After a few weeks on Eliquis I began to have noticeable hair loss (not clumps exactly, but a lot coming out when brushing or washing my hair). After a few days of this, I switched back to my previous blood thinner (Innohep), on which I had no noticeable side effects. But I'm a few days in and my hair is still coming out.
My question is: for those of you who also stopped Eliquis due to hair loss, when did you begin to see an improvement after stopping?
Thank you :)

I stopped Eliquis after taking it for over a year and switched to Xarelto 8 weeks ago due to hair loss and after 2 weeks of stopping the Eliquis, I noticed a significant decrease of hair loss in the shower. I went from losing a large clump of hair every time I washed my hair to barely any. A lot less hair in my brush also. I’m only 38 and my hair is so thin now from the Eliquis and I had no idea that was what was causing it because none of my doctors even mentioned that as being a cause. I just happened to look it up one day and saw how many other women experienced hair loss from it. I have new hair growth coming in so hoping I don’t have any hair loss from the Xarelto. Do I risk another blood clot or walk around half bald, lol?!
I'm still taking Eliquis, but I did notice a remarkable difference from when I was taking vitamin E from when I ran out. I had a full hairbrush every morning, plus loads of hair on my shirts/jackets. Started taking vitamin E again, and the hair loss is back to normal.
It took me about one month to notice marked difference, however my rheumatoligist had prescribed Leucovorin calcium for my hair thinning with my methotrexate. This might have had an effect of bringing my hair loss to a halt a little quicker.
