Lately every time I cry (I'm very emotional and on my period) my right eye has been having a really sharp pain behind my eye like the socket and its so sharp that I have to stop myself from crying because it hurts so bad, is this normal? What is it?

Could be your sinus, or dry eyes causing it, using some OTC eye drops may help, but go check it out, we need our eyes for sure, I have that to and doctor gave me natural tears eye water, so many different things could cause it even a infection, its a bad feeling. good luck with this.

No, it's not normal.. See a Dr right away, could be serious.

I suggest you make an appointment with an Ophthalmologist, and no I do not think is normal.
