I take Plavix and Eliquis. Why did I have a stroke?

I have been taken Eliquis for several years due to a Aortic valve stenosis, than after that was replaced I needed a stent put in a artery and was put on Plavix also. After a year my cardio said I could stop the Plavix but needed to take a low dose aspirin every day but he feels since I have no bleeding problems I should stay on Plavix and the Eliquis. Anyone else on both. I am a 82 year old female and have no problem with both the meds, I just feel it isa lot of blood thinners.
