I recently posted a question about agitation and it was confirmed that Seroquel can cause agitation. I spoke with my psychiatrist about this yesterday. He is treating me with a Beta Blocker (I also have Tachycardia). He has also recommended I get off the Seroquel.
He believes the agitation may be a low level akathisia. I’m tapering from 50mg at 5mg per week. I’m afraid of this akithesia. How long does it take to go away. Anyone else dealing with this?
Seroquel causing akathisia?

Hi again, Kat! I'm sorry you're having problems with this medication. Akathisia affects about 1-10% of users taking Seroquel and other similar medications. It's reversible and is treated by discontinuing the medication with a slow taper or sometimes just by reducing the dosage. As soon as you're off the drug or at a low enough dose you'll start to see significant improvement right away. Take care, don't worry, and good luck with this.
Thanks again for the reassurance WildCatVet. Appreciated. I’m starting to taper again. 5mg at a time...
