I have been on ferrous sulfate pills for 3 plus mths and I am losing alot of hair n need to know if this is a side effect of just taking this medication?? Or is it a side effect of this med and another meds mixed together?? Like I take this pill twice a dy and at same time I take an antibiotic twice a dy with it? Would that cause me losing hair? Or just the ferrous sulfate alone??

Jamie I do not see this as a side effect of Iron, If you can tell us the name of the antibiotic your taking we can check it.

Hi this is JAIMESDOWN N I AM REALLY WORRIED BOUT THAT SOME IF THE MEDS IM TAKING R CAUSING ME TO LOSE ALOT ALOT OF MY HAIR? I PROLLY ONLY GOT BOUT 30-40% OF THE HAIR I HAD AT THIS TIME LAST YEAR? OK SO THE ANTI-BIOTIC I AM TAKUNG IS THE MINOCYCLINE 100 MG CAPSULES N I TAKE THEM ONE IN THE AM N ONE AT NIGHT SO TWO A DAY CAN THAT CAUSE MY HAIR LOSS OR THAT MIXED WITH OTHER MEDS?? Okay now we got it. the minocyclicline can cause sudden hair loss don't stop taking it talk to the doctor and let them know here is the side effect. PLEASE DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE PART WHERE IT IS TALKING ABOUT THE HAIR NOT COMING BACK THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT WITH CANCER CHEMOTHERAPY OR RADATION YOURS IS NOT FROM THAT IT IS FROM THE ANTIBIOTIC. jUST WAIT UNTIL THE DOCTOR IS IN THE OFFICE AND LET THE DOCTOR KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON AND YOU WANT SOMTHING OTHER THAN THE MINOCYCLINE. IT IS DOING IT and when you stop it and replace with something else your hair should come back this is what it says on the copy and paste. Thx for ur response back. Now that is a positive answer that the minocycline does causd the apecia? Cuz I quit takin it for 2-3 wks but I continued to lose more n more hair? Or would it take longer on stoping the loss of my hair n the growing back to normal? Basically how long after not taking the antibiotic would it be before I should c the results of losing my hair back to not losing it n growjng back?

Depending on the dose minocycline going off the half life should be about 2 weeks but could be as much as a month after being on it for 3 months and you should see some changes MAKE SURE you have the doctor or dentist prescribe something else that does not cause hair loss for a bacteria infection
