My husband is on lisinopril every day with a usual BP of 125/68. He is tonight having 2 readings over an hour apart of 176/75 & 292/121 & 212/89. He took an extra lisinopril after his 2nd reading & diastolic came down, but systolic went up. He has made a call to his dr. & we are now waiting to hear back. Thx for ur help.

Anything can push it up. Tension, salt, anger to name a few. If the dr doesn't get back to you soon and his next bp is still that high, take him to the er. They can give him something to drop it faster then Lisinopril.
Thank you for your response so quickly. I'm a newbie at this & didn't find your answer until tonight. However, we did as you had suggested... the doctor called back & is having my husband take his lisinopril 2x a day now @ a.m. & p.m.
You are so right about the stress of Christmas, etc. His BP still runs much higher than it normally does, but it has come down to approx 170/78 or so. Still too high, but he will see the doctor Monday the 29th for a better checkup then.
