... I don't think it's going to be cured by then as it seems to be very slowly working. Anyone have experience with this and how long did it take? What else seemed to work?

It will be. Infections don't work like that. They don't stop working when you stop taking them. They've already killed the infection by the end of the pills, but you can still have some symptoms left over. They will go away, if you still have them when you're done with the pills
