become too vivid and scary I would talk to your doctor.
First time I took it I swore my parents were throwing a party downstairs and my sister was dancing in my room. I only took half of 300mg. Now it takes me 600mg just to goto sleep.
hello... when i first started taking the seroqueo i had a few weird dreams here and there, but they went away until she increased my dose up to 1200mg... then the dreams came back..but i really don't have them anymore because now i am only taking 400mg now..good luck!!!

i started seroquel years ago for sleep because of 9/11. it only took me 200mg to have horrible dreams, so scary and realistic. my husband would shake me awake due to my screaming. i took it for about 2 years, then the weight gain started to be too much.
it always annoys me on this board (not this exchange) when peeps answer that everyone has different chemistry etc. like, that's a given, even worse is "call your doctor", everyone knows to do that. my post clearly shows that our chemistry differs by the different mgs of seroquel it takes to bring on nightmares for different people. some people never get nightmares from taking this drug.those of us who can, could we just not give obvious responses? of course there are exceptions, but most people would like to hear your experience, or an answer if you have one and even what you have had doctors say to you.
since lots of you might not like my opinion, let me say i am having a rough day. bad anxiety and fear and agoraphobia have a grip on me, due to an upcoming dental appt. not an excuse... just an observation. i wish all of you strong mental health and happiness.
do not worry about it, everyone has off days... god knows i do..i wonder sometimes if it is because i am bipolar and have, or seem to have, different view points than others around me. fortunately most fo the people i deal with are either professionals, or are bipolar themselves... my 2 best friends and my boyfriend are all bpolar... they understand me..you will be fine, let yourself have a funk and get back to yourself soon!!!

I’ve been taking 100 mg of seroquel daily and had to stop because of the horrible nightmares.
They were so bad I had to get out of bed and walk around the house to fully wake up.
I took seroquel for sleep after everything for sleep stopped working. I think I had a nightmare or two but seroquel is tricky sometimes you have vivid dreams.
I've noticed that since I've been on narcotics I have really realistic dreams, some scary some not. Hope this helps
