I suffer from anxiety, was on escitalopram for 20 years but had to change, been on sertraline since Feb this year, several increases with last one almost 25 weeks ago. Feel better than I have but I seem to go through a cycle where I feel really good for a few days then feel horrible for a week. Thought it was finally over a few weeks ago, I didn’t feel meds kick in after taking them and felt pretty good all day. Then I had some major stress happen and had a 2 alcoholic drinks for some stupid reason and have felt like crap for last 2 weeks. Starting to feel little better but back on what I call the roller coaster when take meds for a few hours and then up and down rest of the day. I’m wondering if I need to talk to doc about increasing dose or maybe decreasing. I mention decrease because I had to quit caffeine at the beginning and still can’t have a cup of reg coffee or soda without having anxiety, especially in the morning after taking meds.
Been on sertraline for almost a year now with several ups and downs.
