Started taking this medicene, and it is completely messing me up! I want it out of my body, and want to know how long it will take to be gone completely!

It takes approximately 2 weeks to leave your system totally. It depends how long you have been on it. You may also experience withdrawal symptoms as well.

600mg a day, making me violent angry, stopped taking it and an emotional wreck, is this common, I need a drug to calm the anger but I am a loaded gun with very high emotion

Thank goodness someone else is having this reaction. Started on 50mg for anxiety attacks and quickly prescribed 450mg. At first there were non-provoked 5 second violent thoughts experienced randomly. I then experienced severe depression with negative thoughts that has gone on for days. I have scoured the internet to educate myself on the side effects but rage is never mentioned. I have stopped taking it but don't know how long it will be in my system. Internet sources say 48 hours, but that is not the case for me.

How are things going for you now? Hope you are okay. I just quit taking this poison myself b/c of all sorts of bad side effects, and now I'm going through all sorts of thoughts of hopelessness probably owing a great deal to insomnia for the last four nights or so. I have a script for trazodone, but it seems like it's just about as harsh and doesn't work anyway.

I just started taking this drug for sleep and when I tried to wake up I felt drained I could not stay awake and the an extreme emotion start and I became very volitial and irritated in way I have never been before... I flushed the pills and had to get to a safe place away from ppl and thinks in which I could bash them with... So to the mental health clinic and what do they do send me to the emergency room at that point the grrness just kept building the er had to drug me to calm me down. Well you can't act on violence if your in a comma.. I Know it's still in my system but I and fighting to subdue the anger and rage with in me...

Im new to this forum. Ive recently stopped taking quetiapine due to the side effects, The benefits didnt outweigh the unwanted effects eg feeling like my body is asleep all day leaving me no use for anything, weight gain which iis a big thing for me becsuse ive always been very careful with what i eat but the weight has gone on despite eating very little, so far i feel ok having not taken it for 3 days, i was on 50mg a day, im praying that the weight comes off now that i have stopped them

i have just stopped taking seroquel after being on it for about 8 months, the side effects are horrible! including the WEIGHT GAIN & not having a control in the world over it. i'm so scared that i won't be able to get the weight off, has it come off for you?

I took Seroquel for a litle over a month and stopped because it was destroying my ability to work. (thinking too slow, sleeping too much) It took at least five solid days without it before I regained clarity. I think it stays in your system affecting you for days or weeks for certain. I've been off it now about a month and think it might still be wearing off!!!

it depends how long you have been taking the drug. for me it will take a dr. to help me off going slowly and replacing it with another drug for manic problems. best to ask your dr

I can't understand why Seroquel is prescribed for sleep problems. I take 700mg daily and it doesn't make me sleepy at all. In answer to your question, Seroquel should be reduced slowly or you will suffer withdrawl problems.

Are you kidding me lol... I have been on seroquel xr 50mg and it kicks my butt... Puts me to sleep with in two hours and it takes all I have to get up in the morning. I really dont like this med. too many side effects, I myself am trying to get off.

your dr. help you off this med. ... if you have not been on it along time... you should be able w/dr. help be off in short time... for me i have been on 300mg for 5 yrs. w/no problems ... only if i miss a dose i do get withdrawel feelings but they are gone as soon as i take the dosage... good luck

I lived through Kartina, and have been told it caused me to have post tramatic distress disorder. My body spasms , in my vocal cords down in to my esophogas, I have a startle reflex and am indeed depressed. Every three months I get a Botox injection by an ENT. Which has been helpful with the spasms, but I know I also need an antidepressant. The Serquel puts me to sleep witn in one hour, and than when I do awaken , I am sluggish both mentally ans well as physically. I am searching for another answer.

what are the withdrawal problems? i have recently been taking serequol xr for about 3 years. i think i am currently pregnant but i cannot tell my health care provider. i stopped taking the medication for one night so far and i cannot i have not slept all night. i have heat flashes. i feel like throwing up. is it bad to stop completley. will it be bad or will it go away in time? i need help. anyone have advice?

Have you found another sleep aid, I have been on it for 7 yrs, and it makes me nervous to be on any drug for that long. I want to get off of it, trazadone does not work for me and melatonin makes me itch for hrs!

I have been on it for 4 days, and have a newborn. I'm also on tryleptol and bupropion. After being up all night with the baby, I started to want to hurt her, and had a psychotic dream. I woke up feeling angry, and very scared of the agitation/violent thoughts. I also was sweating a lot through the night. I can't reach my doctor, but I stopped taking seroquel last night. I'm heavily depressed today, but I'm hoping that those awful thoughts don't return. I really do believe it was from the seroquel (they made my brother psychotic also). Anyone have these effects?

Well, it can take up to 2-weeks. It messes with my sex drive BAD! so I am asking my doctor about something else for sleep.

could i give you a little piece of advice. Go try taking some detox or detox tea. so it will get flushed out of your system a lot faster. You will feel rejuvenated.

Hatter, I really quite don't know how long it takes to get the Seroquel out of your system. I know it shouldn't be that long as a tranquilizer would. What kind of problems are you having?
